Chapter twenty nine

a/n: The unnamed tamaranean gets named in this chapter! long with the mysterious green lightning bolt. And a new Robin gets named in this, though she's an alternate version of Robin. Hope you enjoy this chapter! This chapter in particular may seem completely cruddy, but I need it here so I can work on the sequel to this story when it's finished. Believe me, it's totally important and once this story is finished (No time TOO soon, i promise)I also feel kinda uneasy about publishing this chapter? Because it introduces two new characters that DC likes to pretend they never made?? I don't know, but i definitely have a plan for it.

As someone who isn't from this reality, Detective Morris can easily make out who isn't from here. They have a different type of feel to them. She can't explain it, but she knows. It doesn't have to be in person. She saw a picture of Superman on the news, and she instantly knew that this Clark Kent isn't the one who grew up here. It's very rare for her to see this, so when a boy with bright blonde and shaggy hair just zips right on past her? She stops moving, turns around to stare at the boy who just ran past her.

She's on her way to the airport. She wants to take a flight to Portland, she's been speaking to  cop there who isn't actually on duty. Hasn't been on duty for several years. And he has your police records, and it's part of why he doesn't work at the Portland Police Department anymore. He was paid generously to cover it up.

By someone named John Constantine. Now, Detective Morris isn't surprised. She knows her father would have done anything to protect his youngest daughter. But whatever it was, it was serious enough for John to use his real name.

Back to what Detective Morris was mentioning to herself, she knows when someone isn't from around here. Guess it's just an effect of reality-hopping. Knowing full well. Just by catching a glimpse of them, it's like there's a click in her mind that tells her someone else is here. Like a string is tightening in her brain.

Because she knows it's likely somebody from her own reality could have followed her here. In an attempt to keep her from seeking out Bruce Wayne, Batman. It would have had to be someone close to him, though. And Detective Morris is pretty confident in her abilities that she didn't bring someone back from her own reality with her. But then again, Detective Morris is truly a Constantine. Which means there seems to always be room for tragedy.

The blonde boy couldn't have been any older than sixteen. He was decently tall, but slightly below average. His body didn't seem to have much muscle mass on it, but he did look like he could hold his own. Short blonde hair that threatened to grow longer than past his ears.

He wasn't wearing normal clothes, no. He ran right on past her as if he thought she wouldn't see him.

But she did.

She saw the yellow goggles over his eyes, the green rims holding them to his face. His porcelain pale skin that seemed so white she'd accuse him of being sickly or unwell. She saw the amber hues of his eyes, that could have been mistaken for the shade of the goggles that turned everything behind that shielded glass the same color.

She saw the green and black suit he wore, no not a business suit. Something you'd see someone with powers wearing. It was skin tight, completely black. Aside from a green lightning strike in the middle of it that covered his entire chest, and the inner of his thighs and legs. The long green lightning streak that seemed to go completely up his body all the way to his chin, where it connects with the rest of his suit to his goggles. On his ears, two lightning bolts sticking out to protect his ear drums. Just her assumption.

Her first thought is, it's probably someone Flash works with. Just heading back to Central city.

Then she see's the blood all over his right arm. Starting from his hands, and going all the way up to his elbow. And she just knows that it's not his, and it's by the look on his face. He has the appearance of a broken child.

At first, she didn't realize that feeling in her gut. But time slowed down for the second she made eye contact with him. She felt a significantly small shock to her hand, as if she had reached out to touch an electrical wire.

He's not from here, and while Detective Morris goes into the airport? She's taking her laptop out of her bag, and searching anything and everything related to the Flash.

Because she's never seen anybody wearing that suit before, not even from the reality she's from.

*******Somewhere under Gotham, merely minutes after Superboy discovers the crash sight*********

Thaddeus Thawne the second.

Originally from the thirtieth century. He's possibly the smartest person on the planet, thanks to nearly sixty years of mental programming. t first, he was sent back to the past to replace the person he's a clone of. Granted, he's not a perfect carbon copy. Bart Allen, and Thaddeus Thawne the second, have several things that prove they're their own people. Bart Allen, otherwise known as Impulse, he's a good person. In the reality where Thaddeus comes from, he was sent back in time. As Bart's replacement.  But it turns out Bart was on a team of people that cared about him, and they called themselves the teen titans.

They stood in the way, and protected Bart. Not that Bart had issues protecting himself. But with so many people on his side? Living was a brighter possibility.

But one of the members of that team decided to seek him out. She wasn't hellbent on protecting Bart at literally all costs, but she still stood her ground. And her way of dealing with things was much more gentle, much more promising.

