S3E9 feel the night
Christmas time was rolling around, everything decorated.
Miguel was in the Miyagi-Do studio. He walked over and looked at a picture of Mr. Miyagi. "So this is the guy that founded Miyagi-Do?" He asked. Sam was sitting on the stretching. "That's Mr. Miyagi. He taught my dad everything he knows."
"Oh, like how Sensei Lawrence learned from Kreese." Miguel said as he started to walk. Sam looked up at him with hard eyes. "Mr. Miyagi was nothing like Kreese." She said as she stood up. "Miyagi taught karate the right way, focusing on defense." Sam said as her and Miguel walked around the area. "Yeah, but sometimes the best defense is more offense." Miguel said what Johnny had told them. "This is the problem. Our styles are so far apart. Your Sensei will never see eye to eye with my dad." Sam sighed. Miguel's lips curled up some, in a sort of smile. "I think it's the other way around."
Miguel looked over and saw the small drum. His smile fading as he picked it up. "What's this?" He asked her. Sam smiled seeing it. "An Okinawan hand drum." Miguel tapped it with his finger. "What does it do?" He asked, looking over at her. Sam smiled more. "I'll show you." The two walked I time the center. "Try to hit me." Sam smiled. "I'm not gonna try to hit you." He said with a laugh. "What? Scared you'll get beat by a girl?" She sassed. Miguel took a deep breath to hide his small laugh. "All right. Here it comes." He punched and same blocked like Daniel did all those years ago against Chozen. "That's pretty good. But I hit some secret moves of my own." Miguel said with a smile on his face. "Oh, really? Do you?" Sam smiled
"Yeah. Here, put your arms out." Miguel took her arms, pulling them towards him. He then used that to quickly and gently take her to the ground.
Miguel looked down at the girl with a smile. She was smiling back. "See? Impossible to defend." He smiled at her. Sam grabbed his shirt and pulled him down to her, kissing him. Daniel walked in. "Woah, Woah Woah! " He covered his eyes. The two separated quickly. "Dad!" Sam said embarrassed. "Sorry. Sorry uh...is that my drum in your pocket?" He asked Miguel.
Robby was rolling up his sleeping bag, hearing Kreese train. Robby walked out of the back room, watching. Kreese looked over at him. "He rises." Robby finished crossing the distance to him. "Sorry you had to sleep on the floor." He told the younger boy. "Slept in rougher places." Robby shrugged.
"Likewise. If you want some coffee, it's not great, but it's hot." He gestured. Robby glanced over before looking back at him. "Thanks for letting me crash here. It was just for the night." Kreese nods some. "You stay as long as you like. Come here. Maybe you'll learn something." He brought Robby you in front of the punching dummy. The door chimed as it opened, students walking in. "This is called the Cobra strike, it consists of two moves, the lunge and the bite." He said. Kreese was about to show him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Eli asked in a angry voice as he walked in. Robby turned around to look at him as did Kreese. Kreese pointed at Eli making him stop. "Hold on there, Mr. Keene is our guest." Robby looked from Kreese to Eli. Eli turned his hard look back to him. Tory walked over and gave Robby a slight nod.
Eli was in the back office with Kreese. "He's not one of us." He stated. Kreese had a cup of coffee as he walked towards the boy. "With the Ally Valley back on, we need as much strength as we can get."
"We don't need him. He out Miguel in the hospital. He's the enemy." Eli said, trying to convince Kreese. "You know, when I was overseas, it was hard to tell who was the enemy. A defenseless local one minute would pull a knife on your throat the next. But you know what I learned?" Kreese sat on the edge of the desk. Eli looked at him. "What's that?"
"The enemy of your enemy is your friend." He said as he took a sip of coffee.
Robby was working on folding his clothes when Tory walked over. "Quiting already?" She asked. Robby looked at her. "Never joined in the first place. I don't belong here."
"Oh, so you're running away?" Tory said with a disappointed nod of her head. "That worked out for you well last time." Robby stood up looking at the girl. "I'm not running away."
"I hated you for what happened to Miguel, you know. I hated Sam LaRusso. I hated everyone. I hated myself the most. I didn't have the luxury of running away. Sensei Kreese taught me that if you take all that hate and you channel it.." Tory turned to the punching back and kicked it twice before punching it. "It makes you stronger and it feels good. Listen, a bunch of us are getting together after class. You should come. Or you could run away again." Tory said as she walked out back to the dojo.
Eli, Kyler and Tory as well as two others stood in the woods, drinking beer as they spoke. "Ok, we've got one shot at this. Quick, in and out, we'll be good." Eli told them. "Know what you gotta do?" He asked Kyler. "Hell yeah. Let's go." The boy replied.
"All right, sweet." Eli said. Robby was walking up to the group of five. "Someone took their sweet ass time." Tory said when she saw Robby. "You invited him?" Eli asked with narrowed eyes. Tory looked at Eli, unfazed. "I did. Why? You got a problem with that?"
