Infernape's Flamethrower scorched Froakie, causing the frog Pokémon to faint, his eyes swirling, confirming my victory. I grinned at Professor Augustine Sycamore, eyes sparkling. "That was a great battle Augustine. We should battle again some time."
He nodded after a few seconds, "Next time you can go against Garchomp."
"Garchomp?"
He pointed up at the Pokémon that was still stuck on the top of the tower. "Him."
"Ah." I studied the Pokémon closely. "He looks powerful."
Sycamore nods, "He's my Ace."
"Okay. Where's the closest gym?"
Sycamore points to the tower, "Here. The Pokémon used are all Electric."
"Alright, thanks." I walk closer to Sycamore, "Where's the Herbal Center?"
He looks at me, "Herbal Center?"
What did Oak tell me it was called...? OH! Pokémon Center. "Sorry, old times. Where's the Pokémon Center?"
"OHH, that's what you meant." He puts a finger to his chin, ponderingly, "Left, straight, straight, left, straight, left, straight, left."
"Okay, thanks. Bye." I waved at him and just went straight in front of me after going over the instructions in my head. I stopped in front of a building with a red and white circle plastered onto the front. I stepped inside, cool air wafting out of the doors that opened on their own. A woman with pick hair and kind, blue eyes stood at the front desk. She was currently talking to the blonde boy and girl.
"...and here's your room key. Enjoy your stay!" She finished, slightly bowing.
"Thank you Nurse Joy!" the little blonde girl smiled. Then she gasped, "You're a keeper!" She kneeled onto one of her knees and held out one of her hands to Joy. "Will you please take care of my brother?"
"Huh?" Joy tilted her head a little bit making her look cute and innocent.
The little girl frowned and explained, "You see he's not very careful, and can get into a lot of trouble sometimes, so I need to find him a wife to take care of him when I'm not there. Such as when I'm on my Pokémon journey!"
Joy just smiled and replied, "Um... I don't know about-"
The poor blonde boy was beet red and steam was coming out of his ears. "BONNIE! How many times do I have to tell you?!?!" an arm with a three fingered hand whirled out of part of his backpack, and picked up the small blonde girl, dubbed Bonnie.
"But Clemont-!" She was quickly dragged away. She turned back to Joy and smiled like an angel, "I hope you'll think about it!"
I hesitantly approached the pick beauty. "Umm..."
"Ah!" she swiftly faced me, "How can I help you young man?"
"Could you maybe heal my Pokémon? Oh, and can I have a room? Please and thank you."
"Of course!" she motioned to a couple of Pokémon who came over with a cart. I placed my heavy, bronze Pokeballs on the cart hesitantly, then nodded to Pikachu, who curled up onto the cart. The Pokémon were wheeled off, to a place I couldn't see. Then Joy handed me a small card.
"What's this?" I asked, looking at suspiciously.
"It's a key card silly, you need it for your room. You're on floor 3, room 12."
"Okay, thanks."
"We'll bring your Pokémon up, when we're done." she started to turn away but then stopped, looking over her shoulder at me. "Another thing, your Pokeballs seem quite ancient, would we be allowed to replace them with something a little more modern?"
I shrugged. "Knock yourself out." I then walked towards thee staircase that was twisting around a glass cylinder. I started up the stairs and stopped at the top, floor 3. I stalked to the end of the hall and turned to the last door, room 12.
I swiped my key over the handle causing it to click open. I pushed open the door and looked around at the simple room. A small room was attached for Pokémon. A device embedded in the wall gave me multiple options of the theme I wanted for my Pokémon. I settled for Pikachu theme, since he was probably going to be the only one out tonight. I felt the soft fuzzy bed they had kindly supplied. I felt several zaps of energy, which I concluded to be a small stream of electricity to replenish an electric Pokémon's energy. I gave a small smile when a knock came at the door.
I walked over, and opened the door presenting a smiling Joy. She bed me goodnight and handed me my Pokeballs and Pikachu who promptly leaped onto my left shoulder, his usual spot. I thanked her and shut the door softly. I placed Pikachu in the comfy electric bed I found and the rest of my Pokeballs were placed on a counter that had Pokeball-shaped carved into it.
With that, I fell asleep.
