I stood at the counter, making my tea. My purple teacup was my favorite. I got it 3 years ago. The tea bubbled up into a red color. An eye floated to the top as I giggled, watching it turn to me. I grabbed the eye out and threw it into the sink. That's when I realized that I had no sugar. I walked to the cabinet, where I saw various food items. The bag of sugar, of course, some rotting tuna, a few canned goods, and some brown sugar. I grabbed the plain sugar and walked to the counter. I filled up the sugar container to the top and was about to close the bag. That's when I heard the door open. It was the monster. His previous wide smile was constructed onto a frown. He walked toward me and locked the door behind him as his girlfriend knocked on it outside.

You better not say any stupid shit like that again!? Do you understand me!?

I stood there confused. What did I say?... I didn't do anything wrong?... I smelt the drugs on him. He had also been drinking. I slowly walked to the other side of the room, not breaking eye contact. I stood by the knife block, shaking confused. He rolled his eyes and opened the door and walked out. Just as he did, his girlfriend opened the door and ran to me.

I nodded and started to cry. What did I say?... I didn't do anything wrong? I heard the car pull into the driveway and I saw my mom. I looked up at my brother's gf. She walked back out to my mom and to my brother who smoked in his car. I started to sob and cough scared. I ran to my room and hid under my blankets and tent. I started to cry more and more, terrified. I got a glance of myself in my phone reflection and I saw it. My eyes. They're turning green just like his. More purple tears ran down my cheeks as I coughed. The green kept spreading.
