|Chapter 8| Mistakes.
Grillby's POV:
In my dream, I am in the blizzard. Wind is circling me, the snow is hurtling itself at me, and the chill nips at my face and flames. The blizzard made me very cold... Ice cold.
I can't see anything except white, but it keeps getting into my eyes, as though I was not wearing my glasses. I looked at myself and saw that I was only wearing shorts and a vest. I started to mildly panic. I was gonna freeze if I kept going on.
But it was like I was either paralyzed, or moving but never going anywhere because all I could see was blurry white.
Always white...
Windy, cold white.
I then felt the white biting me, and I looked down to see me evaporate, slowly but painfully. I tried to scream, but the howling winds covered it. I closed my eyes, but then I heard a scream. So I opened my eyes and woke up.
Y/N's POV:
The warmth that I felt earlier when I was passed out, yet still half conscious, was fire, which I was glad of, but then when I looked more into it, I noticed human details...
Human details?!
I was going to get off the fireman, Grillby, but it seemed like he was dreaming, and then he screamed.
Which made me scream.
And then he woke up.
"GRILLBY?!" I screeched.
"Hmm?" Grillby was still half asleep, still rubbing his flamey face, but then he moved his arm for his glasses. "Could you hand me my glasses?"
I silently did so, but I was still in shock and flustered beyond belief.
"Would you care to explain why I was on top of you, in your house, and without my consent?!" I scolded Grillby, with a red face, and in response, his eyes lit up with his glasses and he turned into a red flame. I'm assuming that he's blushing.
"Well, when you ran off, there was a blizzard going on." Grillby stated, and I rolled my eyes.
"After that?" I snarled.
"I went looking after you, because I knew that you wouldn't be well off in a snowy storm, and also because I was sorry... but when I found you on the ground, you were ice-cold!" Grillby put his shirt back on, and of course I looked away when he did, but he kept on explaining his story. "So I took you here, which, is right behind my bar, and the five blankets that I put on you, was not helping, so I quickly thought, that since I am a fire elemental, I can let you rest on me, so you will warm up quicker."
"O-kay." I still didn't believe his story. "But why did you have to take your shirt off?!"
"Well, what good is it to put a sheet over a flame?" Grillby smirked at his quip.
"Good point." I looked around.
With his small house, I found it nostalgic to mine. Mine, was two stories, with the top floor being a small room which was my bedroom, and Grillby's is similar, except there is no second floor, but he does have one extra door than I. I guess he has a guest room. But he does not have a kitchen, oddly. Maybe it's because he has the bar, so there's no need for the kitchen. The house is small... And I like it.
"Dad? Is that you?" Came a voice from the entrance. The door opened and out came a green flame head.
"Who's that?" I nudged Grillby when he didn't answer.
"Oh that's my daughter, Fuku." Grillby smiled, and I ran my eyebrows on a theme park again. I found the fact that Grillby being a father, startled me. I think I misjudged him. He is so much older than me, and yet I treat him with zero respect.
I think I should really change that.
"DAD!" Fuku smiled and ran to hug her father. They both were in a firey embrace, and this made me smile, yet it brought me back to me being rude to Grillby.
"Oh. I see that you have concluded that it was Grillby and Y/N, Fuku." I heard the familiar tone of Sans, and I frowned at that. I still didn't trust him for some reason. I just have a feeling that he's very powerful, and also there's something behind that smiling mask of his. I couldn't tell what it was though.
"Of course I did!" Fuku grinned as Grillby let go of her. He turned his head towards me, and I of course, turned the other way and ignored his look towards me. Though, I did hear him mumble my name, and I raised my eyebrows are him.
"Why'd you say my name?" I whispered to him.
"N-No reason!" He panicked while whispering.
"Uh huh. Sure..." I shook my head to his excuse.
"Hey you two love birds, your whispering is kinda loud." Sans spoke with a hint of obnoxiousness.
"I wonder why you would even call us that." I thought out loud, with Sans and I having a glaring contest. His of course, lasted the longest, because he didn't need to blink, meanwhile, I do.
"Guys! Stop bickering." Fuku stepped in-between us, which broke my line of vision with Sans, and instead in Fuku's green fiery face.
"Oh... Sorry." I apologized, and she nodded in approval. This caused Sans to stammer out an apology, which she accepted as well.
"Great. Now, Dad, would you care to explain why Y/N was sleeping on top of you?" Fuku inquired, cocking her head, having one of her hands on her hip sassily.
"W-Well I..." Grillby turned red again and trailed off. He hung his head and sighed. "Y/N here," He looked towards me with guilt in his eyes. "She was out in the blizzard."
Grillby told them of his explanation as to why I was on his chest with him only having a vest on.
"And then you came in here." Grillby concluded, and I nodded in agreement, but had my arms folded against my torso in an annoyed manner.
"Oh." Sans sounded, and he put his hands in his pockets and smiled smugly. "You sure that's how it went? Because from the looks of Grillby, I would think you would say he's ho-"
"Enough." Grillby spoke darkly to Sans, which surprised the shorty.
"Woah. Haven't heard that tone come out of you before." He backed away from the angry looking fireman, and I lifted one of my eyebrows.
"How come you only used it on me?" I looked up towards Grillby, which he then looked down flustered.
"Because." He stated. He left me hanging.
"Because what?" I insisted.
"Because I hate you!" Grillby bellowed, which scared me the slightest bit since he already did it to me.
"Well guess what?" I asked him, and he lifted a fiery eyebrow.
"What?" Grillby said, coldly.
"I hate you too." I then turned on my heel and exited out of the room, and left Grillby's.
Little did I know, that Grillby immediately wanted to take back what he said, but he couldn't. Because he already said it, and got my opinion.
