Chapter Six

I cried until my eyes were dry, and I heard a soft voice in the distance. I stood and peered around a tree to see a shirtless boy my age, tall, with really nice abs, and strong arms. I found myself blushing and staring, and did't notice that he had saw me until he was right in front of my face.

"Like what you see?" He chuckled.

"Oh, uh, sorry." I stuttered.

"No problem," He offered me a hand. "I'm Devin."

"Julia..." I muttered, my thoughts lost in his dreamy blue eyes. I could tell his light brown hair was really soft too, just from the look of it.

A sharp pain hit my head and chest and I cringed. I saw Devin do the same. When he looked at me again, his eyes were a coal black, and the glistened a few times before his blank stare went back to a smile.

"Sorry!" He shook his head. "I, uh... do you, wanna, go... head back to the main town and maybe get something to eat?" Devin asked.

"Uh, sure!" I smiled, but my eyes were stilled averted to his toned chest.

Devin caught me starting and chuckled a really nice sexy kind of chuckle.

Julia! Calm yourself! And stop staring! Ugh! He's just so... attractive... No! Stop daydreaming!

"Julia?" Devin asked.

"Huh? What?"

"You okay?"

"Yeah! I was just staring off into space I guess..."

"Okay..." He laughed, and now he had a shirt on. Bummer.

He guided me out of the forest to the main road, and down to a couple of shops. "You like pizza?" Devin asked me.

"Yeah." I relpy.

"Cool, then we can eat here." He said and held the door to a pizzeria open for me.

"Thanks." I said.

"No problem."

We sat down at a booth and ordered a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza with two arnold-palmers.

I laughed as he told me that he had three younger brothers that loved to pull pranks on everyone and anyone. He talked about himself, some of his hobbies like playing football and paintball along with hanging out at the local arcade.

"So what about you?" He asked. "What do you do for fun?"

I smiled. "I love to paint, and I also love to read."

"You play any sports?" Devin wondered.

"If dance counts, then I guess." I shrugged.

"That's cool." Devin smiled at me.

"Do you have any siblings?"

"I-" I stopped myself, remembering that Kayden was dead. Gone. What do I say?

Tears filled my eyes and Devin reached across the table and held one of my hands.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any bad memories. You don't have to answer that question." Devin rubbed the back of my hand soothingly, making me feel calm, and relived.

I nodded my head and wiped away the tears. "Lunch is on me." He said and pulled out his wallet.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yeah, don't worry about it." He shook it off.

"Thanks."

"Anytime."

Devin payed the bill, and lead me back outside. "Need a ride home?" He asked.

"Yes please." I nodded and we walked to the parking lot.

"Just out of curiosity," Devin started, "but why were you in the woods earlier?"

Devin opened the passenger door of his black Ferrari for me, and then walked around to his side as I closed my door.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you the truth." I sighed.

"Same here." He laughed off the topic.

Now I began to wonder. Why was he in the woods earlier? Just hiking with his shirt off? But he was talking... to himself? Or to someone else?

"Where do you go to school?" Devin asked, killing my train of thought.

"I'm new in town, so I'll be going to... uh..." I sighed. Of course I would forget the name of the school that I now attend.

"Prince High?" Devin asked, hope filling his eyes.

"Yes!" I clapped. That would be right.

Devin smiled. "So we'll be at the same school then." He grinned. "I'll be a senior, what about you?"

"Junior." I answered.

"Nice." He nodded.

Devin drove into my neighborhood, but he had no clue which house was mine. "Right here." I pointed at my house and he pulled into the empty driveway.

"Shut up!" Devin laughed.

"What?" I giggled.

"Do you really live right here?" He asked.

"Yeah..." I said.

"I don't believe you." Devin shook his head. "There's no way!"

"Come on in, I'll show you!" I laughed and he followed me to the front door. I unlocked it with my key and he stared, jaw dropped to the floor. "What is so amusing about opening a door?" I joked.

"Nothing, it's just that I happen to live right next door." Devin laughed and closed the door behind him as we walked inside.

"Really?" I beamed.

"Yeah!" Devin continued laughing as I lead him to the living room.

"Make yourself at home." I smiled and he plopped down on the couch.

"I can't believe I didn't notice you move in!" Devin chuckled as I sat down next to him.

"Yeah?" I grinned.

"I would've thought I'd notice such a pretty girl sooner." He looked me in the eyes and I blushed.

"Shut up!" I laughed and playfully punched him in the arm. "I am not pretty."

"It's the truth!" Devin defended with his hands in the air.

"Yeah right." I rolled my eyes and laughed.

An awkward silence fell around us, and I found myself locking eyes with Devin. We slowly instinctively leaned closer together until our lips met in a soft kiss.

Devin pulled away and again locked eyes with me. This time, he leaned over me and I lightly wrapped my arms around his neck as our lips met in a more heated kiss.

Each time after that, as we broke away for air then came back for another kiss, it became twice as powerful and passionate as the last.

Devin licked my bottom lip, asking for entrance, but I denied as his hands traveled down my body. There was a sense of our actions being so right that pulled us together, something that made me not want to stop. This just felt so... right.

Devin's hands traveled down to my outer thighs, and he kissed down my jawline, making me gasp. He used that as an advantage and slipped his tongue into my mouth, exploring what he could.

I could't believe this feeling, it was so passionate. I felt... love. I wanted Devin, and butterflies flew theough my stomach with every move that was made.

I moaned as he began working on taking my shirt off, but we were interrupted by a knock on the front door.

I pulled away, a string of saliva connecting out mouths and I sat up. "Sorry, I'll get it." I said and hurried to the door with a slight blush on my face.

I can't believe that just happened. Making out with the first good-looking guy I find. Really smart of me, that's for sure.

I opened the door, while wiping my mouth, and saw that no one was there.

"Hello?" I called out and leaned out the door a little bit. "Hello...?" I called again.

I turned to close the door, seeing that there was no one there, but yelped when something grabbed my ankle and dragged me down.

I was blindfolded and a hand flew over my mouth to keep me from screaming.

"Shh!" I heard someone whisper. "We don't want Devin to know we have her!" The voice again whisper-shouted as I slowly lost consciousness.
