Chapter 30
The skii resort was a freaking dream.
There was literally nothing more you could've asked for. Great view, great accommodation, great food, lavish rooms, everything was amazing. The villa they were given was two storied with three bedrooms. Lily and Jungkook would take the room at the top floor, Doyoung and Gaeul would take the one downstairs on the left and Soobin would take the right one. Soobin's parents room was in the main resort building. They seemed to love their room. Soobin had visited the room and loved it so much!
They all came separately in units. Doyoung and Gaeul came by their car. The Choi family came by theirs and Lily and Jungkook, the hosts of the trip came the latest. They were hours late and came in the late afternoon but no one minded that too much because all were too happy to be angry. The rest of them hadn't had the chance to meet Soobin's parents yet. She was a bit hesitant as what would they think of her and what not. She wanted to let them have their fun separately. But she kept thinking that it was the only chance she would ever get, so she needed to use it wisely. She decided to ask Soobin if his parents would want to have dinner with them. Soobin's eyes widened as he never ever expected her to make the first move about this. He was dying to get her to meet his parents anyway. He quickly said 'of course they would.' They all planned on having dinner together at the restaurant of the resort at 7.
So dinner time came. Lily put on her best clothes which were surprisingly not black. And then all of them headed to the dinner. Lily had Jungkook's hand in her the whole time. One thing she does when she is extremely nervous. Soobin was so excited he couldn't stop smiling.
Mr. and Mrs.Choi looked expensive, well polished, polite and so so nice. They stood up when they saw all of them. All of them bowed and Doyoung introduced himself first, shaking his hand with both of them. Gaeul introduced himself receiving head pats from both Mr and Mrs.Choi. Jungkook introduced himself, gaining a lot of comments at how strikingly handsome he was. Finally it was turn for Lily. She once again bowed.
"Sir, ma'am, I am..Lily,"Before she could completely finish Mrs.Choi almost ran to her and held both of her hands gently. Lily was so shocked when she looked up at her. Mrs.Choi sincerely said,"Thank you so much, for sacrificing so much for Soobin, dear. Thanks to you, we have Soobin here today. I do not have the right words to thank you."
Her sincerity touched Lily's heart and the bubbling feelings showed up as tears in her eyes. Unprovoked, without any warning. Lily looked down to hide her tears. Mr. Choi came and patted her shoulder,"You really are one amazing sister."
Lily shook her head as tears streamed through her eyes,"Thank you for taking Soobin in. Thank you for giving him the life that he deserves. Thank you so....so much..."
With that Lily broke down. This time not hiding from anyone that she is crying. Soobin broke down. Jungkook had tears in his eyes. Doyoung was on the verge of crying. A lot of words were unsaid. Lily did not know how to express her gratitude finally. She slowly let Mrs.Choi's hands go, wanting fully to get on her knees to thank them, only for Mrs.Choi to stop her on time and hold her in her arms giving her a warm motherly hug that Lily didn't get in decades.
Lily cried in her shoulder, for how long she doesn't know. Both Mr. and Mrs. Choi patted her back. Parental pats that Lily hadn't received for years. Little Gaeul hugged Soobin's legs to comfort the crying Soobin as best he could.
All of the people present in the restaurant stared in awe in this beautiful scene. Almost everyone was crying, but the scene was ethereal. To them it seemed like a perfect family reunion. Nothing is more beautiful than familial bond. Only if they knew it was so much for than that. So much history, so many unsaid words, so much pain, so much happiness...just so much.
The vacation was going amazing. Skiing, sightseeing, eating, they did so much. It was as if they were in a dreamland. Like children. As if the past didn't exist. As if the pain didn't exist. That is what Doyoung felt at least. This vacation is something Doyoung wouldn't ever forget a moment of. Togetherness, family, happiness is something Doyoung never experienced. He did not know how it felt. Now he thinks he knows.
But he can't help but see wonder what actually was going on underneath all of this. He knows for a fact that his best friend, Lily was not like this. In this trip she's been openly smiling, crying, being excited, showing her excitement and happiness. He knows she isn't like that. Something is brewing down under and he can't help but feel scared. He just can't ask her and ruin the whole thing. He is too scared of ruining the perfect moment.
On one of the nights of their seven day vacation, Doyoung was lying sleepless in his bed. They had a very busy and fun filled day today but he just can't fall asleep. God knows why. So he just stared up at the ceiling while Gaeul slept beside him.
A small barely audible knock pulled Doyoung out of his train of thoughts.
"Doyoung-ah? You awake?"
Doyoung frowned. Why is Lily calling him at one am? He threw the blanket off him and slowly opened the door, making sure to not wake Gaeul up.
"What's up?"Doyoung slowly said at the sight of Lily outside his door.
Lily smiled seeing him, one thing he still can't get used to. Every time she smiles, she takes him back to his warm childhood friend, Yerim.
"Oh, I was hoping you were awake. Jungkook was fast asleep and I couldn't sleep, so.."Lily slowly asked while raising both of her hands,"Beer?"
Doyoung chuckled as he saw two beer bottles in her hand. He quietly closed the door behind him before looking at her,"Deal!"
