thirteen: ana
rushing about the airport. eva's favorite part of her every day. after all, who didn't love being yelled at by your co-pilot when you were late because your goddamn cleaning crew was so slow? no matter, she had to hurry, or they'd replace her. it was her last flight of the day, and she only needed to catch it so she could return to her comfortable english flat for the weekend. that was all.
it seemed the world had other plans for the young woman. not paying attention seemed to be both the bane, and the start, of her existence.
the russian was focused ahead, her green eyes paralyzed to the passing individuals, unfortunately. a young woman ran into her, her soup spilling down the front of evgeniya's uniform.
"fuck!" she exclaimed, feeling the hot liquid spill down her white shirt. "great. i'll never get there now."
"oh, god. sorry! sorry!" the young woman had some accent, perhaps western, or maybe eastern european. "i wasn't watching where i was going. god, sorry, ma'am."
she too sported a pilot's uniform, splatters of tomato soup marking her mistake. her cheeks were a deep red, blushing in embarrassment.
but, damn, was she beautiful. her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail, a dark brown color. her eyes were a deep brown, showing shock, excitement, and worry as well. she wore a bit of makeup, her lips decorated in a dark lipstick, her eyelashes full and long.
"no, no, it's fine! evgeniya," she introduced herself, her hand held out in an attempt at a greeting. " you're- um, you're okay. i probably wasn't going to make it anyway. now i have a valid excuse." eva let out a laugh, wiping her face from the tomato soup.
"still, i should've been paying attention. i'm supposed to be visiting my mother, not looking forward to that. total asshole, not really okay with my lesbianism. oh, i'm ana, by the way. ana varga. the ugliest name i've ever heard," the young woman was pattering along nervously, and eva watched as her hands fiddled at her waist.
"oh, lesbian? i see. i relate, though not quite as much, honestly. just bi." eva chuckled, brushing her hair behind her ear, revealing her numerous piercings. "well, i better go get this cleaned. my boss will not be happy if i show up like this."
"hey, me too! why not, go together, hey?" ana gently punched her arm in an attempt at a joke, but quickly gave up, rolling her eyes. "after all, we both work for the same person. i'll tell you, he would not-"
eva just rolled her eyes, walking off, expecting her new companion to follow her. her assumption was correct, as the hungarian woman followed her like a lost puppy, her light brown hair slightly wavy, her face splattered with dark red soup.
"so, where are you from?" ana asked, smiling. "sounds vaguely eastern european.. the ukraine? no, perhaps belarus?"
"russia, specifically tula. just south of moskva," she chuckled, "cold 90% of the time. could be worse, honestly. i'm in london now. ridiculously expensive, but hey, it's better than being poor."
the shorter woman merely nodded, letting out a slight smile. "you single?"
"you hitting on me, varga?" eva laughed, "yeah. unfortunately, haven't found anyone."
"me too, eva. y-ev-ah. what a name! ana is too simple, honestly."
she merely chuckled, looking ahead as they approached the dry cleaners. "well, i suppose we better change. didn't think about that. i can't think straight today."
"i cant think straight any day," ana interceded, letting out a loud laugh, "sorry, couldn't help it."
"i left it too open for you, damnit."
"but yeah, we should probably change. seems like a better idea than stripping here," ana said, winking. "wouldn't mind seeing you strip down, though."
"oh, i see," eva whispered, chuckling quietly. "that's the kind of relationship we're gonna have?"
"i can take it one step further," she joked.
"fair enough. not sure how far i'd go. how about subway? you'll be needing some food."
"i'd eat you up," ana whispered, just loud enough for evgeniya to hear.
the russian blushed, her cheeks turning a violent shade of red. she chortled, licking her lips. "lunch first."
"fine. lunch first."
