Chapter 9

Lucifer wanted to scream and cry and yell at the top of his lungs. He was rendered pathetic and useless in the stupid machine whilst they used him like an object for research. He would probably end up being the reason the world ended. The stupid scientists could probably find out where Lucifer's powers had originated from and then they could probably use it for something...

He didn't even know where his thoughts were going anymore.

-

Clyde stood up, refusing to look at the ice statues of his best friends. He walked past them and rushed out of the small house. It was up to him to save Lucifer and the 'world', wasn't it? Audrey, Elliot and Edwin were frozen and, therefore, completely useless. They couldn't help Lucifer. They couldn't save the world. They couldn't do anything.

It was up to Clyde.

He had no idea where he was meant to go.

-

"This is impossible!" Damian exclaimed, glaring at the other scientists like everything was their fault. "He's completely normal! I swear if he has been lying to us and he's just some idiot wanting to prank us-"

"Damian, calm down. We've probably just made a mistake. You saw what his friend did to our androids!" Another scientist spoke up, a tint of hope in his voice.

"His friend! He didn't do anything!"

"He melted one-"

"That must have been a coincidence.." Damian trailed off, staring down at his feet like he expected an idea to randomly form in his head. None of the other scientists dared to say a word, in fear that they would anger the man further. "That's it!" Damian suddenly yelled with an evil grin on his face. It was obvious that he was plotting his next evil move. "We need to capture his little friend! George, Tyler, send a group of androids to pick him up and make sure he doesn't get hurt... We don't want to scare the poor kid." There was something sarcastic in his tone.

-

It was exactly a day later when a van arrived at the small village which used to hold the supposed 'heroes'. Three androids filed out of it, guns strapped to their chest. They began to walk around the place, searching for a teenage boy with ice-coloured hair and red eyes. He, however, was nowhere to be found.

It was twelve hours later that they began to give up, realising the boy was long gone. They climbed back into the van, empty handed and disappointed. "Report?" A voice said in their ear pieces.

"Nothing. The boy seems to have disappeared, Sir." An android responded, his voice a monotone.

-

Roughly, it takes four hours to get back to their headquarters. The drive was always silent as androids aren't ones to feel the awkwardness of nothingness. However, after an hour of driving, one of the androids said something rather loudly. "Boy!"

All the other robots turned their heads in unison to spot Clyde who was sitting against a frozen tree, shivering and crying cold tears. "Stop!" Another yelled, forcing the car to a halt.

They all filed out of the vehicle and over to Clyde who hadn't noticed them yet. They bent down slowly, grabbing the boy by his arms and legs. Clyde let out a loud scream, thrashing around and trying to get away. Without his hands, he couldn't freeze the androids so he couldn't do anything.

Once he was thrown into the van, he took action. He thrust out both of his tinted blue hands and focused.

"Freeze. Freeze. Come on... freeze!" He thought to himself before cracking an eye open. He soon saw that the androids were nothing but frozen statues. He celebrated silently before shoving past them. He slammed the doors shut behind him and climbed into the front. He smirked to himself, realising that getting to the bad guys' headquarters wouldn't exactly be the hardest thing in the world.

Clyde remembered back to when Elliot and Audrey had told him and Lucifer about how their vans drove themselves. He leaned forward and flicked up the random switch and the car sprang to life. "Starting engine. Destination: Headquarters." Clyde jumped at the loud robotic voice but smiled widely as the van began to drive forward.

He was on his way to save Lucifer.

-

"They couldn't find him... they couldn't find him!" Damian yelled, hitting his fists against the table. "Where could he be? He's probably on his way to save his stupid, normal friend... I know exactly what we should do..." Damian paced up and down the room, his chin rested on his hand. He wasn't exactly talking to the scientists in the room, more himself. "I know exactly what we should do!"

There was an evil feeling to his creepy smirk and dark, vicious eyes.

"We can kill Luke or whatever the boy's name was. He's useless now and it would be a lovely surprise for his little friend... This will be brilliant.. And we can get the boys out of our way!"

With a malicious grin, Damian stared through the glass at his subject for research; his experiment.

Lucifer urged to move and to squirm and to scream but he couldn't. He couldn't fight at all; all he could do was watch, listen and wait. Wait for his torture, for the next test, for his.. murder. He watched with wide, terrified eyes as Damian approached the circuit of controls. Any button would surge pain into poor Lucifer whilst he couldn't even scream.

"Do you want that, Lucifer? Would you like me to kill you and hurt your little friend?"

"No! No! No!" Lucifer thought, just wanting to clench his fists and hurt Damian.

Damian pressed a button and an excruciating pain surged into the palms of his hands. It was like an electric current running through him, making him want to scream in agony. His eyes were clenched shut as he tried to hold on to hope.

"Say nothing for yes." It was sick. Damian was getting a high out of the pain he was giving Lucifer. He was wearing the most wicked grin and he had a look in his eyes which had insanity written all over it.

Lucifer focused. It was a hard thing to do when electricity was running through his body, putting him in continuous agony. He had his eyes clenched shut and he focused all of him onto the man through the wall of glass.

Another button was pressed and pain ran through Lucifer's legs too.

"I press this button and the shock will run straight to your heart and-" A scream filled the air and Lucifer couldn't help but smile through the pain. Damian was crying out and, with a flash of light, he silenced. Lucifer forced open his eyes and, suddenly, he was no longer in pain. The room that was blocked off by glass was in flames and Lucifer pulled himself free of the wires. They seemed to just fall out without the machine to hold them in place.

Lucifer smiled so widely because he was free.. he was free! Damian and the other scientist were amidst the flames and they were soon to die.

Maybe he and Clyde really could save the world.

Lucifer opened up the door and stepped into the room of flames. He was engulfed but, due to his state, he wasn't affected. He walked out of that room too like he was the boss of everything. Fire alarms rang loudly, making him wince. He ignored it, just trying to focus on getting out of the building.
