18 ~ Fireworks in the sky and in my heart [unedited]
(Past Thea) -
[Stalker Journal: Entry NO. 17]
"Finally got my ears pierced again, yes! Do you like it, Nevaeh?" I squealed, dragging her outside the little shop with my hand.
"Of course I do!" Nevaeh said, feeling her ears once again. While she got them done the first time, this was my third time since I was obsessed with piercings no matter where.
"The tattoo looks good, dude but a little too girly don't you think?" I heard someone say to a guy exiting the tattoo parlor next door.
"I don't care, I love roses," the guy replied, showing off the little, inky rose on his wrist.
"It looks good to me," I commented as I walked by with Nevaeh next to me who gave him a thumbs-up as well.
"Thanks, Thea," I heard him answer after a second and I turned back, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion as to how he could possibly know me. Low and behold, there stood "Alex" smiling.
"Your welcome," I grumbled, choosing to not acknowledge him any further. I was simply not in the mood to interact with him.
"Isn't that guy who threw a bag at you at the airport?" Nevaeh whispered in my ear as we walked further away.
"Yeah, that's him."
(Present Thea) -
"I'm so excited!" I squealed as Tori and Chance gave another look, probably tired of my childish excitement.
"What're you gonna get?" Vince asked, resting his arm on my shoulder as he looked down at me, straining his neck. Even with me being of average height, I was a dwarf compared to him, the guy was a giant, standing tall at 6'6 and I barely even came up to his chest.
"Well, I'm already happy with the five piercings in my ear, so I'm only gonna get a belly piercing which I've been wanting since forever! And a tattoo on my wrist and one on my thigh," I rambled and he nodded, his attention trained on me.
"Which side?"
"Left. I have some stretch marks there that I wanna cover up." I admitted, tugging on my ear.
"Why?"
"I don't know, I just feel like I'd be prettier without them," I shrugged.
"Hey, if you got any prettier, I doubt that a line of people wanting to date you, wouldn't show up at your door. You do whatever makes you happy but also keep that in mind, 'kay?" Vince smiled, softly kissing my temple and I smiled back.
"Thank you but I'm still gonna get it on my left side though, I need to finally finish my left leg off and besides, my right thigh is too majestic to cover up," I replied and he chuckled, shaking his head.
"Want anything to eat?"
"Sour patch gummies, please!" I answered in an instant, grinning. He gave me a thumbs-up and disappeared into the sweet store while the rest of us; Chance, Tori, and I entered a tattoo parlor, and let me just say, it was aesthetic as fuck.
The floors were made of concrete while the walls were of red bricks littered with posters and graffiti. For some reason, there was a small chandelier as well, although it didn't go with the vibe, it contrasted well enough to make the whole room look good. The whole waiting area had various couches and seats over it as well. I loved it.
"Thea, get whatever you want done. Don't worry about the price or anything, it's on me since the shop is owned by a friend," Tori said, yanking me further in.
"But I can-"
"No buts, I'm paying." She glared at me and I glared back with no plan of backing down. It was only when I narrowed my eyes that she broke.
"Fine, but only half," she reasoned and before I could protest, Chance came up to me.
"Take it before she changes her mind," he whispered in my ear and I huffed, blowing my hair out of my face.
"Fine." Tori's frown immediately twitched back up into a smile and she clapped her hands together before strutting to the counter.
"You're like the only person who can get your way with her," Chance remarked.
"Barely, Lexi's better at me."
"Yeah, anyways I heard you talking to Vince, what are you getting a tattoo of?"
"Well, the one on my thigh is gonna be a design of flowers with a quote on top, I have it all sketched out in my sketch pad. The other on my wrist is a rose, just like the one you have!"
"Huh, why? If you want matching tattoos, we can just get new ones?"
"I know, roses mean something to you so I wanted to get that if you don't mind?"
Chance smiled at me and ruffled my hair, "I don't mind, Thea but maybe you should add something to it."
"I know just the thing," I said, but before I could elaborate, Tori came over and dragged me away.
"Thea, come on. You're first!"
~
"I love it all so much!" I yelled in excitement as I stared at myself in the mirror.
The new belly piercing looked amazing with all the other tattoos tainting my body. Wanting to show off all my new tattoos and piercings, I put on a black crop-top paired with a matching black skirt and got out of the bathroom where Chance was waiting for me, on the bed.
