Johnny was doing a bunch of tasks with Miguel till he could finally walk by himself. Throwing away the crutches
Johnny was looking at the messages between him and Ali, waiting for a new one. "What about Johnny Lawrence Karate or Strike Hard Karate?' Miguel offered as names. Johnny wasn't paying attention to Miguel so the boy moved to the table. "Come on, Sensei, I'm trying to think of names for our new dojo." He said in a sigh. "How long does it take for Facebook messages to get delivered? " Johnny asked ignoring what he just said. "Ali lives in Colorado so probably a little while, right?" He turned to face the now amused Miguel. "It's instantaneous." Johnny sighed and closed the laptop. "Okay, his about All American Karate?" He leaned forward some. Johnny looked at him. "It's not good enough. We need something that tells do everyone we're the most badass dojo in the Valley." Miguel looked down at the table. "Yeah. It sucks that Cobra Kai's such a badass name."
Johnny leaned back in his chair. "What if we just keep that? But we spell cobra with a K. They can call us triple K." He suggested. Miguel looked at him with a face that showed how bad of a idea it was. "Like KKK?" His voice was low. Johnny took a deep breath. "Yeah, it's probably a bad idea. All right, whatever. We'll figure it out. First, we need some students." He leaned forward on the table looking at Miguel. "It's my first day back at school today. I could do some recruiting. But where are we going to train?" Miguel asked the two men standing up from the table but still facing each other. "You let me worry about that." Johnny told him.
At the school Miguel walked in, a smile on his face. A few girls off to the side talking. "There he is." One said. "No way!" The second girl smiled at him. The students started clapping. On the staircase hanging on the rail was a banner that said 'Welcome back Miguel'. Everyone greeted him happily. The boy smiling at that. He walked down the hall. "El Serpiente!" Eli said as he walked over, smiling. Miguel looked over at his friend with a smile. "What's up?" Miguel smiled, the two hitting hands and pulling them into a friendly hug. "Welcome back, man." Eli said as he patted his back. "Feels good to be back." The two separated. Eli looked at Miguel's legs. "They give you bionic legs or some shit?" He asked, making Miguel laugh some. "No, same old boring human legs."
"Oh, yeah? Can you still throw down? Gotta defend that title." Eli said, chuckling as he is threw light punches at him. "Gotta get through me first. Dude, Cobra Kai is crushing it right now." Miguel's smile faded some. "I've actually been meaning to talk to you about that." The school bell rang. "I'll talk to you about it at lunch." He said. "All right, sure." Eli agreed.
The two going separate ways. Miguel was walking. "What's up, Miguel?" A random guy greeted ,high fiving him. "Hey. What's up?" Miguel replied before seeing Dimitri, a confused look on his face. Dimitri had a cast going to a bit over his elbow. "Hey, the Comeback Kid! Welcome back." Dimitri greeted Miguel enthusiastically. "I hope to make a similar triumphant return to the land of the mobile appendage masses." He said, holding up his arm. "What's up with the cast?" Miguel asked curiously. "Proximal radius fracture." He said. Yasmine walking over. "It smells." She stated, lips pursed. Miguel cast Dimitri a confused look. "It put a lemon rind down there to mitigate that. The invitation for you to sign it still stands." Dimitri said, getting a sharpie put of his pocket. Yasmine made a small humming sound. "Hard pass." She said, looking at him. "At least when you used to be a thorn in my tits, you were getting me an A in science. Now you can't even do that because you're defective." She said sassily before walking away, leaving the two.
"So, uh...how'd you break your arm?" Miguel asked. Dimitri looked at him with a soft but serious look, thinking of how to answer before just saying. "We've got a lot to catch up on."
Dimitri got his lunch tray to balance on his casted arm, watching it to make sure it didn't fall. Dimitri's elbow hit Kyler, knocking him forward. Kyler turned and looked at him. "Oh, crap." Dimitri muttered. Kyler looked him up and down. "Oh, you thought I was going to knock down your tray? Come on, man. I'm better then that." He took the tray from Dimitri, his voice soft. Kyler then threw it into the trash. "Hey, what else do you need help with? Want me to sign your cast? Say no more." All softness was void from Kyler's voice.
Mitch was walking to go sit with the other cobra kai students. Eli put his foot up, blocking the chair. "Sorry, party's full." Mitch's smile faded instantly. "Where am I supposed to sit?" He asked, glancing at the others. "The rejects table. Over there." Eli told him, nodding towards where to small, scrawny boys were sitting. The Cobra Kai students laughs. Eli stood up when he saw Miguel walking over. "Hey man." He greeted. Miguel had a angry look on his face. "I heard what happened to Dimitri. How could you do that?" He asked in a tone if disbelief and anger. Eli's face turned stony. "You should be thanking me for getting revenge on Miyagi-Do. Besides, they are the ones who started the fight. We finished it." Miguel shook his head. "That's not what our Sensei taught us."
"He's not my Sensei anymore." Eli stated. Miguel looked at him. "After everything Sensei Lawrence did for you, you betray him?" He couldn't believe what was happening. "He betrayed us."
Miguel took a deep breath. "Look, this isn't you talking. It's Kreese, he's got in your head." He spoke low, keeping calm. "You can change that if you leave Cobra Kai and join Sensei Lawrence's new dojo. If you come, others will follow. Okay? We can show everyone that we aren't just a bunch of bullies." He looked at him, eyes hopeful. "It could be like before." Eli lost his tough look, seeming to go back to normal. "He has a new dojo?" He asked looking at his friend.
