13 ~ All-Nighter [unedited]
(Past Thea) -
[Stalker Journal: Entry NO. 12]
I quietly crept towards the heap of scraps of fabric from which I heard whimpers. My hands slowly unwrapped the bundle to reveal a frail little puppy whining and sticking to me for warmth.
Cradling it in my arms, I didn't hear anything behind me until it was too late. There was a low growl at the start, urging me to turn around and spot the three dogs angrily barking at me. One I noticed, had its gaze locked onto the weak puppy in my arms. I immediately put it down and stood up, backing away from the raging dogs. One of them rushed to the puppy while the other two barked ferociously at me and shuffled towards me.
In an act of panic and terror, I turned around and ran, my heart pacing.
Bound in my fear, I didn't notice that the dogs had stopped chasing me and ran face-first into someone and fell down on the sidewalk, groaning in pain.
The guy easily pulled me up with his arm and asked, "Are you okay?"
"I'm okay, thank you and I'm so sorry- oh for fuck's sake it's you again!" I looked at the guy, huffing as I brushed the specks of dirt off my hands.
"You're saying that as if it's my fault, I don't even know who you are!" He ran a hand through his hair as he said so.
"Ugh, I have somewhere to be but this conversation is not over, we need to find out what's happening," he continued on and began to walk away while I laughed.
"What makes you think we'll meet again?"
He paused and turned around, tilting his head in a taunting manner, he smirked at me.
"You shouldn't doubt fate."
And with that, he ran off.
(Present Thea) -
"Thea! We got a problem here." I heard Chance shout just after I heard a loud thump.
Putting the wooden spoon down and turning off the stove, I stomped towards my room.
"What the hell did you do?" I yelled as I opened the door and saw Chiko, whimpering in Chance's arms.
"What happened?" I demanded to know as I gently took Chiko in my arms, trying to find any injury.
"Well um, you know how I just toss whatever stuff, there's on your bed and sit down." He sheepishly grinned, rubbing his neck in a nervous manner.
"Don't you dare fucking tell me that-"
"I didn't know he was in that jacket when I threw it!"
"Fucking hell, get your keys, you're driving me to his vet's," I told him and he raced out of the door probably to escape my rage.
I looked down at Chiko in my arms and said, 'I'm so sorry baby but I'm gonna put you down so I can put on some pants."
I grabbed a big bag with one hand and stuffed a pillow in it, gently placing Chiko on it.
Taking a random pair of jeans from the floor, I put them on under my sweatshirt and made a fresh ponytail.
Picking up the bag with Chiko in it, I rushed down to Chance's car as well.
"Start the car, I'll put the location in." I took his phone and unlocked it with that fancy facial recognition he had. Setting up the phone, I once again focused my attention on Chiko and petted him, gently.
We were in and out of the vet's in no time, the wait was small since we went in through the emergency section.
What finally got a laugh out of me was when Chance had to explain what happened and he glared at me, trying to look intimidating.
In the end, Chiko had a minor fracture in his front left paw and got a cute little cast put on it.
As we sat in the car to go back home, Chance cleared his throat.
"Um, you know I'm sorry, right? If you want, I'm more than happy to pay for the bill."
Smack
"What the hell? Woman, I'm apologizing!" He rubbed his shoulder.
"I know you're sorry, asshole. Your face practically screams 'I just kicked a puppy to the curb-' correction 'I just threw an innocent kitten across a room.'"
"Well, you don't have to rub it in." He pouted.
"Hehe, but for fuck's sake, stop tossing things off my bed, you mess up my room."
"Your room is always messed up though, I don't even know how you find stuff in there."
"Point taken but as if your room isn't that messy." I scoffed, trying to defend myself.
"Yes, I have a maid aka Noah who can't stand mess and cleans up everything daily," he smirked.
"Whatever," I huffed. "Can we get ice cream?"
"Convince me-"
"I'll break your arm otherwise," I deadpanned.
"Looks like we're getting ice cream then." He gave me an overly cheerful grin and I grinned back.
In a matter of a few minutes, I had a McDonald's ice cream in my hand as I happily ate it.
"You know, I have like 4 pending assignments I have to do at home, 3 of those, I haven't even started and other, I just wrote like one word and gave up," I said as I licked my ice cream.
"Pft, I have 3, although I'm on the verge of completing one. All-nighter?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Tonight?" I groaned.
"When is your closest assignment due?"
"Most of them are due either on the 28th or 29th so there's still time."
"It's the 27th today, dumbass."
"Shit."
"Shit, indeed. So, all-nighter?"
"Yes, can you stop at the Walmart over there? We need snacks."
"Thea, you just ate ice cream."
"So? The snacks are for later."
"Fine." He sighed and turned towards the store, parking the car in one swift drift.
We quickly got out of the car with Chiko in my arms and went in, straight to the chips aisle.
Once we had all the chips, we split up so one of us can get the cookies while the other got sour patch candies, me assigned to get the latter.
I didn't notice when I drifted off but I did and I only came back to my senses when I was at the very back of the store and there was an announcement going on.
"Attention, Miss Thea Amore, please claim your... child from the front desk. Thank you."
"Huh?" I was thoroughly confused with the announcement, I didn't even have a child, I only came here with Chance.
