I must've fallen asleep during the trip, because when I opened my eyes, the jet was landing. My hands were untied, and I watched the Captain silently open the back of the jet.

"We're here, kid." He calmly stated as he helped me up.

"What is this place?" I asked.

"Somewhere Fury and those mutant fighters can't get to you." He answered cryptically.

He led me to a building with a white exterior. When I walked in, I saw the Avengers from before, and a few new people. He quickly led me away, and into a bedroom. It had a small dresser, a twin bed with black sheets, and a window. Off to the side there was a door with a mirror attached, which I'm guessing led to a bathroom.

"I can't stay here. I need to go home. I need to go to my real home." I told him.

"Okay, do you need a ride?" He asked.

"No." I answered as I charged past and dove into a lake.

I changed form when I hit the water, and I swam. I surfaced hours later, and I was back in the city. Minutes later, someone or something surfaced behind me.

"Hello? What are you doing here?" The figure asked, "Where's your pod?"

"Well, I am mutant from the city, and I don't understand what you mean by pod." I answered.

"Your mermaid pod. They're like your family." The girl explained.

"My family is dead." I morbidly stated.

"Well, you can be with us." The girl said.

I turned around. The girl had orange scales, but they looked almost gold. Her blonde hair was braided and her eyes were a deep blue.

"What's your name?" She asked.

"Coco." I answered.

"Well, Coco, you can join our pod. If you want." She stated.

"I don't think I'll join, but if you're going to stay for a while, here are a few things to know. First of all, there are bad men here, and they will try to catch you. They're called S.H.I.E.L.D. and they might get a little help from a team called the Avengers." I explained, "I know from personal experience that if you show them your tail, they'll probably be enchanted by it and just stare. Can you turn human?"

"Yes. If I touch water, I turn back though." The girl answered.

"Then use that form to get on land and eat. If they ever catch you, do not tell them anything. If they try to take you to a lab, run the second that door opens. When you reach the nearest body of water and dive, they might try to chase you. Just swim when that happens." I explained again.

She nodded slowly, like she was absorbing the information. Suddenly, she pointed up. There was a group of people in black armor coming for us. I swam away, and she did too. I dove under, and she followed. The sun was up, and I could see through the water. I surfaced behind a rock, right next to her.

"I never caught your name." I told her.

"Oh, it's Seryna." The girl answered.

"Well, those men were bad men, Seryna. They're the ones I warned you about." I told her.

In the distance, I see more heads pop up above the water. They went back under, and didn't pop up again. I had a feeling that was her mermaid pod.

We started swimming towards the city, and I watched the others swim that direction, too.

"We're going to be safe." I calmly told Seryna when we reached the beach's shoreline.

"We're going to be ok." She told me.

She walked over to the others and mumbled something to them. They swam off, and I walked over to her.

"We need to hurry." I told her.

We swam off into the deep waters of the Atlantic, and didn't return to NYC.
