11 ~ Chiko [unedited]

(Past Thea) -

[Stalker Journal: Entry NO. 10]

"Summer, can you get some more mocha up here? We're nearly out," I told my fellow barista as I whipped up another frappuccino for a group of middle school girls.

"Here you go," I handed over the last cup, smiling at the dark-skinned girl. "Your hijab is really pretty," I pointed out and she beamed, mumbling a thank you.

I turned to the cash register to take the next order and came to face him.

Mystery guy.

My eyes widened in shock but soon I snapped out of it and smiled, "Hi, welcome to Rose's Cafe! What can I get for you today?"

"One to-go Caramel Macchiato, please," he told me.

I printed out the receipt and handed it to him. Quickly making his coffee, I gave it to him saying, "That will be $3.50."

He nodded, then took a hundred dollar bill out of his pocket and handed it over to me, "Here's the tip."

I looked at him with shock written all over my face, it's not everyday someone gives you a hundred dollars as a tip.

"T-Thank you, I hope you have a good day," I stammered but smiled at him with gratitude.

"No problem," he smirked and left the cafe, the coffee resting in his hand.

(Present Thea) -

"You are Thea Beau Amore, you are confident, you are bold and you are amazing," I said to myself, looking in the mirror and straightening out my white blazer.

Today was my interview for an internship at Stylesworth; the fashion company Tori and Vince's mother owns. Of course, I wasn't this nervous for an interview to work in a simple outlet, Tori, being the amazing, person that she is, pulled some strings to set up an opportunity for me to actually work with the designers.

She knew how much I looked up to her mother as an international fashion icon, that she decided to surprise me with this for my birthday. Of course, she could've just placed me there without me even taking the interview but I also wanted to know my worth.

Putting on some white stilettos and grabbing my bag, I came out of my room. As usual, Chance was on the couch but this time he was there to go with me to the interview.

He looked up from his phone and smiled at me, giving me a thumbs-up, "You look good."

I looked at my outfit again, I was wearing a lace top underneath a matching white blazer and skirt set that I had designed last year for my fashion class. I'd figured that I would wear something original as a live portfolio.

"Really?" I asked him, looking for approval.

He got up from the couch, walked over to me, and placed a kiss on my forehead, "You look beautiful, are you ready to go?"

I nodded and we went out to his car. The whole drive I was rechecking if I had everything; my student ID, my designs and etc. I had to refrain myself from biting my nails, to be a fashion designer was a goal in life for me but to work somewhere where I had only dreamt of working at was truly nerve-wracking for me.

Once Chance parked the car, I got out and walked inside the sleek building with him by my side. It was beautifully built with a glass exterior and was decorated with simple yet classy furniture inside.

We went to the receptionists and I smiled at them before speaking, "Hello, I'm Thea Amore. I'm here for an internship interview."

The lady on the left typed something on her computer before looking back at me, "Right, you can follow me while you, sir, can sit over there."

Chance looked at the sitting area she was pointing towards, then back at me. He leaned down until he was near my ear, "I can see you shaking, don't worry, you'll do great. I've seen your work so if they don't see your potential, they're stupid."

He squeezed my shoulder in a comforting manner and grinned before going to sit on the couches in the corner. I smiled at his words, then left, following the lady.

She took me to the first floor and knocked on one of the many doors. When a faint 'Come in' was heard, she popped her head in.

"Ms. Amore is here for her interview," she told the person inside, then gestured me to go in. I took a deep breath, then went into the room. A man sat at a desk in the middle, he looked about 40 with dark brown hair.

"Hello, I'm Jack Spencer, the assistant supervisor of the design department. I understand you're here for an interview so let's begin," he gave me a warm smile and I immediately calmed down.

~

The interview went well...I think. Mr. Spencer was really patient and respectful, so it made the whole thing a lot easier.

I went up to Chance who had his back to me and yelled in his ear, he jumped in fright then gave me an unamused look.

"How'd it go?"

"It went well. I'm supposed to get an email around 5 today letting me know if I got the job or not," I explained to him, grinning.

"How many times do you want me to tell you, you'll get in."

"Yeah, yeah, you can't blame me for being nervous though."

At home, we, including Noah, Lexi, Vince, and Tori decided to play watch movies, and eat an unhealthy amount of junk food to pass the time.

