Juwon pushed his assistant's hands away as she tried to straighten his tie. "I've got it."

He needed to call his friends into town. Maybe one of them would take an interest in Muna so she could get off his dick. He'd hired her because she came highly recommended but she'd somehow gotten attached to him. Almost as if she birthed him when she was only few years older than him.

"When is the ceremony starting?"

She checked her wrist before answering. "In few hours."

"You can take a break then. I won't be needing your services today."

"When are we leaving this dreadful place?"

"Really, Muna? I grew up here, remember?"

"No wonder you left. It's so dull and slow."

"That's what the locals appreciate the most, the peace and serenity the city lacks."

"Whatever you say."

He grunted and watched her sashayed out of his room. Muna was stunning in her own rights, she had the kind of beauty that hit you unexpectedly. She was also very charming and could win anyone over without crossing the lines. It had worked in his favour several times as he liked to send her to his annoying male clients.

He'd allowed her keep wearing her long weave even though it sometimes caught his face whenever she flipped it over her shoulders. He hadn't complained about the red lipstick she was fond of either. He was a non conformist and didn't like forcing others to conform to his lifestyle or standards. It was so against his nature.

Juwon used his cufflinks and got his wristwatch. He was dreading attending the burial but he had no choice. As soon as the bastard died of a heart attack, he'd felt like he used his own hands to kill him when all he had wanted was to get the land that was taken from his father several years ago. Gini had done most of the dirty work but he knew her father was the mastermind behind the scheme. That wasn't to say she was the reluctant participant.

Gini. He hated thinking about her. She was lucky her father stashed her away for good. He'd heard rumors back then that she'd migrated to another country oversees... good for her. He'd dealt with her father and avenged his dead father, that was enough.

When he initially arrived in town, he'd pretended to be an investor so no one would suspect him of owning the new store that was rivaling Gini's father's Big Fred. Big Fred as he called himself also had owned the biggest grocery store in town and Juwon had wrecked him by building a store twice as large as his. The locals were loyal followers so nobody had patronized his until he slashed the prices of the items into half. Of course, no one could pass up the opportunity of saving few coins, they'd came tumbling into his store in no time.

His lawyer and accountants had called him the biggest kind of fool in the whole history of mankind for wasting honest money on revenge. But he'd had the last laugh when Big Fred followed in his footsteps to compete for his customers. Juwon had allowed him get back his customers by going back to the actual market price, while the fool had continued to sell his goods for half its price thinking he'd won and gotten back his customers.

Juwon got another idea and started a raffle draw at his store. He awarded the lucky winners with trips to Dubia or Paris with all expense paid for. The old man still didn't back down as Juwon knew he wouldn't, he wanted to compete where he couldn't compare. Big Fred had started by selling his cars as the store was hemorrhaging money and soon he'd put the land he stole from his father on sale. Juwon bought it and immediately put an end to the freebies going on in the store.

He'd later sold the store to a big company with chains of grocery stores in the country. They had expanded and added more stores, turning it into a mall and making it the only one in town. The youngins spent their days hanging around the cinema and burger joints, while the old ones enjoyed the gyms and spas. All this had happened in the space of two years. Big Fred then tried to take a loan from the bank to compete with the new mall but Juwon had found a way to block the transaction behind the scenes. He wasn't just rich now, he also knew some powerful people. All he did was call in a few favors and he'd been rejected by the bank.

His lawyer had once called him a psychopath for enjoying torturing the old man, but it was easy for him to judge. His face still had the long scar Big Fred had drawn with a switchblade from his temple to his jaw. He'd avoided the bastard when he arrived in town until he was to make a bidding for his father's land. It wasn't surprising when Big Fred refused to sell to him, he'd had to use an agency to buy the piece of land.

Juwon seethed as he thought about it. He shouldn't be feeling any form of guilt for his death, he had it coming a long time ago. He got a pair of sunglasses and walked out of the bedroom. Muna was in the recently furnished living room watching a reality TV show and Juwon shook his head as she barely noticed when he left the house. He couldn't fault her, the cable was her only form of entertainment since getting into town. He'd given her permission to go into the city and work from his firm in the capital but she'd refused.

Juwon got into his convertible and drove to the local Baptist church the funeral would take place. He saw several folks with their kids outside the steps of the church and he greeted some and nodded to others as he walked into the church. The service began thirty minutes later and he sat with his face impassive as the preacher talked about death, paradise and God's wish for his children.

Juwon stifled a yawn and tried to concentrate. The preacher stopped mid sentence and the congregation began buzzing. He looked around to find what caused the uproar and saw a very tall, skinny woman making her way to the front row.

Gini.

He could make her out from a crowd despite not seeing her in ten years. He'd felt a little stirring in his loins as she walked past his row but he attributed it to shock. He couldn't even be remotely attracted to her as he hated her guts. Juwon left the church as the sermon resumed. He couldn't believe she was back in town. He'd assumed she was going to stay far away. As he walked to his car, he was stopped by a neighbor.

"Mr. Ola," he said in greeting.

"Juwon. Can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Of course."

Juwon grew restless as the middle aged man bounced on his feet. He could tell he wanted to ask for a favour but felt uncomfortable doing so. He cleared his throat to remind him that he was still waiting for him to talk.

"Hmm, about the resort you're building by the river side."

"Okay?"

"My boy, you see he recently lost his job and needs another one."

Juwon quickly got his business card from his pocket and handed it to the man. "Tell him to call me, I'll find something for him."

"Ha, thank you."

"It's no problem. I need to be on my way now."

"Yes, bye," he said with a smile.

Juwon got into his car and got his phone then punched in his friend's number.

"Roman, I need some information about someone." Roman was a Private Investigator who was always glad to do a little digging.

"Who?"

"The girl that brought so much trouble to me and my dad."

"The same one that said you raped her so she and her dad could steal your generational land?"

"Yes, she's back in town."

Roman whistled. "That's not good. What do you want to know about her?"

"Everything."

"How far back?"

"Six months or a year. I want to know what she's been up to and why she's back in town."

"Could be because her father died," he replied like the smart ass he was.

"No. He knew I was in town before he died so he must have warned her. If she's here, she's here for something or someone."

"You mean you?"

"I don't know and that's why I need your help."

"Okay. I'll start digging."

"Thanks."

"Juwon?"

"Yea?"

"Don't be in a room alone with her. If she knows how rich you are now, she could pull the same old stunt."

"I'll be careful." He ended the call and started the car.

He got to the house and saw all his stuff packed.

"Muna?" he called and his assistant came bounding down the stairs.

She smiled. "You're back."

"What's going on?"

"You're done with your revenge project so it's time to leave this town."

"We aren't leaving."

"But you got back the land and built this magnificent house."

"I'm not done."

"The bad guy is dead, what's left for you to do?"

"His daughter is back."

She crashed into the sofa in distress. "No, no, no. I thought the story was over."

"Muna, I don't want you to remain here with me." Muna had spent two years with him in a town she hated so much. It was time for her to go back to the city.

"I can't leave you alone with her."

"I'll be fine. The firm needs you since I can't be there just yet."

"How long do you need this time?"

"Few weeks, tops."

"I'll come into town next week to check if she has you under a spell or not."

"Hilarious," he said without a smile.

Muna shrugged and got her luggage into the car. He waved as she drove out of the gate and went back in to arrange his things. Juwon then went online and ordered books on how to make a woman fall in love with you within a limited time.

If Gini thought she was going to fool him again, she had another thing coming. He was going to let her know two could play the game. He was mostly counting on her not knowing he knew all about her dirty scheme. He smiled at the thought of beating her at her own game.
