Sophie's P.O.V.

"Baby." Connor nuzzles his head into my neck, trying to wake me up gently. "It's time to get up." I whine and roll into his arms. He doesn't protest and pulls me to him. "Okay, maybe five more minutes." I smile and snuggle closer to him.

There's a banging on the door, and I smell Hunter. "You two are always the latest. Please, get up." He's technically our legal guardian, and my dad made sure he knew that we were to be as inconspicuous as possible, so going to high school is as normal as it gets. Everyone thinks we're his adopted children, Connor, Lily, Trish and I. We aren't really any trouble, but Connor and I have been late to school multiple times. It's kind of funny, because Hunter gets a call from the principal. He can't really tell us what to do, nor does he want to try, but he hates that man.

Connor chuckles lightly, and I feel the movement in his chest. "Give her a minute. She's waking up." I hear Hunter hesitantly walk away. "Alright, you heard him. We need to get up." I feel his soft lips on my forehead and look up at him. He places a soft kiss on my lips and I smile.

"Alright. I'll get up." I stretch in a cat like manner and slowly sit up. "It's not even 7:30. We have time Connor."

He nods. "That would be true, if you had taken a shower last night." I glare at him.

"Are you saying I stink?" He shakes his head, laughing.

"No, definitely not." With his enhanced speed, he comes to wrap his arms around my waist. "On the contrary, I love your scent." He slowly dips his head into my neck, affectionately nipping at it. I place my hands on his shoulders. My toes curl and, before he pulls away, he leaves a small kiss on my neck. "I'm gonna take a quick shower and get dressed." Connor releases my waist reluctantly. "Join me?" He asks hopefully.

I roll my eyes but smile. "I'll be in there in a minute."

Yes, Connor and I have fully mated. It was about a year ago. I don't know how he held back for so long, especially with us around a bunch of humans that don't understand our connection, but I had to hold back a lot too. There are so many girls that think he's free range despite him always being by my side, literally. He won't leave my side. It's been that way ever since I was run through. The farthest apart we are is when we're in the house.

*At School*

Connor holds my hand, and Lily walks to my left while Trish stands to his right. Being the only werecats and wolf in the school means we garner a lot of attention, but thankfully, it's only that of students. No one else cares.

Lily leans towards me. "I'll never get used to this." She's still shy, but she's gotten much better. She's a member of the track team, and they love her. I guess her being a cheetah makes her really fast, even faster than Connor, maybe.

I give her a smile and we walk to our lockers, which are all in one group. "Lily, it's normal for them to stare." Trish says. "We must seem interesting, almost scary. They don't understand our auras."

Neither Trish nor Lily have found their mates. I just hope that when they do, their mates accept them for what they are.

"Sophie." Someone says my name from behind Connor and he growls in his chest. I step closer to him, letting him know where I stand.

It's Issac. He's not exactly the brightest. He challenges Connor constantly. "Good morning Issac." I say to him.

"Morning." He smiles at Lily and Trish who, like Connor, try to keep their growling quiet. He's tried to take me away from Connor, multiple times. Lily and Trish feel that their clowder is being attacked. We may be small, but we are family.

"What do you want Issac?" Connor growls out, obviously not liking how close he is to us.

"Whoa, what's up with the hostility?" He smiles, but it isn't a kind smile. "I just thought that you all would like to meet the new students. They're in the cafeteria."

"We'll pass." Connor says, pulling me along with him.

I hear Lily and Trish following after us, leaving Issac to stand by himself.

We get to class early. Instead of letting me sit in my seat, Connor swiftly pulls me onto his lap. He's staking his claim, even though Issac is no where near us. I turn to face him, wrapping my arms around his neck. "I'm right here." He nods and hides his head in my neck, calming himself with my scent. Lily and Trish sit behind us, glaring at anyone that looks at Connor and I. Being that we're cats, we're very territorial.

I give them a pointed look. "Calm down." They both dip their heads and nod.

The teacher walks in, noticing Connor and I. He stares at me and I match his stare, daring him to say something. He thinks better of it and goes to his desk.

School is uneventful, as always. Issac hasn't tried to talk to any of us since this morning, thankfully. I don't think Connor could hold back if Issac came close to me again today.

"So how was school?" Hunter asks when we all get in the house.

"Boring." Trish says as she grabs an apple.

"Yeah, nothing really happened."Lily agrees.

"Well, besides Connor getting all possessive over Sophie." Trish leans on the counter, staring at her apple. "It had us a little on edge the majority of the day."

"Possessive? Over what?" Hunter asks, looking at Connor.

"An idiot human. He won't take the hint that she's mine." He pulls me to his side in a protective manner.

"He's just a human that has a crush on me, Hunter. It's not a big deal." Hunter nods his head, completely understanding.

"Well, I'm making chicken broccoli casserole. It should be done in about an hour." We all nod and go to our respective rooms. Connor walks into the en suite attached to our room and I fall onto our bed. My arms reach out towards the edges of the bed and my toes do the same. I close my eyes and sigh, relaxing. Connor steps out of the bathroom and I feel warmth above me a second later.

I open one eye to see Connor hovering over me. A small laugh leaves my mouth and I open both eyes. My arms wrap around his neck, lazily draping over each other. "Well hi." I say with a smile on my face.

"Hi." A breathtaking smile develops on his perfect face, and I can't help but feel my body heat up. One of his arms slides under my back and pulls me up to him. "I missed you." He says, looking into my eyes.

"I was with you the entire day." I say, not looking away. I'm completely transfixed by his eyes.

"You hold back at school. You don't here." Our breath mingles, causing me to shiver.

Even after all this time, he still manages to leave me speechless.

I may be speechless, but I'm not paralyzed. I place my lips against his, sending both of our nerves into a frenzy.

"Sophie." He says my name before moving his lips to my neck. I tilt my head, revealing more skin. My fingers dig into his hair and he groans hungrily.

He flips so he's under me, and I'm lying on his chest. "You are a little minx." Connor takes a deep breath. Then notices the disappointment in my face. "After dinner. For now," he kisses the top of my head. "Take a nap." I can't say no to a nap.

I nod my head and bury myself into his side. Connor pulls the blanket over us, turning so I'm facing his chest. I fall asleep easily with my mates heartbeat lulling me to sleep.
