MY POOR BABY JEFFERSON

Let's start with this: I've always loved the Mad Hatter, ever since I was little. I love every incarnation I've seen of him, and especially I loved Johnny Depp's portrayal of him in Disney's live-action Alice in Wonderland.

But OUAT's Hatter definitely takes the teacake.

I loved him from the moment he was introduced as the poor unfortunate guy who Emma almost ran off the road (I mean, c'mon, even then he was hot - like pretty much every freaking guy on Once). Then we found out he actually knew about the Enchanted Forest and I fell even more in love.

And then we knew him as the Mad Hatter and bam! Instantly my favorite guest star, even to this day.

BUT JESUS HE GETS FUCKED OVER IN THIS EPISODE

I seriously thought he was getting Emma to believe in the curse and then she goes and hits him with a telescope, and after he nearly burst into tears over his damn daughter! Ugh, Emma's obstinance was so annoying in the first season, and it only gets worse with August towards the end.

Jefferson's curse has to be one of the absolute worst out of everyone. Not only has he had his daughter ripped away from him, but he's forced to remember everything about their life together, while he's powerless to be with her. Plus he still retains the scar of having his head chopped off and sewn back on. Talk about rough, man.

My point in all this is that I love Jefferson, whether he's the Hatter or a madman trapped in his mansion, and I wish he'd gotten a better bargain in life. Mostly I wish he'd never struck a deal with Regina, because that would have solved pretty much everything.

ALSO THIS EPISODE MADE ME HATE REGINA EVEN MORE AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING WITH GRAHAM'S DEATH IN THE RUNNING

PLUS I HATE EMMA A LITTLE BIT TOO BECAUSE MY GOD JEFFERSON TRIED HIS BEST TO GET HER TO BELIEVE DAMMIT AND WHAT DID SHE DO, HELP HIM GET KICKED OUTTA WINDOW JESUS CHRIST THAT IS WHAT

WHYYYYY EMMA WHYYYYYYY ARE YOU SO DENSE

Ugh. I'm only happy that he's reunited with Grace/Paige later on, and that he's not dead, because seriously, every guy I love on this show (excluding Charming) has bad shit happen to him. I'm almost glad he was only a guest star, because I'm pretty sure if he'd stayed on they woulda found some way to kill him off.

Alright. Almost done. Lastly:

I LOVE JEFFERSON HE IS ADORABLE AND DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER
