Chapter One :: The Accident
"Elsa, do the magic, do the magic!" Anna laughed as she observed in awe as her sister made snowflakes appear at her fingertips.
They swirled around and around in her little hand, making a small winter tornado just in between her two hands. As it spiralled faster and faster, a grin found its way on Elsa's lips. She raised her arms up into the air, causing an explosion of snow - like an indoor firework. It looked like small fragments of stars were falling as they sparkled. It looked so beautiful.
Anna looked to her sister with glee and scanned the room to find a pile of snow.
"Do you wanna build a snowman?" She giggled. Hurriedly, Elsa agreed and commanded more snow to appear in the room. It was quite remarkable, to say the least.
Soon they made a snowman that may have of had a head too large for its body, a carrot that stuck out in a funny way and peculiarly small feet but he was theirs. And as long as he was theirs, he was perfect.
"Hi, my name's Olaf and I like warm hugs." Elsa said in a deep voice as she pretended to be the snowman.
"I love you, Olaf!" Anna braced to pile of snow and asked him if he liked ice skating.
"Yes, I love ice skating." Elsa- I mean, Olaf - replied.
They slid across the ice with happiness in their hearts and laughter filling the room. Anna spotted a snow pile and thought about how much fun she could have if she put her mind to it. She climbed the pile of snow and shouted to her sister, "Catch me!" as she jumped.
Elsa twirled on the ice to see what she meant and in a panic quickly used her magic to make a larger pile for her to be caught on.
"Again!" Anna continued to keep on jumping and Elsa had no problem with this but then saw how fast she began to jump.
It was one after the other,
"Stop!"
faster than sound,
"Please!"
faster than light.
Elsa panicked as she tried to save her sister from the one last jump. The jump that changed everything.
"Anna!" She screamed. The blue blast she had shot out from her hands had failed to make her a hero. Anna grunted as she hit the floor. In a rush, Elsa ran to her little sister's side and held her head on her lap. "Mama! Papa!"
"Elsa?" Her mother asked in a feared voice as she saw one daughter unconscious and another weeping.
"What have you done?" The king breathed as he ran to his children's sides.
"We were playing and I-" Elsa could barely speak.
"Sh, we can talk about this later." Her mother said.
"I know who can help but.. you must stay here Elsa. You can't be hurt on the way. We'll be back with Anna as good as new." The King smiled in encouragement.
"Just come back, okay?" She asked as she strained to talk with the amount of tears ever so slowly draining her energy.
