I was a bit surprised from what Arwan had just said, I had never really talked to people out of my friend circle, maybe sometimes I had to, but that's not the point.

"Huh.. yeah I'll help, what do you need?" God that sounded so awkward, let me at least be normal once in a while!

He just gave a slight smile and said " The hallways here are confusing as hell and the map isn't even helping a bit, could you show the way to the rooms?"

" Sure, I was heading there anyways"

" Nice coincidence. "

" Or maybe just luck, lets go " I said, getting up. When I first came here, I used to wander off to places I wasn't meant to. It was funny how I had to stay next to chief all the time, just because I like running around. Arwan interfered with my thoughts and said " What's the mission you got?"

" I didn't check on the reports, wait a minute " I stopped to just take a glance on the reports chief had given me.

" Planet... Ataraxia, I have to go find the lost Heart of Gold before the planets break down"

" All alone??, thats not an easy task you know? " He said. The expression on his face was a bit off, and I could tell that something wasn't right.

"something wrong? "i asked purely out of curiosity or maybe you could say concern but anywaysss.. 

he replied "No, it's nothing really "

" Okay.., so whats your first mission anyways? A bit too early for a newcomer like you. "

" I had my experience and I think I am qualified for the job, Oh right.. I need to go planet Eira and retrieve the Perseus formed there. "

A Perseus, on the planet I used to live on and the time had come where all hope was lost for it but why did Arwan get that mission? and..

" By any chance, do you live on Ataraxia? " I asked all of a sudden, this isn't how I talk to people at all but curiosity got the better of me.

" So you are a sharp one.. " he replied with a sigh.

" You don't need to say anything more if you are not comfortable. "

There was a long silence gap in between as if he was trying to think to say something but doesn't know how to or maybe he doesn't want to. I didn't want to go back to Eira after everything that happened and I wonder why I had to go to Ataraxia instead of Arwan, he knows it like the back of his hand. Chief knew this too and gave us these missions specifically.

 Questions swirled in my head as I try to find the answers to it and before I knew it, we were already near the rooms, and also I'm starving.

" Whats your room number? " I asked him and he look like he was in his own thoughts too as he did not listen to what I had just said. I snapped my fingers in front of his face and said "Helloo Arwan! you can stop dreaming now! "

" Sorry, I spaced out.."

" That fine, happens to the best of us. Anyways, whats your room number? "

" 304 " he replied. We went to the elevator, usually there is a lot of rush but luckily not during these hours. I pressed down on floor 3, there are many here rooms, maybe 500 if I should guess and this is the tallest part of the Arcane space station. It does take time to get to floor 3. There was no interaction between us when we were in the elevator, which was very awkward obviously. We stepped out on floor 3 and headed to room 304. This is the time I realized that I was not only starving but also dying from hunger.

" Hey Arwan.. can I eat my food at your room? " I know, this is a very weird question to ask but I really need to eat.

" Yeah sure.. am I allowed to ask why? "

" Umm.. my room is on floor 5 and I can't wait any longer to eat so.." He chuckled at my response and I felt an uneasy warmth, something I couldn't explain. As we stepped into the room, it was clear to me that he needs to tidy up this room.

" Sorry about my room.. ", He said as soon he saw my expression. I sat down on the floor, it had became a habit of mine as when I do my research, my table won't be enough to find all the papers. To be honest, even I'm messy at some point of time and he just arrived a week ago.

As I started munching down on my food, I noticed Arwan looked nervous. I didn't want to push him further, especially after the awkward moments we just had.

" Hey.. I'll tell you something which I think you will be interested to know.. "   

" waht? " i tried to speak as i gobbled down the last piece of my food and oh wow, It sounded so disrespectful, WHY DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD, especially when he sounded so serious. He just smiled warmly at me. Shit, I feel embarrassed and I could feel my cheeks turning red.

" Ataraxia is was indeed my home planet and I know you have probably have guessed that by now.. "

" I know that cause I'm a genius~ ", I know this was a serious conversation but I had already messed up anyways, so why bother?

" So.. I'm an exile from there-"

"YOU WHAT?!" I didn't even let him complete his sentence. I sprang up and slipped on a book, and guess what fell face front in front of him as he took a step back. Embarrassment level : 1000.

" Are you okay?? " He asked with a tone of sympathy and lend his hand.

" I'm fine! I'm fine! " I said as I tried to get up by holding the cardboard boxes near his sofa but I did not realize that they were empty I fell with a thud on the ground. again.

Embarrassment level : infinity.

" Oooh that's a hit! " He said with a hint of sarcasm as he bit down a smile while trying to hide his laughter. He held his hand out again, and this time I took that 'helping hand'.

" Did it hurt? " He asked, not that he cared.

" No, it didn't "

" Really?? You fell on the floor and hit hard you kn-"

" Of course it did you moron! " I snapped back at him.

I could see him trying so dang hard to hide his laughter that I wanted to punch that stupid face of his.

" I'm leaving- "

" Aww already? then hope to see you soon "

" Hope we never " I whispered to myself as I left the room.

I reached to my room on floor 5 and as I stood in front of the door, I realized that I had forgotten something..

I had forgotten to ask how Arwan was an exile-

How could I have forgotten that?!

I didn't want to waste any more time on having thoughts about him. I had to focus on the mission 'Ataraxia'. Well, that's what I thought and how wrong was I and how could I have forgotten that I can never get peace on this spaceship.

When I was about to start my research, a shrill ringing sound was coming from my watch. I accepted the call as it was Anora.

" Hey Lumii~ " Anora said.

" Get to the point "

" Not in the mood huh? anyways.. gotta inform you that we are in bit of a pickle "

dang, interesting choice of words from someone who doesn't even like pickles.

" Andd what should I do madam? "

" Sooo... The thing is, we were experimenting on paracosm, you know, the beings' who gets corrupted when the Perseus resides in the planet for too long.., and coming to the point, the red-eyed paracosm escaped.."

" THE WHAT?! " I was stunned and I definitely couldn't process what she had said.

" Don't worry, these ones are not hostile, or else we would have no chance of getting it in here, and these paracosms like to hide in the dark. So, please help us would you? "

" What else can I do after you have given me such a shock? Where do you think the paracosm will be at? "

" Maybe in the storage area, the long term one, it's always dark there "

" I'll take a look then. Report it to chief "

" Roger that "

The storage area was located a bit far from the rooms, nothing dangerous was kept in there. I raced through the hallways and finally entered the storage room. I stealthily entered the room, I turned on my thermal vision, just in case but I didn't require it. 

I could see the glowing bloodshot red eyes staring right in my direction. nice shot for being stealthy, I thought to myself. If I don't do something in time, it will get me. Maybe this might not be a life & death situation but i better be careful or who knows what might end up happening...
