22. A Choice for My Dearest

Question: What do you think Koro's animal box weapon is?

{Millefiore's private jet}

Reclining on his immaculate quilted seat, Yucca hummed some random tunes. His left hand gently combing his brother's white locks as the said male laid on his lap, while his other held a stack of paper with multiple battles strategy.

The file was, neatly arranged, in alphabetic order to make the lecture easier, each step to beat the enemy was cleverly explained. From the best way to breath to the tempo you should adopt or favored weapon to use, every detail was recorded down.

Yucca had to wonder how his dear brother managed to gather all of this information. But then again, it was his Ran-chan's work, of course, it was awesome. What did he expect?

Currently rereading the Vongola's files, Yucca's usual childish grin was, replaced by a chilly calculative one his eyes glinting a cold orange color every time he went through another profile. Envisioning the battle to come unquestionably sent his blood pumping, he couldn't wait to, finally make himself useful to his dearest.

At the thought, a brilliant grin flashed through his face. His purple eyes crinkled in joy, he looked down at his little brother's face adoringly. "Did I ever tell you how much I loved you, Ran-chan?" he whispered lovingly.

A low hum emanated from the young white-head as he let one of his purple eyes crack open, his grin stretched, matching his brother's own. "Of course you did, Yucca-nii. But you can tell me more!"

Yucca's eyes softened considerably, stroking his brother's hair a few times he nodded. "Of course, Ran-chan deserves only the best after all."

Beaming, Byakuran went back to nuzzling his head into his brother's stomach, savoring this bonding moment before the Choice battle and his advent as the ruler of every dimension.

His day couldn't have been better.

A few seats away, Byakuran's guardians observed the scene. Each more hype than the other for the upcoming battle and opportunity to make themselves useful to their leader.

::

{???, ???}

"Now," Byakuran announced standing in front of a monitor. "Let's send our guests an invitation, shall we?"

On cue, the transmitter lit up. From where the Millefiore stood, they could discern their opponents' faces. Most of them wore suits, although some guardians seemed to be missing, Yucca didn't take any note of it instead, trying to gauge who would be the funniest to beat.

The young Don seemed like a good choice. He was the leader and probably had the most trump cards out of all the teens. Then again, the baby appeared to be a good opponent, he used to be. Yucca remembered when he went after some Arcobanelos after living on the surface became difficult for them. It was nothing compared to the time he fought Viper while in the Varia but it was intriguing nonetheless.

Caught in his speculations, Yucca's gaze, wandered from each guardian to another. At last, it settled a particularly familiar figure. A feral grin stretched on his face as his eyes glinted dangerously. Licking his lips in anticipation a small chuckle escaped Yucca's lips, followed by a longing sigh.

Ah, he couldn't wait for the battle to begin. Who knows? Maybe he'll have the opportunity to settle the score with the small pest.

"...All right, let's go!" Byakuran's exclamation pulled Yucca out of his reverie. Blinking a few times, he covered his eyes for a second before he and the other Millefiore members appeared in the middle of a super-high-rise-building area, or the lightning ground.

Taking in his environment, Yucca whistled in mild amusement and anticipation at the sigh. This Choice game looked like, so much fun! As his purple orbs went from building to building, scanning every facility for a possible opening or use in battle, Yucca who stood behind his group slowly made his way to the front.

The two groups' important discussion about the choice game had almost ended. The draw for the battle's participant was, made. Glancing up at the two panels a small pout appeared on Yucca's face, no sky?

Coming up to the front of the group, Yucca engulfed Byakuran in a hug. In a low murmur, he complained to his brother, this under the bewildered eyes of the Vongola and envious or respectful eyes of the Millefiore. "Ran-chan," he whined, only the closest people hearing his childish voice. "I want to enter the battle too!" he complained, almost throwing a tantrum.

Byakuran hummed, his eyes going up to look at his participant's list before resting on his brother. "Yucca-nii-chan can enter as a cloud right? Then what's the problem?"

Detaching himself from his brother, Yucca blinked a few times before grinning. Ruffling the youngest's white locks approvingly, he went to Kikyo. "Kikyo-chan," he called out in a sing-song voice. "Let me enter in your state?" he said in a question, tilting his head to the side childishly the grin still adorning his face.

Kikyo's gaze was complicated. His will to fight for his Boss was strong, but the will to please his Boss' dearest was too. Unsure he glanced at his Boss who sent him his signature smile. With a somewhat forced but natural smile, Kikyo nodded. "Of course, Yucca-sama. I will expect you to honor Byakuran-sama with our victory then."

Yucca's smile brightened, "That's a given!" he declared before turning around to tell his brother the news.

::

Yucca didn't meet any of the Vongola's gaze as he waited for the beginning of the fight. More talking, less action he mused as he listened to Shoichi Irie's speech. The little pest was such a bore. He couldn't wait to make him shut up for good. At the thought, a chilling smile spread on Yucca's face, sending a chill down the Vongola's spines.

Finally, the battle's participants were, chosen.

Happy with how things were going, Yucca's purple eyes met Tsunayoshi's brown orbs. Sending him a smile, the raven head, closed his eyes. His lips moving to tell a whisper Tsunayoshi didn't manage to read before reopening his eyes as they flashed a lighter purple light.

Tsunayoshi's senses were tingling. Something had happened to Yucca while he was watching him. The foreign but familiar man before him had disappeared to be replaced by the entity he met in the forest. Was this what it meant when he thought about Yucca's soul being fragmented and controlling the vessel one by one?

