16 ~ Sweet Home Alabama Alert [unedited]
Part three of three of the Christmas chapters
(Past Thea) -
[Stalker Journal: Entry NO. 15]
"I can't wait to reach Pakistan, I've heard the northern areas are beautiful," I squealed as I walked forward, holding Lucky's hand.
"I wanna go to Kashmir, the pictures I've seen just make it look so stunning!" Neveah added, grinning from ear to ear.
"Change of subject though, I have to go pee," I said as Lucky and Neveah sat down in the waiting area and mom and dad went to get our tickets for the flight.
"Pee away." Lucky held up a thumbs-up, not even glancing at me and I scrunched up my nose.
"Ew, Lucky, it's weird if you say it," Neveah remarked.
"Why is it weird if I say it?" Lucky replied and I sighed, walking away to the bathroom. Those idiots bicker too much for their own good.
Suddenly, a bag hit me.
In the face.
"Fucking hell, Thea, are you okay?" I heard Lucky say as he ran over to me.
"I'm sorry, I meant to throw it to a friend- God, it's you again."
I groaned as the pain registered and because I recognized the voice.
"You don't just throw bags at an airport, and Thea, you know him?" Lucky asked, glaring at the guy.
My eyes widened and I quickly came up with a lie, "Uh, kind of, he works at the library and is a friend. His name is um-Alex!"
"Well, don't be dumb, Alex," Lucky said and stood up, pulling me up and dragging me with him towards the bathroom while 'Alex' looked at us confused.
Lucky pushed me into the bathroom and I scowled at him while he rolled his eyes. "Go pee, you idiot."
(Present Thea) -
Waking up the first thing I saw was the floor, I was confused for a second before I realized that I was once again on Chance's shoulder.
"Let me down, please."
"Oh, you're awake. I'm not letting you down, though, you'll just fall over."
"Let me down!" I screeched, thrashing my legs around. I assumed he was going to comply with my wishes when he lifted up his hand from my legs but my hopes were crushed when he just sharply brought it down on my ass and I yelped.
"Shut up," he grumbled.
We walked in silence after that, technically he did all the walking though. Once we reached my dorm, he opened the door with the spare key he had and strolled right in as if he owned the place. He threw me on the bed as we entered my room and immediately went out again, only to enter with a glass of water in his hands.
"Drink as much water as you can, I'm giving you your pajamas," he said, opening the doors of my closet.
Chance handed me some clothes a moment later and turned around to give me some privacy. I easily shimmied out my skirt, but as I attempted to take off my turtle-neck my arms got stuck and I groaned.
"Chance?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm stuck, help me please."
"Sure... holy shit at least wear the sweat pants first!"
"I can't, my arms are stuck."
He hesitantly walked to me, his eyes shut tight. he lifted the shirt off me, focusing on my face while I looked at him with an innocent pout plastered on my face.
"Fuck."
"What's wrong?" I asked, putting on on my sweatpants.
"Nothing," he muttered, training his eyes on the ground and I shrugged, turning around to take off my bra and put on a t-shirt. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and pee, coming out to Chance in his sweats as well.
I finished my glass of water, then flopped down on the bed, covering myself with my blanket. Once tucked in bed, Chance did my night-care routine for me and left the room, saying that he'll prefer to crash on the couch today rather than the usual; my bed.
I laid awake for some time, staring at the ceiling, giggling uncontrollably. In conclusion, I couldn't sleep. Blowing hair out my face with a loud huff, I got out of my bed and tip-toed out of my room, going towards the couch Chance was sleeping on.
Not wanting to wake him up, I slowly eased myself onto the couch and snuggled into his chest. His hold immediately tightened around me, with his chin resting on my head.
Feeling more relaxed now, I closed my eyes and hummed quietly to the beat of his heart, slowly drifting off to sleep.
While I believed that he was still asleep, the vague memory of someone softly kissing my temple, whispering, "Good night." failed to serve as assurance.
~
My eyes fluttered open as a stream of light from the window hit my eyes and I groaned, turning over to lay on my stomach and stuffing my face in a pillow. A yawn escaped my mouth and I slowly sat up, stretching my arms over my head.
