I screamed at Leah, or rather I barked, or howled, or growled... I'm not really sure which. I had no control over my new form, the paws - I guess my paws - were different from my feet, I was on four limbs instead of two, my vision was at a slight blur, and I felt ten times bigger than a human being. I stumbled - a fail attempt at a lunge - and fell to the ground as Leah moved in to make the final blow.

I whimpered, there was nothing I could do to help Kayden.... He laid there covered in blood, heaving every single time he took a breath, and had his eyes tightly shut like he knew what would happen.

"Finally I get to meet you!" A voice in my head said. I looked around confused. "I'm your wolf, Midnight, and let me take over, I'll handle this."

Suddenly my body wasn't mine, and it was like I was watching a YouTube video of someone playing a first-person shooter. I could even hear someone talking as if doing a commentary!

"I'm dead!" I laughed hysterically. "And this is some crazy after life!" I roared.

"Can you shut up?" The voice asked. "You're kinda creeping me out, and you're ruining my focus."

I laughed madly again, and watched as I took down Leah. This can't be right. There's no way I'm still alive.

"Welcome to the life of a werewolf sweetheart!" The voice spoke once more.

Leah's wolf howled in pain, the sudden blow had thrown her off, and she hadn't been hit like that in a long time.

Not taking any chances, Leah cautiously stood up, wincing at the slightest pains, and careful of avoiding me, bounded out of the waterfall.

She's gone.

For now.

Still in wolf form, information began flooding into my mind, memories that weren't even mine invaded my head, both positive and negative energy.

"I'm a werewolf..." I gasped and shifted back to human form. I slumped to the ground, a sharp pain in my head.

"K-Kayden!" I yelled out to my unconscious brother who too, was also back in human form.

I sprinted to his side and kneeled next to his dying, bloody, and cold body. I reached for his wounds, but stopped. I couldn't do anything about them, I didn't even know how to treat them.

"Please... just leave me." Kayden whispered to me. "I don't want you to be here's when the lights leave my eyes..." I could barely breathe at his words.

"No..." I choked back a sob and tears spilled down my cheeks. "Don't leave me alone! Please..." I touched my forehead to Kayden's shoulder and he stroked my hair one last time before his hand fell limp.

The last words he managed to mutter: "I'm with them now, Jules... we'll always be watching over you, don't forget that one day we will be reunited..."

I turned away with Kayden's hand in mine, and let out a scream of anger, confusion, and terror. "I will see you again." I whispered. "But I can't promise that it will be anytime soon."

With those words, I stood and quietly left my cave. I let the tears flow freely, along with the occasional scream, and collapsed in the middle of the forest, letting the darkness consume me.