A frown on his face, Tsunayoshi's gaze met the same purple ones as before. They held much more wiseness and gentleness than before, and Tsunayoshi had to wonder which one was the "real" Yucca.

The raven head turned away from the young Don. Putting his Fake cloud Mare ring on his left-hand and the fake sky ring on the right, he walked up to the younger white-haired male.

"Ran," he called out, a bit more detached than Yucca before, picking the Vongola's attention at the man's change of tone. "We will bring you victory, therefore don't sweat it."

Byakuran turned to look at the man, his gaze a mix of disgust and acknowledgment as a scowl momentarily appeared on his face. "You better," he stated. "But let nii-chan have his fun. I didn't do this for you to have fun, Aster," he drawled, further perplexing the Vongola and confirming Tsunayoshi's suspicion.

Koro gave the younger man a nod before turning around. His voice boomed. "Daisy, Torikabuto, Saru," he listed, "come."

Following the raven head's order, the four Millefiore member went to their base for the battle. To elaborate on their strategy for the fight to come.

::

On a tall building, the four members overlooked the scene. The only unmasked member of the team staring at Koro with a defying look, full of disapproval.

Koro stared at him, then at Genkishi and Torikabuto before sighing, already knowing what hid behind their mask. "Don't worry. I promised Yucca I would let him have the most out of this match," he said, before fully facing them. I don't enjoy fighting children my students' age anyway.

"I talked to Kikyo about how we envisioned this battle," he stated, gaining the three's attention. "We came to the same conclusion. We will follow strategy number 56," he stated, referring to one of the many files Byakuran gave out to them.

Ignoring Daisy's complaints about remaining on the throne, he turned to Torikabuto. "Did you pinpoint them?"

"Of course."

A grin etched Koro's face. He still didn't caution fighting children, but the satisfaction of a well-made plan always brought his spirit up. Nodding, he jumped off the building. "Then, let's go." Liting his purple cloud flame up, Koro took the lead. "Until the first clash," he whispered, "I'll take the lead."

Torikabuto who flew next to him nodded before glancing at his watch where a multitude of colored dots had appeared. It was similar to a swarm of mob popping up on a gaming map for their number was so great compared to before.

"Aster-sama, Irie Shoichi's target mark have multiplied, and the individual signals have scattered. They should be decoys."

Koro nodded, not taking his eyes off the road he didn't spare a second to answer. "This was to be expected. Genkishi, Torikabuto, scatter and take care of the two vanguards. Although Daisy is a good girl, we don't need them to get closer than necessary," he instructed. "We'll take the target and its defense down. GO," he ordered. On cue, the three Millefiore members changed their paths.

Each one following and aiming for a different target.

Koro's mind went to elaborate a plan. He first needed to take all of these decoys down. They would only slow him down later on if he didn't. Liting his cloud ring up, he took a cloud-animal box-weapon from his trench's pocket.

"Let's take them down, Aguri," he whispered as a purple light engulfed the box before revealing a cute hand-sized purple octopus. Wrapping her tentacles around Koro's right wrist, Aguri slowly absorbed the cloud flame Koro was diffusing within her.

Jumping higher, Koro extended his arm, as if waiting for this moment, two of Aguri's tentacles stretched. Taking ahold of one of the many decoys, Aguri didn't let go, firmly clutching it, she allowed her loose members to swing freely according to Koro's member until the bait she held smashed into another.

The process went on and on for precisely four minutes and thirty-six seconds, slow from Koro's point of view. Whatever, glancing at his wristband, he noticed Genkishi's spot had disappeared, and Yamamoto's was getting closer to Daisy's.

How troublesome, it seemed like he needed to go quicker.

Letting Aguri extend her long limbs to two buildings. He propelled himself forward, similar to a slingshot, he added his flame's power to go ahead faster.

Heading straight for the Vongola's base, Koro could see from a distance, approaching at high speed his first target, Gokudera Hayato. The teen's green eye looked ahead while his other was, covered with his silver bangs. A flash of nostalgia went through Koro's mind as he remembered the ring battle, ten years prior, to the current event.

A nostalgic sigh escaped his lips. Everything, was so easy, back then.

Putting his feelings aside, Koro hardened his heart even more. Blinking a few times, his flame, burnt brighter as he made an impact with the teen.

The teen activated his infamous system CAI, or so he thought. Koro observed him from afar for a moment before uttering a single phrase. "I hope Aguri's present to you and your system will please you," closing his eyes he reopened them, a glint of orange passing through them. "Haya-chan!" Yucca concluded with a childish intonation.

Flying past him, Yucca's flame, was a strange blend of orange and purple. Remnants of Koro's previous control still present, Yucca didn't bother to stop consuming cloud flame. Careless in his reserves, his face grazed Gokudera's raging face for a second.

At this instant, a taunting smirk spread on Yucca's face. "You look as pitiful as when I shot your boss, puppy." He mocked, the raven-haired adult went further into the arena.

Hayato's mouth was left agape as an indescribable feeling of rage, uselessness and want for revenge invaded him.

How he wanted to kill this man himself at this moment. Still a bit out of it, Gokudera didn't report to the others immediately, letting Yucca take a headstart on this fateful game of tag.

Getting further and further away from the silver-haired teen, a delighted smile adorned Yucca's lips.

How he couldn't wait to please his dearest!