It was 5 terrifyingly soon and I got an email from Stylesworth. I told Noah to pause the movie and they all sat around me silently, waiting for me to open it. Taking a deep breath to calm myself down a bit, I opened the email and read it.

"...We are eager to see you at Stylesworth to share your work."

"I got the internship!" I squealed and stood up, jumping from excitement. Immediately, I was squeezed into a hug from all sides.

After settling down, Chance gave me a big box with holes on top of it, I looked at him with curiosity written all over my face and he just motioned me to open it.

So I slowly slid the top off and saw the most adorable thing ever.

A little, blue-eyed, calico kitten.

I instantly cradled it in my arms, cooing at how adorable it was.

"Thank you! How did you know I'll get the job though?"

He gave me a cheeky grin, "I didn't. I just thought that if you wouldn't get it, I'd gift you it to comfort you and if you'd get it, I'd gift it to you to congratulate you!"

I laughed and asked, "What's the gender?"

"It's a boy."

"Then I'll name him... Chiko!"

"That's such a cute name!" Lexi gushed.

"Oh! I forgot to ask, are you ok with Chiko?"

"Oh yeah, Chance asked me first, I'm cool with him."

I looked down at Chiko in my lap again but suddenly he was snatched from me by Noah.

"He's so precious! Chance, why don't you ever get me such great gifts?" he accused Chance while playing with Chiko who was yawning adorably.

"Uh, I do get you great gifts. Remember that pizza onesie or Crackers, the hamster?" Chance said, crossing his arms.

"Don't remind me," Noah said wiping a few stray tears while I took Chiko from him.

"What happened?" I asked, puzzled.

"The idiot decided to bathe it in the bathtub and forgot that hamsters can't swim. The poor hamster was murdered," Tori piped up, shaking her head.

"Don't make me remember! I still feel guilty and have nightmares about it," he whined and Vince snickered.

"You also killed that caterpillar once too, right?"

"I was 6! I didn't know that breaking that caterpillar out of its cocoon would kill him!" he yelled back, pouting and everyone laughed.

"You guys," I stood up. "I'm gonna go to Target, I need to get stuff for Chiko like food, food bowls, litter box, and stuff."

"I was so focused on the cat, I forgot about that stuff, can I come with?" Chance asked me and I shrugged.

"Sure, do you wanna drive, or should I?"

"I don't mind."

"Then let's goooooooo," I grabbed his car keys and grabbed him out of the dorm, Chiko safely tucked under one of my arms.

The drive was short since the nearest Target was like only ten minutes away. Once in the pet aisle, I was mesmerized by the cuteness of some of the toys. I placed Chiko in the baby seat who whimpered at the loss of heat and grabbed a cactus-shaped scratch post.

"Chance, look at this. We have to get it!," I yelled at him and he chuckled at my excitement.

After an hour of shopping my indecisive self had decided on also getting a soft, cozy little pet bed, two white food bowls with Chiko's name on the front in rose gold, a litter box, cat food, kitty litter, and some toys for him to play with.

The total came up to like two hundred dollars but it was worth it. If the cat was happy, I was happy.

Chiko didn't leave the scratch post until we kept it in my dorm and even when he did get off, he immediately settled on his bed and fell asleep.

"Isn't he adorable?" I cooed and Chance nodded.

Thank you for getting me him. I don't know if I'm happier about him or the internship," I laughed and Chance smiled.

"You being happy is all that matters, the reason is irrelevant."

"Does that mean you'll be okay with me murdering someone if it makes me happy?" I asked him and he laughed.

"Depends on who it is," he smirked.

"Ooh, I just remembered! Do you want to have some brownies? I made some yesterday" I said and his eyes widened.

"Yes please."

._.

Here's another update for my wonderful readers! I just saw that I have about 610 reads and 120 votes and I couldn't be happier. Thank you so much!

Some of you may find Thea being overdramatic over the interview/internship but you have to understand that it's her dream to be a fashion designer and this is a huge opportunity for her. Also, the job is at Stylesworth, owned by Veronica Styles a fictional world-renowned fashion icon and her idol so it's exciting for her.

Also, the cat wasn't even supposed to be in the story but I saw this kitten on Pinterest and I couldn't resist.

Isn't it so adorable? Sjowbihctvhyv I can't even!

^ That's so cute like oml.

Anyways, thank you for bearing with me, I'll see you all next chapter bye!

Potato out.