She took off her mask for Thaddeus. She took off the green domino mask that deemed her Robin, and sat down to talk to Thaddeus. Talked to him about the things that could happen to hi afterwords. What did he plan on doing after replacing Bart? Thaddeus hadn't thought that far.

She was helping him, all behind the backs of her teammates. And slowly? Thaddeus was actually loosening up on the team. She even told Thaddeus that if he got everything under control, she'd save a spot for him on it. If he got the help he needed and if he served the time for the casualties of people he's gotten killed? He could do some good.

Turns out Robin's way of doing things ended up sticking to Thaddeus in the wrong way. He grew infatuated. Infatuated with her. There's so many reasons as to why he fell so goddamn hard. She took off his mask for him, she showed him who she was. She was giving him chances just because she had a small thread of thought that he could do some good.

Of course, he was oblivious that she was only being manipulative. Thaddeus may be one of the smartest people alive, but his intellect only went so far.

Robin didn't stop him from lashing out, he saw his one and only opening to finally kill Bart. His last opening. But Robin was there, she was getting ready to take back every little word she had ever said to the green speedster. Ready to make him know that she won't stand for it anymore.

Nightstar, another member on the team, she intervened. She hid Bart. And then decided to take on Thaddeus on her own. The entire team got in on this, but it was mostly Nightstar.

She was losing. Badly.

Thaddeus grabbed her by the collar of her top with a single hand, and reeled back his free hand in the form of a fist. He was smirking, knowing full wll that he was more than prepaired to rip out the lungs of his enemy. Rip out the lungs of someone who stood in his way. But he decided that this wouldn't be enough. He started to run, but he didn't know he had done this too late. Too late to go fast enough.

Because Robin came along, and intervened.

But Robin jumped in the way, and he missed. He ended up killing the fifth Robin. Literally ripping out her heart.
He was unaware of what was going through her head in her final moments before her death, but he knows that she wasn't suppose to die.

Afterall, she did show him how to care about something besides himself.

This was all so unintentional, Thaddeus never meant to rip himself and Nightstar through timeline after timeline. But she wasn't going to let her best friend, her teammate, die in vain. She fought back and started to separate from Thaddeus. In hopes she'd send herself to another timeline. But he chased after her.

And that's how they ended up here. Thaddeus Thawne the second. Otherwise known as Inertia. Along with the now former Teen titans member, Nightstar.

He now has her as his hostage of sorts, seeing as she was weakened by the speedforce. It's an example as to why only speedsters should be in it.

Infact, he's with her right now.

"C.R.A.Y.D.O.L technology is ahead of it's time. Thirtieth century, exactly where I'm from. This isn't my first time being sent to another timeline. But being sent to a new reality? It's confusing. I thank the ring I'm wearing, it stores all of my data. Isn't Boom Tube technical is just as interesting, isn't it, Alien." He speaks harshly. Speaking through the urge to grit his teeth together and just kill the girl right in front of him.

There's several green lights, all it took was for him to find an unused subway station. Take off the ring, and have everything from his old lab/layout in other words, his headquarters come here. Having it all stored in his ring. Just as easily as storing a suit there. instead of having to rebuild everything, he simply takes it with him.

"W-Why are you doing this.." She can't even finish her sentence without straining her voice. Long black hair with purple tints to it cover her entire body, long enough to a length that goes down to her knees. She's being held up by her wrists, and bound by her ankles. She's being held in a prison, or sorts. One meant not for humans.

This girl is only half human, which makes her so weak to this. Her other half? On her mothers side, she's Tamaranean. She lacks the golden skin her mother has, but she has the same exact glimmering green eyes. But thanks to her human genetics from her father, she can easily switch between green hues to white hues, showing off bright blue eyes whenever she feels the need to switch. Completely bright green iris's look up to stare at the teenager before her, as if she can beg for her life through mere gaze.

"I planned on dragging you through the speedforce and killing you there. It's easier that way. You'd be dying forever, really. Feeling the pin of me ripping out your lungs. But you just had to do it, you just had to let her get in the way. I killed the rest of your stupid little team of titans, Nightstar." He comes close enough to her for her to finally catch a more clear look on her face.

"My friends-"
"Are dead. You don't have anybody alive left.  I know who your father is, and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who your mother was." Mocking her, grinning and showing her perfectly white teeth when he says the word 'Was' instead of 'is' when talking about her mother.

The half human, half Tamaranean tugs at her restraints, yanking her head up and snarling her teeth at him. Lunging forwards as if she could attack right then and there.

"Robin didn't have to die, but you let her get in the way. Why'd you just let her do that?" He asked, walking closer to the furious girl. Holding her face gently in his hands, cupping her warm face with his cold hands. Resting his thumb under her eye and gently stroking.