A minor headache caused me to grunt as I took in the bright light around me. Standing up, I instantly felt nauseous and rushed to the bathroom. Falling to my knees in front of the toilet, I emptied my guts out.
"Disgusting," I muttered as I flushed the toilet then went over to the sink to brush my teeth. A shower was more than necessary since I reeked of alcohol, drugs, and sweat.
I slipped on an oversized sweater over my underwear and got out, drying my hair with a towel. I went to the kitchen, to find something to eat and came across a note under a glass of water on the counter.
'Your breakfast is in the microwave, take this tablet to ease the headache. I'll be back after my shower. -Chance'
My lips slowly twitched up into a soft smile as I read the note, then I took the tablet. I opened the microwave to see a plate with two slices of avocado toast in it and my grin widened.
I jumped and sat on top of the counter, choosing to ignore the chairs. I flopped my feet around as I ate my food while scrolling through TikTok. Just as I finished washing my plate, the door opened and I turned to see who it was.
Lo and behold, there was Lexi sneaking back in, still wearing yesterday's clothes. I immediately gasped and her eyes widened as she saw me.
"It's not what it looks-"
"You whore! Who did you sleep with?"
"No one," she sheepishly chuckled and I gave her a deadpanned look.
"I can clearly see the two huge hickeys behind your ear."
"What! They're that visible?"
"Gotcha, there are no visible hickeys but that confirms that you did sleep with someone. It's fine if you don't wanna tell me who it was though." I winked, shrugging nonchalantly.
"Thanks, Thee. I'll make sure to tell you when I'm comfortable, just not now."
"That's fine, anyway, I'm gonna go check if I have everything packed, my flights in four hours and I'm leaving in two. Eek, I can't wait!" I squealed as I raced back to my room.
After a while, I heard the main door open again, and Chance yelling for me. "Thea?"
"In here!" I yelled back.
"Hey," Chance grinned as he entered the room and flopped down on the bed, this time making sure the Chiko was not on it.
I plopped down beside him, poking his cheek, "Hey yourself. How did I get drunk last night?"
"Oh you weren't drunk, you were high, someone drugged your drink, my guess is probably that fucker that was harassing you."
"Oh, was I bad?"
"Very, at the party, you tried to kiss me-"
"God, high me has very low standards."
"Shut up, you owe me, you kept tripping so I had to carry you to the car and upstairs."
"Pft, what else did I do?" I asked, enjoying hearing about my shenanigans.
"Nah, nothing else really. But dude, you gotta be more careful, what if I wasn't there? That guy had one goal and I'm sure high you wouldn't be able to stop that."
Chance's face turned serious and my grin disappeared as well as I flopped down on my back, "I don't want to think about that."
"I get that but-"
"Please, I don't wanna ruin a happy day for myself. You were there and that's enough for me."
"I would always be there," he smiled at me, poking my sides and I giggled.
"I know that's why I love you so much. Anyways, I'm so excited to go back home! Are you?" I asked, sitting up. His smile instantly vanished as I said that and I frowned. "What's wrong?"
"I- uh my grandfather from my dad's side demanded that dad spend Christmas with him this year, at least for five days. So my parents called me just now to let me know, I could tell they were upset when they told me but I'll go back as soon as they return."
"I don't understand, why can't you go back now?"
"Well, for starters my grandfather is a dick and he hates me, he uses any chance he gets to humiliate me and sometimes even goes as far to insult my mother for- nevermind the reason but it's just too shitty to go back and my parents never force me to meet him, they hate him just as much but he threatens to take the family business away from dad if he doesn't comply to his wishes so dad has no choice but to listen," he explained and I scowled.
"I feel like murdering someone, specifically an old grandfather but I know you don't like violence so I'll restraint myself for now. But you're spending Christmas alone?"
"Yeah, everyone's going back, I guess I'll stay in the dorms or just go back to the empty house," he shrugged and I stood up in rage.
"No, no, change your clothes, your suitcase is already packed so that's not an issue, I'm sure getting one seat won't be that much of a problem, actually it would be but we'll do something." I rambled on and on as I thought about what else he needed.
