S2E1 mercy part 2

Daniel pulled the tarp off one of the cars, his eyes landing on the familiar yellow 1947 Ford Super De Luxe. "Woah." Robby said, looking at it. "And he gave you this?" He looked over at Daniel. "Yeah, the best birthday gift ever." Daniel said with a smile forming on his face. "I see a can of wax in my future." Robby said, his lips curling up into a smile. "Eventually but there's more before that." Daniel patted him on the back.

Robby was painting the house, his injured arm in a sling. He was painting it the same green Daniel had painted it. They were working on straightening up. Taking down the old dusty punching bag, fixing and repainting the fence. Robby was sanding the floor, once he fixed he rolled his shoulder back, it was sore from the work. He took the sling off and rolled his other shoulder, it felt better. Him and Daniel pulled the tarps off all the cars. Soon they were waxing them, before the day ended all four cars were waxed and looked nice.

Daniel and Robby were in a small pond, a large round wooden disc in the middle of it. The two were carrying Bonsai trees, they sat them down on the wooden area. Daniel's side tipping into the water. "No move you're back a bit, it has to be perfectly balanced." Daniel told Robby. Robby moved the tree back and eventually found the right spot and it was balanced, not a single side in the water. "See that?" Daniel asked.

Dusk was starting turning the sky and air a odd blue that only happened as the sun was rising or it was setting. The two males walked onto the back, Robby smiled proudly. The area looked amazing.

"So you might be wondering what the team does after winning a championship." Aisha said, talking into her phone. "The answer. Victory nachos." Everyone at the table cheered. Sitting at the table was Aisha, Demetri, Eli and Moon. "It was supposed to be a round of drinks but the waitress was not feeling Hawk's fake id." Eli leaned across the table towards her, talking in a whispered voice. "Hey don't talk about that. My parents follow you." Aisha turned back to the phone. "Sorry Mr and Mrs. Moskowitz. Anyways, until next time, no mercy bitches." Aisha ended the video and sat down by Demetri who was holding a nacho. "I have to say it feels good to be at at victory party." He said, right as he was going to put it in his mouth Eli swooped in and stole it. "Yeah except you had nothing to do with the victory." He said as he ate the chip. "Then I take it as a belated party for the coding competition we won at computer camp. Remember?" Demetri was looking across at his friend. "Demetri and Eli. Binary brothers." He sang in a robotic voice, making the two girls laugh. "Hey cool it with the nerd shit." Eli whispered to him, Demetri's smile fading from his face. "Hey where's Miguel? He's wings are getting cold." Moon asked

Miguel was sitting alone, away from the team. Eli and Aisha walking over. "There you are." Eli smiled as he sat on one side, Aisha on the other. "This is how you celebrate a first place trophy?" Aisha asked with a small laugh. "She blocked me." Miguel's voice was sad as he stared down at the table. "So what do you do when when blocked? You counterpunch. Maybe just don't hit her this time."Eli said with a laugh, Aisha sent him a glare. "What to soon?" Eli asked innocently. "Look all I'm saying is don't give up." Miguel sat up, finally raising his eyes but still not looking at his friends. "It's not use, I blew any chance I had with her." His voice sounded defeated. "Just give Sam some time, she'll come around." Aisha said in a soft and comforting voice. "Or she won't." Eli had cut in. The two looked over at him. "You the champ now. Every girl in the valley will want you. You're like Drake. Enjoy it." Eli said with a chuckle, lightly hitting his arm as he stood up and walked back to the table. Aisha patted his arm. "I'm not sure I want to be Drake." Miguel murmured, "Don't worry. You're not." Was Aisha's response, making the boy laugh.

The next day Daniel was in the dojo, taking the shelves down to move them into three dojo at Miyagi-Do instead of the one at his house. Robby walked in. "Hey." The boy smiled. He noticed a box and looked in it, picking up a small drum by its handle. "Careful. That drum saved my life." Daniel told the boy. Robby sat it back in the box. "Sorry I didn't mean to touch it." He apologized. Daniel smiled. "Nah, it's just a toy. But then again not everything in Miyagi-Do is what it seems." Robby gave him a smile before something else caught his eye. He walked over to it, Daniel following. "That's the medal of Honor. The highest honor awarded by the US military." Daniel said, his eyes on it and the case he made to go around it. "I didn't know Mr. Miyagi was a war hero." Robby responded, a smile on his face. "Yes he was." Daniel was looking at them fondly. "I guess it wasn't always bonsai and kata."

Robby walked over slightly. "What are these?" He asked with curiosity in his voice. He was gesturing to two banners with Japanese writing on them. "I'm glad you asked." Daniel followed his student over. "First rule of Miyagi-Do karate: karate is for defense only." He said, his hand pointing towards one, then he moved to the other. "Second rule of Miyagi-Do karate. It's really all about that first rule." He told the younger boy with a smile on his face. "I think Mr. Miyagi would make a exception to Cobra Kai. I mean when my father learns what we're doing, he wouldn't know what hit him." Robby said with a huge smile, he started walking out. Daniel was watching him as he left, a concerned look on his face.