"Pft, go change," he snickered and I frowned. "It's cold out and it's night as well, you're gonna be freezing in no time.
With no sign of him letting me go out in this, I changed into a simple outfit, consisting of a pair of mom jeans and an oversized sweater, woven by yours truly. I grabbed my camera and a jacket just in case and walked back to Chance.
"Much better, let's go."
The car ride was filled with us laughing uncontrollably as we sang some old throwbacks, well more like, Chance sang while I just yelled. It was sadly over too soon though.
The vast field in front immediately caused me to smile softly, we were at a meadow a little out of the city. A firework show was planned out for today and we had decided to come to watch it together.
I plopped down on the hood of the car next to Chance and popped open a box of strawberries after taking it out from the high bag of snacks we had.
"It isn't starting until the next hour."
"We shouldn't have left that early but meh. Anyways, does your wrist still sore? Mine's fine now but it's still red," I said, sliding my sleeve up and stroking my fingers gently over the ink tainting my skin.
The words read out, 'Wherever you are.' and even though it was only three words, it was beautiful. It explained in purely a short sentence, how deep and amazing Chance and I's relationship was. Our friendship was something that I had never once questioned and was one I could rely on.
It reminded me of back home, with Lucky and all the guys. I considered them all to be my brothers and Chance was the same. Even though I didn't need the protection, he offered the same sense of comfort and safety that Lucky gave out. I could always rely on him to be there for me and he could do the same with me, there was no doubt about it.
I inhaled the sweet smell of wildflowers as I looked up at the night sky, the faint glow of the moon being the only thing that illuminated the earth. As soft breezes blew, blowing wisps of my hair back from my face, I smiled in complete rapture and as I did, my thoughts floated to something or rather someone.
Someone who was recently invading my every thought.
Someone who I think I was falling for.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Chance grinned at me, successfully breaking me out of my trance.
"Chance?" I whispered, turning to look at him.
"Hmm?" He grabbed my hand with his warm ones, intertwining our fingers.
"I think I like someone." I breathed out, feeling a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders. I had been wanting to tell someone for ages I just didn't find the right time, so this was perfect.
Chance slowly sat up and lazily glanced at me with a lop-sided grin, "Who's the lucky man that I'm going to have to beat up?"
I giggled, twirling a piece of my hair around my fingers as I blushed. Only a short whisper left my parted lips.
"Jonah."
"That's nothing new." Chance said, looking up. "I've seen how you look at him, how your eyes light up when you see him, or even when I mention him."
"He's just so sweet, Chance. I've liked him for a while but I was in a constant state of denial, I guess I finally realized last week when he...well it was a rather intimate moment. We were cooking together at his apartment, baking a cake to be exact. I just knew I couldn't block my feelings out further when he put some of the cake frosting on me, and gosh he was looking at me with such an intense look, his grey eyes had a storm raging among them and as his lips twitched up into a smile, I swear I fucking melted right on the spot. And don't get me started on his smirk- I'm sorry I'm rambling now, I just don't know how to stop."
I chuckled, who knew I would fall for Jonah's charms. I turned towards Chance with a smile to see him already smiling at me.
"You seem happy."
"I am."
"Then go for it. If just thinking about a person can make you so happy, imagine being with that person, don't hold back... that can sometimes go wrong if you wait too long," he spoke, his voice only a small mumble as he said the last part. It was only for a fraction of a second that his eyes shone with ushered tears but he quickly changed the subject before I could question him.
"Chance, what's wrong-"
"Shh," he whispered, placing a finger on my lips. "It's starting."
I looked up and sure enough, the first firework had already lighted up the whole sky with its bright colors. I squeezed Chance's hand in comfort, I didn't know what was wrong but something was.
I smiled at him as I poked his cheek and immediately, a genuine chuckle broke out as he squeezed my hand back.
._.
Early chapter because I didn't last week, I was sick.
I know I broke a lot of hearts with this chapter, honestly it kind of broke mine too with Chance's reaction but my baby Thea was so damn happy, she's so adorable.
I know it's a shorter than usual chapter but I wanted to end it the way it did end.
I added a little paragraph in the end of the last chapter with the date today being the 23rd of October.
I also finally added Lucky's aesthetic since I deem him as an important character.
That's it for now, love you all for supporting me.
Potato out.