Kyler reached over and grabbed another can of beer. "Here you go, Keene." He held it to him. "I'm good." Robby said with a shake of his head. Eli huffed a small laugh. "What, you can't handle a sip of beer?" He asked making the others around them laugh. "No, I just don't need to drink to pretend to be cool." Robby said without missing a beat. Eli took a step towards Robby. "Yeah, that's funny." His voice was low and threatening. "All right. Let's get going." Tory said before anything could happen. Tory held the cut part of the gate open as the others slipped through. She looked back at Robby who was lagging behind. He looked skeptical. "Don't worry. It's not going to violate your probation. You got outta juvie, not Sing Sing." She said walking over. Robby smiled some. "You resorting towards peer pressure?" He asked in a teasing tone. She shrugged some. "Yeah, it's kinda my thing." Tory then turned and went through the gate. Robby following suit. Children could be heard.
"The zoo? Why do we have to sneak in?" Robby asked with some confusion in his voice. "You'll see." Tory said simply. Eli nods his head off to the side. "Come on, this way." He said as he started to lead the group.
Eli and the group walked into one of the buildings. A man speaking over the intercom. "Right, there's two cameras over there. The guard goes on break once every hour. We have less the five minutes." Eli told them in a hushed voice that was just loud enough for everyone to hear. "Okay." Kyler said with a nod. Robby looked over at Tory. "Five minutes to do what?" He asked curiously. "We're getting a little gift for Sensei." She smiled at him.
They were walking down a hall of reptiles, stopping in front if the Chinese Cobra. They walked through a door labeled staff only. Two boys waiting outside as a guard. Eli unzipped his bag and pulled out a burlap sack, he looked over at Kyler. "You got the snake pool?" He asked. Kyler looked around before sighing. "Oh, shit! Snake pole, right."
"I orchestrated this entire plan and you didn't bring the one thing you were in charge of?" Eli looked at him in disbelief. "I forgot, ok? I've got a lot on my mind right now. If I don't pass trig this semester, my dad's gonna shit in my mouth." He said firmly. Eli gave him a odd look. "Just reach in and grab the snake!" Tory said in a low hiss of a voice. "Are you insane? I'm not sticking my hand in there!" He said. Suddenly a man's voice called from down the hall. "Hey! Who's in there?"
"Shit!" Eli cursed, looking at the group. "We got go, let's go." Kyler said, pushing past Robby and Tory. Eli followed behind him then Tory. Roby stayed in the hall, looking down the hall.
The group besides Robby was outside. "What the hell, dumbass?" Eli said as he hit Kyler's arm. "Dude! At least I brought beer." Kyler said in a bored tone. "We failed the mission cause of you!" Eli said angrily. The group unaware that Robby was finally joining them. "Who said we failed?" Robby asked, holding up the bag which not admitted a hissing sound. "No way!" Tory said in shock, a smile on her face. "You got it? Unreal." Robby looked over at her with a smile. Robby opened the bag some, showing off the snake. Everyone cheered for him expect for Eli.
At cobra kai, Robby put the snake into the cage, holding it by the head. "Well done. I'm impressed. You showed fearlessness and leadership. And those are the qualities you neee to be a champion." Kreese said as he walked down the line before stopping in front of Robby putting his hand on his shoulder. "Good job. You're what cobra kai has been looking for. Do you see what you can accomplish when you work together? Alliances are important. For us and our enemy, because you better believe that they are making alliances too." He said as he stopped in front of Tory. Robby looked over at her. "What alliances?" She asked the older man. "Oh, you didn't hear? Uh, Diaz and that Larusso girk, yeah, they're working together. Yeah man they helped save the All Valley. They gave quite a speech. They make a pretty good team." Tory and Robby shared a look. A mix of surprise and hurt. "Well, it's getting pretty late. Dismissed." Kreese said. Tory turned and lrgt quickly
At the Larusso house Sam, Chris, Dimitri and a few others sat watching movies. "Well, this Christmas party's turning out to be ho-ho-horrible." Dimitri said making Sam look. "Yeah, Sam. I thought you said your parents were going to be out for the night. So why aren't we throwing a rager?" Chris asked. "There's a keg on the way. It's just gonna be a few more minutes." Sam said as she paced. "Can we at least put on a Christmas special? I'd even watch that creepy one with the little elf dentist." Dimitri said making Sam wrinkle her nose. "Yeah, I'm that bored." He said. The doorbell rang catching her attention. "It's here." She told them as she walked over to the door. The others turning around to watch.
Sam opened the door and Migue, Mitch and Bert walked in. The other two boys looking confused at Miguel. The Miyagi-Do students quickly got to their feet. "Oh hell no." Chris said as they walked over. "What the hell are you doing here? This isn't a keg party." Mitch said in disappointment and slight anger. "Wait..you Parent Trapped us? Why?" Dimitri asked Sam. "Look, I know we haven't always gotten along, but Cobra Kai is the bigger threat now. To all of us." She spoke, turning to face Miguel. "We think we'd stand a better chance against them if we joined forces. Two dojos Allred stronger then one." He added. "Look I know we've all done shitty things." Miguel said looking at the group. "Like breaking Dimitri's arm." Chris gave Mitch a accusing look.
"You started that fight." Mitch shot back, his eyes narrowed. "After you almost got me fired!"
Miguel looked at her. "This isn't going to work."
"It has to. We have one last shot at getting things right. Alone, we're nothing but if we work together, we have a shot. If we can't get over the past, the fighting will never end. We have to confront our enemies. This rivalry has to stop. One way or another." Sam said to the group.