Miguel and Eli got to the dojo and were talking till the noticed the new students in front of the place. Smirking, Eli approached. "Hey, mouth breathers, move it." He said in a demanding voice. Two boys quickly moved aside. "Sorry." Mitch, a chubby boy with curly brown hair, said. "I'll get the door." Chris said, her had shaved black hair and dark skin. "Do you want to be Cobra Kai huh?" He asked the two. After asking Eli raised his fists and made and move at them, making them flinch. He chuckled. "You got and long road ahead." He walked into the building, Miguel following him. Mitch hit his arm. "Why'd you do that?" He asked. Chris looked confused. "I didn't do anything." Mitch just rolled his eyes and walked inside, leaving the confused boy outside.

Miguel looked around at the fire mark and the broken mirror. "What happened here?" He asked. Aisha looked over and shrugged. "Sensei must of had a party." She replied, a small smile on her face. "Must have been pretty wild if fire got involved." Eli pointed out. Miguel was still looking around. "Look how much glass there is." Him and Eli had started walking again. "I wonder why he didn't invite us." Eli chuckled some. The new students had walked in, talking among themselves. "Quite!" Johnny yelled, silence instantly following. "The dojo is closed today to new students." Chris gave him a look. "We just wanted to sigh up after we saw the tournament," Johnny turned his blue eyes to him. "Do I need to say it again? Get out." Mitch nods his head, backing up some. "Yes, sir. Sensei, come on." He nods his head towards the door. All the new students started to walk out. "Let's go. Come back tomorrow and bring your checkbooks." He then turned to his students. "Fall in!" He called. The group instantly moving as he instructed.

"Must have been a rager Sensei." Eli commented with a smirk. "What did you do party all weekend?" Miguel asked. "Party for what? My students are a bunch of p*****s." Johnny said, making the smiles fall away from their faces. "Diaz, Hawk up front." He called. The two boys moved towards the front, a bit confused. The two faced the other students. "Hawk did you attack your opponent when their back was turned?" He asked, starting to circle, slowly. "Yes Sensei." Eli nods, casting a confused glance at Miguel. "Diaz did you purposefully attack your opponent's injury?" Miguel gave a slight nod of his head. "Yes Sensei." Johnny stopped walking when he was in front of the two. "Do you think that makes you more of a badass?" The two looked at each other. "What question to tough? Do you need some help?" Johnny asked before he started pacing again. "Ms. Robinson!" He called on Aisha. "Yes Sensei." She watched him as he walked. "Two cobras in the jungle. One kills the strongest lion and the other kills a crippled monkey, which cobra do you want to be?" He asked as he turned and started walking back the other way.  "The one that kills the lion, Sensei." She replied, her voice edging on confusion.  "Why is that?" Johnny looked over at her. "Because it killed a stronger animal."

"Correct! Cobra Kai is about being badass. And the baddest badass takes down his opponent when he's at his strongest. " Johnny said in a loud, clear voice. "Not when his back is turned! Not when he's injured!" As he said those two he got into Miguel and Eli's faces. "Is that understood?!" He turned back to pacing in front of the class. "Yes Sensei!" Everyone saud together, a voice of union. "That means no more cheating. No more fighting dirty. Those are p***y moves now. You don't want to be p*****s do you?" Johnny asked. "No Sensei!" Again in perfect harmony. "Good. That's why I had you wear your white belts. You're starting over. Hawk, Diaz, 50 push-ups on your knuckles. Ms. Robinson warm them up." He looked over at the two boys, "Yes Sensei." Aisha said. She  moved to the front. "Fighting positions. Jab punch." As the students warmed up. Miguel and Eli were doing perfect push-ups.

It was night time by now. Robby was hanging up the new sign for Miyagi-Do karate. He smiled at it before heading through the gate. From the dojo was a light, both doors closed. He saw the shadow of Daniel doing the breathing exercises Mr. Miyagi had taught him. Robby moved carefully and slowly opened the doors. Daniel's eyes were closed as he took deep breathes and exhaled. Hi hands rising from his chest then going back down and then out and back and repeat.

Daniel stopped and looked over at Robby. "Sorry for interrupting." The boy apologized. "No don't worry about it,." Daniel looked at him with his kind dark eyes. "Was that kata?" Robby was remaining in the door way. "No not kata. It's a way of  meditation that Mr. Miyagi taught me to use whenever I lost focus." He told the boy. "You lost focus?" Robby moved forward some. Daniel let out a sigh through his nose. "Not anymore." He opened the back doors that lead to the outside training area. "Ever since the tournament all I've been thinking about is how can we destroy cobra kai." He said, walking in front of Robby. "So you have the answer?" Some hope and curiosity hinted in the teens voice. "Yes, it's we won't." Daniel said it simply as he turned around to face him. "They are not our enemies. There is no enemies. Your dad, his students, they are just like you and me. Except they've been tought the wrong way. Miyagi-Do karate isn't about fighting Cobra Kai. It's about showing them a different way, a better way. Right?" Robby was looking at him with a thoughtful expression on his face.

"You got room for one more?" Sam asked from the door way of the dojo. "Yeah." Daniel smiled happily at his daughter. She took one step out the door, looking around. "The place looks great. The house has been painted, the decks been sanded. Dies that mean I'm off the hook?" She asked with a hopeful smile on her face. "Oh no, we'll find something for you. Now get over here." Daniel chuckled and gestured her over. Sam walked over to the two. Daniel and Sam hugged with a laugh. "All right. Not even open 24 hours yet and I've already doubled my roaster. I've got a good feeling about this." Daniel said, his eyes scanning the area. "Now the two of you should go get some rest, come this summer the two of you are going to be spending a lot of time back here together." The two teens looked at each other with a smile.