"Thaddeus-"
"Mar'i, I want an answer as to why you just let your best friend jump in the way like that." He's taunting her now, smirking mockingly at her. Thaddeus lives off of control, and this is exactly what he wants.

She doesn't speak at first, lets her head fall back down limply between her shoulders. But Thaddeus isn't having it, smirking even more deviously now, he forces her to look back up at him. She lets out a painful whine, one that Thaddeus knows he'll be hearing more of.

She's glaring at him. And it takes her a moment, but her eyes only grow to a more intense shade of green. Lighting around more than just the edges of her eyes.

Thaddeus merely frowns at this, and tilts his head to the side and allows Nightstar to shoot off a starbolt from her eyes right on past his shoulder. He eels the undeniable heat between his neck and his shoulder, after all that was nothing but pure solar energy. The bright green liht zooming right on past him did some damage to some tech.

She does this again and again and again. Eventually resorts to flailing and screaming.

"Nobody is going to hear you, Mar'i. You're such a smart girl, I know this. It's the only thing I admire about you." He speaks calmly and smoothly, wiping his fingers on his right hand down his face. Smearing the blood of her best friend on her cheek. Smearing Robin's blood on her face. As if he can just paint his guilt away like his hand is the brush and Mar'is face is the canvas.

"I am intelligent." She sputters her speaking, coughing up fits while the words leave her mouth.

She's smirking, because she knows that almost every reality has someone capable of hearing the smallest thing. In her reality, she knew three people who could pick up on these things. Superman, and Superboy, and Supergirl.

Now she's only waiting.

***With Superboy, in the Birdie Bookstore right now****

"Oh my god." Jon mumbles, wide eyes. All he see's is the color red. There's nothing else to see.

He's never seen so much blood come from one person. And hes sick to his stomach again, but for another reason.

Magic. Kryptonian's can't deal with any of that. His head is spinning, and his vision is starting to fade. All he can hear is screams, but it's multiple. Like there's more than one person screaming. It's just as much as a weakness to them as kryptonite is.

While he still can, he signals for his dad. Superman. Someone who can deal with this a hell of alot faster. In the meantime, while Jon is still able to move, he can find the victim of this mess and get them to the hospital. While weakened, he can manage to have Clark go after the one responsible.

And it doesn't take him long to find the source of the blood. Afterall, she's a pregnant woman. She's sitting against the wall of the counter under it, and as Jon moves even closer to her? His actions are slow, so he can focus on attempting to find a heartbeat from her. Perking his ears up, pushing himself. His head is still pounding from god knows what, and there's a foul stench in the air that smells like rotten eggs. He looks down to the ground and see's some type of yellow powder, the source of the smell. On his way out, he made a mental note to pick some up to give to Clark and some to Bruce. Clark, so it can be analyzed in the fortress of solitude. Bruce, so it can be analyzed in his Batcave.

She's a pregnant woman who isn't moving. And this scares Jon, because it makes him think he's too late.

She's wearing a white blouse, it was white at one point he guesses. A skirt with a white background and blue flowers. But everything she's wearing is turned dark red from her own blood. And the main wound?

Several stab wounds on the stomach. And it physically pains Jon to go over to her and pick her up, but Gotham Central Hospital isn't that far from here. And with his Kryptonian super strength? It was easy to pick her up and safely fly her to the hospital. It didn't hurt him, in terms of her weight straining his body. No, that wasn't the case at all. To him, it was like picking up a bag of laundry. But whenever he looked down to check and see if she was still alive, though she was just barely. He'd have to be forced to look at the wounds on her stomach. That's the part that got to him, because she was obviously pregnant before this happened. She said it herself. And with a quick view over her body with X-ray vision? He can evidently see another person in her stomach.

But just one.

He's flying outside of the hospital, nearing the roof as he peers out over Gotham with x-ray vision. Anything that isn't lined with lead, he'll see. And he's slowly being able to focus his hearing back, but he's focusing it on screaming. Anybody screaming. Anybody crying out for help. In Gotham, that's a lot. Though he doesn't think Damian would be screaming and crying out for help like that. But just to listen if he were, and if Jon heard it? Instantly, he feels as though his organs would turn to stone. Because come on, what in the damn world would make Damian scream like the people he's listening too? It's not likely for Damian to outlash like that, unless in intense amounts of pain. Even then, Jon's sure that stubborn asshole of a friend he's got wouldn't start screaming until someone else was brought into the mix.

But he needs to focus on one.

But he see's two figures under an abandoned subway. It's only halfway lined with lead. But what he can make out? It doesn't look pleasant.

He swears, the next person he saves after this is going to be Damian.
