Chapter 4
Anna met me after class. 'I'm sorry about that.' She said. She was referring to the harrassment that I'd just endured during class.
I shook my head. 'You don't need to be sorry,' I told her. 'It's not your fault.'
'Do you want me to talk to Todd?' She asked me. I noticed that she was still looking at me in pity.
I tried not to look as surprised as I felt. 'Um, no I'm good thanks. I'll probably talk to him myself if I get harrassed by anyone else.' Which I knew was more than likely. I thought again about how many girls attended our college and inwardly grimaced.
Did I tell you that I hated it when girls harassed me? Of course I had, silly me.
She looked like she was a bit upset. It wasn't obvious but I'd known her for a while and if anyone knew the signs, I would.'What's up?' I asked her. 'You don't look too happy.'
She cringed slightly as she dug her hands into her pocket. 'Emily told me to give you this.' She stated before handing me a note with a phone number scribbled on it. 'It's for Todd.' She added unecessarily.
'You have got to be kidding me.' I groaned. 'First period has only just finished!' She took a few steps away from my wrath. 'Sorry.'
'It's ok.' She still wasn't looking at me.
'So... about you and Adam.' I began. It was the best that I could do in all fairness, I had no idea how to approach the subject since I'd only just found out.
She turned the colour of a beetroot. 'Oh, please don't.'
I shrugged, not wanting to upset her anymore. 'Well, if you ever need to talk, I'm here.' And I meant it.
Her eyes glistened. 'Really?'
I frowned. 'Yeah, why?' I put my hand on her arm to try and console her. 'Has...um, is everything alright?' Yes, I did want to know what was bothering her, even though I was being a bit awkward about it. And I know we weren't the best of friends but I did still care.
She looked away quickly before wiping her eyes. 'Yeah everything's fine, thanks.' I didn't buy it for a second but before I could question her, the bell suddenly rang for the next period. I inwardly cursed it.
'I've got to go.' She said before turning away and heading in the opposite direction.
'Wait!' I called out. Still puzzled, I watched her hurry away and tried to figure out just exactly what could've be making her so upset. I knew Adam; he was a good guy and it was clear he was pining for her and vice versa. So why did she look... distracted?
The last thing I had time to think was that I'd ask Adam the next time I saw him, before quickly walking to my next class.
Ok, I know this was short and a little bit lame for a beginning, but there will be more to this chapter, I promise! Right now I'm trying to focus on another story that I want to publish which will be called, 'My Faery Warrior.' :)
Sound good..?
