PERSONALITY

a little flippant at times. mainly due to the environment he was raised in he finds himself disgusted at the idea of forming attachments. with his experiences anyone he comes to love a little to much results in their death. of course now he knows that it's now his fault, but when he was younger anyone he became attached with ended up in pain until eventually death took them. of course now he knows it was at his fathers wishes, but how could a chid understand that? as far as he knew he was simply cursed to never get the experience of a fun loving family, it devastate him and because do that he came to the brilliant decision that if he didn't take anything to seriously he could never become attached and therefore never experience the pain of loosing a loved one again. brilliant, i know, he has flawless logic.

but despite his clear issues when it comes to emotional attachment, overall he's quite a charismatic, humorous and calm kind of guy. some could even call him fun loving. as long as you don't get to close and you stay fixated on the attitude he carries in the eyes of the public, he's practically a walking day dream. he displayed the perfect prince, cool calm and collected, he's never broken down in public and no ones ever seen him lash out in the way his father does. appears he was blessed and didn't get the mood swing gene what a relief. who doesn't love a respectable prince?

he's not quick to anger at all, honestly this is his biggest selling point. though the fact that he is no way overly sensitive, he acts as if he doesn't feel at all at times, might be a little concerning. hard to tell if that was trained into him or he was born that way, hint: it's the first. in truth under all that glamour overplayed attitude he practically runs off emotions, it's hard not to after all he attached himself to his mother fingers instead of following after his father. because of that he's not only progressive but completely uncompromising. after all: the moment his mothers compromised they were sent to meet with death. especially his fathers fifth wife kathryn bellevae, it's a sore subject, all his fathers wives should go unmentioned around him. that's so far the only thing known to frustrate him, with everything else he finds the best way to defuse a situation is to not give them any rise at all. peak unproblematic.

BRIEF BACKSTORY

he was born to king stefen blackthorn vii and queen kylla marsei, the kings first wife. obviously he was titled the crown prince of elyria, set to inherent the throne from his father once he passes. then, unless he has children, his heir would be his older sister. by all accounts it should be assumed he lived a wonderful childhood, i mean how could a child complain? he was a prince, he was pampered had people attending to his every need. he was fed and never had to fear anything, by all accounts he might have thought himself immortal as a child. and yet, he hated his childhood, he cane to resents his father and constantly feared for his new 'mother-for-this-year' to the point he tested up when he was younger whenever his father told him he was getting married again. he refuses to attend executions, to many painful memories. yet asides from the constant slaughter of his mother figures, to some degree he was a happy child. he enjoyed constantly having people to talk to and made friends with a few of the staff in his life, sadly the only constant he's ever had. point is: he gets along well with his new soon-to-be-step-mother. they're a cute little duo, thought it's a little strange that they're the same age. life's good supposedly, he'll try not to think to hard on any execution business that may arise in the future.

recent history wise: there five princesses travelling to elyria to "court him". basically just royal marriage proposal bullshit. he is not here for it, not having any of it. he doesn't want to become attached to some women who's being forced to win his affection, utter nonsense. he'd rather choose his lover based off of destiny, he used to love such stories as a child usually pestering his current mother figure into retelling his such tales. people linked by destiny always finding each other and the likes, now days he scoffs at such things. even tho he may or may not secretly long for such a connection. certainly the person he'll end up falling in love with won't be someones he's been arranged to marry. he has made a point of vocally hating on the idea and sentiment to his father.

OPINION ON:
— the witch hunts.
the word treason always sounds so bitter to him, he can't stand it. yet he still takes everything at it comes, it's not like he can do anything to prevent the situation. he never attends any of the executions. doesn't mater, we don't deal with vulnerability in this household. closed topic.

— sexism.
he grew up attached to all his fathers wives, they were mothers to him, the only parental figures he ever come to love and respect. so of course he respects women, they're powerful independent and some of the bravest people he knows. after all, you have to be brave to not cry in front of someone like stefen he knows that first hand. he was a little emotional child okay

— homophobia.
elyria is a place of homophobia, can't deny that. so it only makes sense that he was raised with the word of a religious book building his views. he is completely against it, this doesn't respect sent the views of his admin but you know, culture is culture. if a kid is told something is wrong enough times they'll come to believe it, F

— other.
doesn't get along with khalidan winters, but his father likes her so there isn't much he can do about it, not like he would ever complain vocally.
