A New, Stronger Sensei; Terry Silver (Part 19)
"Cobra Kai is finally rising to the level of popularity that it deserves!" smiled Terry as he tied his curly gray hair behind his head while looking in a mirror hanging on the wall. He had recently installed it after he became the new head of Cobra Kai. In fact, he had redecorated the entire office, getting rid of the "used" desk and filing cabinet and replacing it with shining new ones. The only thing that really remained the same since he had refurbished the original Cobra Kai dojo was the framed photo of himself, Kreese, and one of their army friends. And it wasn't that he didn't feel any remorse for sending his best friend, John Kreese, to jail, but it was necessary to complete their goals.
It's like Johnny said, we have to do whatever it takes to make sure Cobra Kai stays on top.
He'd gone soft. He'd seen it with his own two eyes when he'd tricked Johnny Lawrence into coming to fight both Kreese and him at the very dojo he stood in and he had shown his old student, mercy.
Even just thinking about the word disgusts me.
"Are you all ready for your next lesson in the art of the cobra?" asked Terry, knowingly as he walked out of his office.
"Yes, Sensei!" shouted all of his students obediently as they lined up.
They were acting as usual, but one of them was hiding a secret, Terry could smell it.
But why would they want to hide something from me? Don't they know they can trust me?
He slowly walked past his students, looking them closely up and down. He stopped when he reached Tory Nichols. Her right shoulder was bruised underneath her black crop top and there were two minor cuts residing above her left eyebrow.
"Who did this to you?" asked Terry, gesturing towards her shoulder.
"Hawk," she stated, emotionlessly.
Ah, our resident traitor. It would have been just spectacular to have him as a cobra, but now that he's chosen a different way, the Miyagi-Do way, he must be dealt with. In time, that is.
"And why did he attack you?" questioned Terry once more, folding his arms behind his back.
"They didn't attack, we did," smirked Kyler, proudly.
"And you're proud of yourself, aren't you?" smiled Terry, placing his hand on Kyler's shoulder.
"Yeah," continued Kyler, uneasily.
Terry nodded understandingly and then, grabbed his arm harshly and flipped him on his back. Kyler moaned in pain as he stumbled back onto his feet.
All the other students just stared in fear, hoping they weren't the next to be called on.
"You are not to attack your fellow classmates without my permission," commanded Terry, firmly.
"So, we're gonna let them get away with whatever they want?" questioned Tory, angrily.
The ever persistent Mz. Nichols.
"Sensei Kreese may have let you run around playing bullies but I'm your sensei now which means I make the rules. And we are going to be smarter than Kreese was," stated Terry, looming over Tory menacingly.
"Okay," responded Tory, quietly.
"Is there anyone else who would like to question my authority?" said Terry, sarcastically as he resumed his place in front of the class.
"No, Sensei!" shouted all of his students.
"Good. Now one-hundred push-ups on your knuckles," instructed Terry.
The students dispersed as soon as possible after class, avoiding making eye contact with their sensei.
"Wait, Mz. Nichols," said Terry as Tory was about to open the steel framed front door.
She walked back towards him and awaited his question.
"Out of all the students in my class, you seem to be the closest to him so, do you know where Mr. Keene has disappeared to for the last couple of days?" asked Terry, staring her down.
There will be consequences if you lie to me, Mz. Nichols.
"No, I haven't talked to him anymore than y\you have," Tory answered, plainly.
"Okay, thank you, Mz. Nichols," said Terry, nodding towards the door.
Tory bowed in respect before leaving.
If they think I can be fooled by their lies then, they are sadly mistaken.
