Part 42: Enemies Reunited; Johnny Lawrence

Dedicated to @AbbyWatson4, @Robby2Keene, @NewYorkDoll, LOVESTODOODLE, @CamrynKissel, @Krystal1601, @madi658, and M_Mazariegos for their amazing support of my Cobra Kai stories :)

“Why can’t this guy just go away,” moaned Johnny as he pushed himself to his feet, ignoring the massive dent now etched into the wall behind him where Mike Barnes had so kindly thrown him into.

Johnny was all for fighting, in fact, he couldn’t honestly remember any party he’d ever gone to (whether that be when he was kid or now) that didn’t end in one. The real problem was that he couldn’t help Robby and deal with Miguel’s father at once.

And it also might help if I actually knew where my two kids were right now.

“Still don’t get what my son see’s in an old washed loner like you, anyway,” declared Mike, proudly idling as he watched his opponent stand up.

“At least, I was there for him,” retorted Johnny.

He immediately threw a strong-knuckled punch directly at Mike’s face, clocking him straight in the jaw.

“You don’t have the right to criticize me about my parenting skills. Just take a good look at what a loser your son is,” scoffed Mike, smacking his lips together as his tongue felt the fresh blood smeared onto his lips.

“I told you to leave my son out of this,” shouted Johnny, clenching both his fists angrily.

“Said the guy who stole mine,” spat Mike, spitefully.

He really doesn’t know when to quit.

Johnny charged forward, his fists raised high. His and Mike’s bodies smashed into one another, neither faltering for a second before releasing a barrage of furious blows across each other’s chests. Johnny was at a disadvantage when it came to physical strength (despite what he’d claimed to Robby when discussing the wrestler’s skills), but he was much quicker than the behemoth of a man that was his opponent.

I should just make him topple over or something, that would really embarrass him.

Johnny grabbed Mike’s left arm sharply, twisting it roughly behind his back.

“How’s this for a weak old man!” Yelled Johnny, kicking him behind the knee.

Mike pulled his left arm forward, letting Johnny’s feet skid noisily across the squeaky ground until they were face to face.

“You’re gonna have to do better than that,” stated Mike, slamming his head against Johnny’s with a loud wham!

It felt as if he’d hit head first into a car’s hood, a painfully powerful ringing sounding through his ears. He stumbled backwards, gripping the edge of a nearby table for support.

“You’ve had enough yet?” Questioned Mike, looking his enemy up and down.

“Not even close,” panted Johnny, readying his fists.

The Senseis’ fists clashed with unimaginable power, each blow dealt being more crippling than the last. Neither ever wavered from their battle, regardless of the pain felt throughout their worn muscles.

“I’m done messing around,” stated Mike, kicking Johnny hard in the back before punching him onto the ground.

Man, I really should have taken up wrestling as a kid…

Mike used one elbow to pin Johnny to the ground while his other hand released a flurry of relentless hits to the latter’s ribs. He tried to push his way free of the man’s grasp by kicking upward, but Mike wouldn’t yield.

He kneeled down on Johnny’s left leg, immense pressure already shooting its way up Johnny’s spine.

“It doesn’t matter what you do or who you think you’re helping, Diaz is never going to need you!” Shouted Mike as he punched his enemy in the face, repeatedly.

The ringing inside Johnny’s head had rendered his other senses useless as it consumed his every thought.

“It doesn’t matter, you wanna know why? Because I’m always going to need him,” breathed Johnny, feeling his broken ribs press against his chest as he spoke.

“You really are pathetic,” groaned Mike, slamming his fist against Johnny’s face.

Johnny felt his vision blurring, his surroundings slowly becoming mere shapes of their former selves.

This probably isn’t good…

“I’ll give you this, you’re a better fighter than I expected you to be. But not good enough to beat me,” smirked Mike sneeringly, pulling his fist back far behind his head.

But just as Mike was about to deal the finishing blow, he was kicked roughly to the side, crashing through several of Yasmine’s delicately stacked presents.

“Luckily for him, he’s not alone,” commented Daniel, smiling as he offered his fellow Sensei a hand up.

“I had that covered,” commented Johnny, reluctantly taking Daniel’s hand before pushing himself to his tired feet.

Those LaRussos always have to play the hero, don’t they?

“Uh huh, sure,” responded Daniel, rolling his eyes.

“I’ll just have to kill you both, then!” Yelled Mike, furiously as he charged towards the Senseis.

They both nodded at one another and without a single word, they quickly took on the beast of a fighter. So effortlessly they weaved around him, landing blow after blow to their enemy while simultaneously blocking Mike’s vicious attacks at their newly found partner.

And for only the second time since he’d known him, Johnny actually appreciated Daniel’s help.

I’m sure this feeling will wear off soon enough. Probably after he tries to celebrate with some sappy speech.

“You really have changed, Daniel. But deep down, you’re still that scared little kid who needs an old man to protect him,” coughed Mike, his raised hands covered in blood.

“Having help doesn’t make us weak. It’s our family that makes us stronger,” stated Daniel, calmly.

“Eh, I could've said it better, but I didn’t hate it,” commmented Johnny, shrugging.

“Wait, how do you know this guy?” Asked Johnny, suddenly turning to face Daniel as he blocked one of Mike’s furious punches before it hit Daniel’s back.

“It’s a long story,” answered Daniel, distracted.

Johnny just scoffed, knowing everything with Daniel was “just a long story.”

I still think he intentionally makes them long so he can talk about himself more. Jokes on him because everyone knows the less you say, the better you are.

Both Senseis spun around, jumping into the air before landing a simultaneous kick to Mike’s chest, knocking him to the ground, unconscious.

“Shoulda done that from the start,” stated Johnny, high-fiving Daniel, confidently.

But as they turned around to resume their fight with Silver, they saw an unsettling sight.

Terry Silver slowly walking towards Miguel and Robby on the second story floor.