"Hey, guys. Check this guy out. Standing around with a dick in his hand." Kyler said loud, getting everyone's attention. He was holding up Dimitri's arm to show the art he did on the cast. All the students laughing. He pulled away from Kyler and walked out. "So, these are your friends now?" Miguel asked, turning to face Eli. Before turning and walking away.
Johnny walked through the halls of the high school before reaching Miguel's locker. "Sensei?" Miguel asked, confused as to why he was there. He glanced around. "How'd you get through security?" Johnny moved a bit closer. "I went to school here. You think I don't know all the secret ways in?" He asked, amused. "Hey, I got some good news. I found us a pretty sweet spot for our new dojo." Miguel looked at him, hope bright in his eyes. "Yeah?" His voice was soft. Johnny only gave a slight nod. "How's the recruiting coming?" He asked. Miguel's smile fell, shaking his head he turned to walk away. "That bad?" Johnny asked, following after him. "It's just everything's changed, Sensei. Cobra Kai, they...they all drank the Kool-aid."
"Kool-aid? What's wrong with Kool-aid?" Johnny asked, a bit confused on the phrase. Miguel moved in front of him, both stopping. "It's just... Sensei Kreese it's turning them into an army of assholes. There's no convincing them to leave." Johnny didn't say anything. His eyes flickering around before landing on Eli and a few others. "Wait here." Johnny told him before walking over.
Miguel followed behind Johnny. "OK listen up!" Johnny said, catching the Cobra Kai boys attention. "I screwed up and I'm sorry. I made it about me and that's not what a Sensei does. I took the easy way out. I gave up." Johnny said. Mitch and the two boys he sat with at lunch listening in to what their old Sensei had to say. "What happened here at this school it rocked me to my core. I couldn't look myself in the eye, let alone face all of you." He gestured to them. "Yeah. I guess it makes it easier to tell yourself that. But the truth is, you bailed on us long before that fight happened." Eli said, walking closer to him. A angry look on his face. "You got soft and we paid the price.' Johnny closed the distance between him and Eli. "Now you listen up. When you came into my dojo, you were softer than a baby's ass. I made you what you are, not Kreese. He doesn't give a shit about you. About any of you. So if you wanna keep whining about the past like a bunch of pussies, fine. We can play that game. You wanna stick with Kreese? Go ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you when your life ends up in the shitter. Or you could sack up and join my dojo. Havenhurst and Magnolia, tomorrow at four. If you want to save yourselves and train the right way, you better be there." He said as he backed away, looking at them all. He shoved past two. "And don't be late!" He called back, hitting the books out of a boys hands. "Sorry kid, old habit." He said as he kept walking. Miguel was smiling.
Johnny paces in the park, talking to his students. "This is day one. We've been here before. But things are different now. They tried to tear us down, but it didn't work! They said we needed a roof and four walls. Screw that! This park will be our new dojo. Because you don't need a dojo to be a dojo! Is that understood?" Johnny asked as he stopped pacing. "Yes Sensei!" Miguel and the other five students yelled back. "I started cobra kai with one nerd. This is a step up. And if we are going to be taken seriously we need a name tat commands respect. A name that elicits power and dominance. Cobra are strong. They may be the king of the jungle, but the world's more than just a jungle. And there only one animal that can kill a snake."
"A mongoose?" Bert asked, looking at Johnny. "A real animal, Bert." Johnny replied. Bert looked confused. Johnny scanned the ground before turning away and going towards a box, pulling out a shirt. "Welcome to Eagle Fang Karate." He unfolded the shirt, showing the logo. Everyone murmuring in amazement. "Uh, Eagles don't have fangs-" Mitch started to say before Johnny threw the shirt roughly at him. Johnny then started to distribute the shirts. "Put em on!" He yelled. Everyone was pulling on their shirts. Mitch's stomach showing some. "Is anyone else feeling a little snug?"
"Do some more sit-ups." Johnny told him. "All right, everyone fall in!"
Miguel looked behind Johnny. "Sensei look." He nods his head towards that direction. Johnny looked back and saw Eli and two others walking up. Johnny smiled and looked over at Miguel. "Still got it." He said with a chuckle. "All right, everybody. Looks like our class just got bigger. Make room." Johnny turned to face them. Eli glanced back, Tory and Kyler now walking into view. Then others and Kreese following. "I told you. Cobra Kai for life." Eli said as Kreese made his way to the front. "Don't worry Johnny. I'm not here for a fight." Kreese said taking off his sunglasses. "Yeah? Then why the hell are you here?" Johnny asked, stepping closer. "I'd like to make you another offer to come back to Cobra Kai where you belong."
"You're crazy if you think I'm ever teaming up with you again. The garbage you're feeding them, the shit they're pulling, it's messed up! You're to blame for that." Johnny said in a bitter tone. Kreese just looked at him. "I have to disagree with you there. I care about my students. They're strong and they're true fighters. And they wouldn't make the mistake of showing mercy and ending up in a coma!" At that Miguel walked up with a angry look, he stood behind Johnny. Eli walked up at the same time, watching Miguel. Johnny moved towards Eli but Kreese put at hand out, pushing Eli back into rank in a gentle movement. "This is it, Johnny. There's not going to be another chance." Johnny bared his teeth in a sort of snarl. "Good." He said in a cold tone. "You made your choice and you are going to regret it." Kreese said. Johnny just glared as the older man and students walked away