Oh
Oh
"Oh fuck, what did he do?" I muttered under my breath as I finally reached the front desk and saw Chance sitting on a bench, pouting while a worker looked at him with confusion etched across his face, as he spotted me, he pointed towards Chance.
"This yours?"
"Yes, I'm sorry. Thank you for calling me," I told the worker with a sickly sweet smile and then I turned to Chance, "You, follow me."
"Child, seriously? You could've just called me, did you see the look of judgment on all of the 'Karen's' faces as I walked to the front!" I whisper-shouted at him as we got into the line for the cashier.
"As if I had my phone with me, we left in a rush, remember? And that child thing? That was payback for ditching me." He crossed his arms at me as he smirked.
"I didn't ditch you! I just... I guess I kinda did ditch you but still, dude." I glared at him as he laughed.
~
"Ugh! I'm so tired," I groaned as I flopped down on the bed after finishing yet another assignment while Chance chuckled, still typing away.
"How many are you done with, I have one left and it's 5 am already"
"Hmm, same I guess, it's for marketing. God, I hate that class," I grumbled.
"Oh yeah, you have that old, bitchy professor, right? He honestly sucks, I had him last year."
"I know right. I saw him looking at my boobs once," I shuddered as I said so.
"You don't even have boobs though, you're flat as fuck." Chance laughed as I gasped.
"I do have boobs!" I said as I held them up through my t-shirt for him.
"Pft, Thea, are you trying to show me something?" Chance snickered.
"Ok fine, but as if you have a dick," I smirked, successfully changing the subject from my non-existent boobs to Chance's dick.
"Like you've seen my dick," Chance raised an eyebrow at me.
"I did, remember when I walked into your bathroom and you were showering? I know I said I didn't see anything but I did see it. It's so tiny." I giggled as Chance turned red.
"It's seven inches, it's normal!" he yelled.
"You measured it! Bruh, I was joking, I've never seen it," I held my stomach as I laughed louder, thrashing my feet around.
"Thea, you're mean," he whined as he hid his face in his hands and groaned aloud.
"You started it." I poked my tongue at him and started working once again.
We worked in silence for a while, only the sound of typing and my munching of chips resting in the air. I, however, decided to break this silence.
"Is it really seven inches?"
"Thea!" He yelled and stood up, slowly walking over towards me. "I'm going to kill you."
My eyes widened and I ran out of the room, cackling like a maniac. Thank God, Lexi wasn't home today. I jumped over the couch as Chance chased after me, cursing as he stubbed his toe on one of the table legs.
"Aah!" I shrieked as Chance finally caught me and dragged me to my room by my foot. Once there, he wrapped a blanket around me at an inhumane speed and left on the floor like a burrito.
I knew that asking to be free would give me no benefits, Chance once left me like a burrito for two hours because I ate his leftover pizza. So instead, I accepted my defeat and lay on the floor in silence while Chance continued to work on his assignment.
After about half an hour I sighed and decided to ask to be set free.
"Can you let me go now?"
"No." Chance replied, not even giving me a glance but u could hear the smile in his voice.
"Please? My butt is tired. If my body aches because of the floor tomorrow, I'm blaming you."
"That's fine by me."
I huffed and went back to observing random things in my room. Chiko was fast asleep in his bed in the corner, his frail body softly rising and falling with each little breath. The clock was ticking and annoying me to no ends. I could even hear my heartbeat and slowly I drifted off to sleep with the soft rhythm of my heart, ringing in my ears.
~
"Thea, wake up." I stirred awake as I felt a warm hand shaking my shoulder.
"Huh?" Rubbing my eyes, I sat up and saw Chance right in front of me.
"Change your clothes, and take your bag. We're going to get coffee and then I'll drop you off to class," he explained and left the room.
Yawning, I stretched my arms above my hand and stood up, nearly tripping. Grabbing a black turtle-neck and plaid skirt from my closest, I went to the bathroom and freshened up. Tying the look together, I put on a thin belt, knee-high socks, and my favorite pair of black boots.
I quickly dabbed on some concealer and blush to avoid looking dead and left the room with my bag in hand.
Chance was sitting in a fresh change of clothes on my couch, hearing my door open, he stood up and we silently walked all the way towards our favorite cafe; Jitters.
Once seated, our usual waitress quickly took our order.
"I like your outfit today," Chance commented as she left. I only smiled in response and rested my head on the table, still tired from last night.
"Tired?" Chance asked and I nodded, looking up at him. Chance had this unusual ability to stay awake for days with no sleep but in contrast, he could also fall asleep anywhere if he wanted to. U was always jealous of that.
"Shit!" I jolted awake and Chance looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "I didn't complete my marketing essay," I rushed out as I put a hand in my bag to take my laptop out.
"Oh, that? Don't worry I completed it for you, it only needed a bit of editing and a few more stuff. It was easy since I covered that shit last year." Chance easily brushed off and I beamed, I was sure that my smile was lighting up the whole place.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! Oh my god, I love you so much," I thanked him, still grinning.
"I love myself too." He smirked. "By the way, you're paying."
"I'm fine with that," I said and just as I said so, our food arrived and we began to eat. Me, secretly stealing bits of Chance's pancakes while he not-so-secretly stole bites of my omelet.
