Chapter 8
Silver did not trust Loki. She may have been incredibly trusting, but she wasn't stupid. She knew who he was and what he had done. Yet she felt like she should at least try and trust him. God, this would all be simpler if she could tell Zero. Zero would know exactly what to do. But did she even have a choice here? Remain on the carrier and know that lives were being lost, lives that she could save.
Clenching her fists so hard that her black nails cut into her palms, Silver came to a decision.
She grabbed her medical bag from her bed, and rushed out of her room. Her heels clicked loudly as she walked as fast as she could to her ward, the sharp sounds echoing off the walls. Flinging the door open, she headed to her supply drawer.
Instead of packing her bag logically, like she normally would have, Silver simply uppended her entire drawer into the black bag. Shaking it roughly to make sure all the contents had been deposited.
That done, Silver pulled the straps of the black backpack over her shoulders and tightened all the clasps. This was by far, the dumbest, most insane thing she had ever done in her life.

Loki sat on his cot, staring at the wall of his cell, waiting for Silver to return. If she returned at all. He wouldn't blame her if she didn't.
The door banged open and Silver stared imperiosusly at him with her violet eyes, "Let's go."
He jumped up, a jolt of joy running through him at the sight of Silver returning. Loki followed Silver out of the cell, only now fully realizing how much taller than him Silver was. Her strides were incredibly long, and Loki had two double his pace to keep up with her.
Turning into an abandoned corridor, Loki had to stop suddenly to avoid slamming into Silver, who'd spun around. She peered intently at him, "Can you portal out from here?"
"I should be able to."
Loki pressed a hand against the wall, and began casting the spell, creating a portal to the coordinates Silver had given him. Within minutes a swirling green portal stood in front of them. Turning around, Loki held out a hand towards Silver, "Let's go."
She glanced down at his hand, hesitating before grabbing it and following Loki through the portal.