"What are you talking about?"
"You're coming home with me, we have a spare room and everything and I'm sure my parents won't mind, they love you."
"Thea no! I can't intrude, it's time for you to spend time with your family, I'm not going."
"Chance, it's okay. I don't mind and nor will my family, at least spend tonight with us, I know you live nearby so you can just go back later."
"We spend Christmas at the cabin-"
"God Chance, just please, being alone on Christmas sucks and I know that because I was trapped here last year."
"Didn't you go back?"
"No, I didn't get to book a ticket last year, I didn't know it would be so busy and went to get the ticket at the last minute."
"Why didn't you tell me? I would've taken you to spend Christmas with me."
"Exactly! I know you would've done the same thing for me, so go change while I'll do the same, we have to leave in an hour," I said as I turned around but he grabbed my hand, holding me back and I tilted my head at him.
"You're the best, you know that?" he smiled at me, his dimple prominent.
I grinned, winking, "I know."
~
My eyes darted around the huge room, searching for a particular pair of bright blue eyes and once I spotted them, I bolted ahead, jumping straight into the arms into the person they belonged to.
"I missed you so much," I mumbled, burying my head in Lucky's shoulder and he chuckled.
"I missed you too, princess," he said, softly stroking my head.
"Sweet Home Alabama alert, y'all look like a couple, one guy's even filming you," I heard Chance mock us and I immediately distanced myself from Lucky.
"Eww!" We both yelled at the same time, shuddering and looking at each other with disgust.
"What is he even doing here?" Lucky asked, pointing to Chance.
"Aah, well it's a long story but he couldn't spend Christmas at home so I dragged him here with me."
"Oh," Lucky said.
"I told you I wasn't welcome," Chance whispered in my ear but apparently Lucky heard him and shook his head.
"Nah man, you're always welcome here, I just wasn't expecting you," Lucky explained, giving Chance one of those man hugs.
"Thanks, dude."
"No problem," Lucky replied, flashing us both a smile and I grinned, happy that Chance was here with me and not alone.
~
"I think Nevaeh has a crush on you," I said, as I mixed in chocolate chips in the cookie batter.
"Really? Should I tell her I'm not interested or something, I don't wanna lead her on," he replied, putting a tray of cookies in the oven.
"Nah, she'll move on, she practically has a new crush every month and a new boyfriend or girlfriend every four, she's the official heartbreaker of the school," I told him and he chuckled.
"She is pretty so I guess people do like her, maybe I should-"
"Dude, I love you and all but she's just seventeen and you're nineteen," I reminded him, smacking him with my spatula.
That was probably unsanitary but the cookie batter was done anyway so who cares.
"I'm just joking, stop smacking me," he grumbled, throwing some flour on me.
I raised my eyebrows at him at this action and he just shrugged, a smirk etched on his face. I narrowed my eyes and walked forward towards him. Standing in front of him, I looked up and glared at him and he just poked my nose, grinning. I growled in response and wiped my face on his shirt, then walked away to get the next tray of cookies ready.
I could hear him chuckling behind me, "You looked so cute glaring at me, it's adorable how you think you can intimidate me."
"Shut up and take the cookies out of the oven, that batch must be done," I muttered, narrowing my eyes at him and he instantly straightened up
"Yes, ma'am."
The cookies only took fifteen minutes more and after we decided to sneak onto the roof, from the window in my room.
"They turned out well," I commented as I bit into one, enjoying the crispy yet gooey treat.
"Of course they did, I helped you," Chance boasted, winking at me and I snickered at his tactics.
"As if," I replied, shaking my head.
Ignoring my remark, Chance moved my left hand from my lap and rested his head on my legs. I smiled, gently playing with his brown hair as we both stared at the dark sky above, only lit by the soft glow of the moon and stars.

Anyhow, thoughts on this chapter?
Chance is so adorable, it makes me sick. But then again Jonah is so hot, it makes me sick as well. (I know he isn't even in this chapter but he has a special place in my heart, okay?)
That's it for now, I'd love it if you can comment and vote. I love your feedback. I just know I'm gonna be bombarded with comments by some people, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, COME OUT.
Potato out.