They sat at the dimly lit dining table across each other. They both sipped their beer. Lily looked at Doyoung and chuckled,"Doyoung-ah, if you keep so many questions in yourself, your stomach will hurt. Ask away whatever is on your mind."
Doyoung sighed. He is stupid for thinking she can't read him,"Lily..what's up? I mean with all of this? Did something happen?"
"What needs to happen?"Lily asked as she sipped her beer. She put both of her elbows on the wooden table and looked at him waiting for him to answer.
"You know exactly what I mean, Lily. You've changed drastically. You, vacation, smiling, family bond all of this makes no sense, don't you think?"
Lily smirked,"Is it?"
"Something is completely up, right, Lily? You are planning something bad. Are you not? Tell me. What're you planning? Are you sick?"
"Woah, woah. Too many questions bestie,"Lily chuckled. Then she paused,"I'm planning something, sure. But it is not something bad. It is something very good. And I would say it is the best thing I have ever done."
"I have no idea what you're talking about.."
"Doyoung-ah?"
"Yeah?"
"What do you think about quitting the life of crime? Completely? What do you think you want to do after that?"
Doyoung frowned at the sudden deep question,"Why are you suddenly asking that?"
"Just got curious. I barely ask you these stuff."
Doyoung looked at her thoughtfully,"Quitting the life of crime you say? Yes, I have thought about it and wanted it many times. I still want to. My stomach isn't as strong as you so I can't digest most of this crime shit. And now that Gaeul is in the picture, yes."
"Then you easily could've quit it, Doyoung-ah, so many times. Why did you not?"Lily asked.
"It's just..you know what..let's not.."
"Tell me the truth, Doyoung-ah. It's not like I would've forced you to stay in crime if you told me surely. I hope you know that."
"I know that, Lily."
"Then why?"
"I..I didn't want to make you think that I abandoned you."
Lily got silent at his reply.
Doyoung continued,"I always keep saying that you are the only person I have. But I am the only person you had, Lily. I just couldn't leave you in that darkness and hell alone, fighting all alone. I know you are gonna say I'm stupid and cheesy but that's what it is. That is my very weird and non efficient way of telling you that I have your back."
Lily looked away and sipped her beer,"You know what?"
"What?"
"I absolutely hate you, Doyoung."
Doyoung chuckled and he is sure he heard a crack in her voice when she said it.
When she eventually pulled herself back together she asked,"So what about my second question? What do want to do after quitting crime if you had to?"
"Surprisingly, I have never thought of it,"Doyoung said, lying,"I have so much money saved up, I guess I could start any kind of business?"
"You lying ass little,"Lily chuckled,"I know it all. You thought I wouldn't know what your dream was? I was with you for all your life?"
Once again Doyoung was a fool if he thought he would get away with lying to her,"You're right, Lily."
"So how do you think of starting to study for that now?"
"It's too late to do that now, Lily."
"Jungkook told me it's never too late to chase your dreams."
Doyoung and Lily both cracked up at that.
"Why are you suddenly asking me all of that, Lily?"
"Because I think it is time to quit crime."
Doyoung was genuinely shocked. He narrowed his eyes,"What? Really? Why do suddenly?"
Lily leaned back on her chair,"It might seem sudden but it is not. I have been thinking about this for awhile. And after long and deep thinking I've come to conclusion that..it wouldn't be too bad giving this new normal healthy life a shot."
"Lily, are you by any chance forcing yourself to say it after I said that I'm in it because of you? Because you don't need to.."
"Doyoung-ah?"She cut him off,"No, I'm not saying this just because of you. Of course, you are a part of the reasons. But not solely because of you. Doyoung-ah.."Lily paused,"We have been through so much together. So much. Most of the things are that we didn't deserve. It is finally time to live a life that we deserve, don't you think? Do something we actually want to do? You know we deserve it more than anyone."
Doyoung's breath got caught up in his throat. Whatever she said is so real. It is their said reality. He looked away while sipping his beer. Crying twice on the same trip would be embarrassing hence he tried his best to stop the waterworks and gulped down the beer. When he finally gathered himself up, he turned to her,"Is that why you planned this trip? For this new beginning?"
"You could say that,"Lily said.
Doyoung nodded,"Damn, Jungkook really managed to change you, didn't he?"
As answer Lily just smiled.
"I still wonder how he managed to do that so soon."
"Oh, don't even get me started. His di.."
"TMI."
Lily laughed out loud. Of course it wouldn't be Lily if she did not say some out of pocket bullshit.
Doyoung also laughed. Silence fell on the room for quite awhile after. Doyoung taking his time to process the amazing news Lily just gave him. They are finally going to get out of this darkness. Their past won't be holding their ankles and he would finally be able to be a hyung that little Gaeul can be proud of.
"A new beginning, Huh?"Doyoung broke the silence,"Sounds so dramatic but so right."
"I know."
Doyoung raised his beer bottle,"So should we do something more dramatic and cheers on that?"
Lily leaves closer and raised her bottle. The bottles clinked with a satisfactory clink sound,"Cheers to your new beginning!"
Doyoung frowned and corrected her,"Our."
Lily chuckled and quickly corrected herself,"My bad. Our. I won't let anyone or anything ruin this."
Doyoung nodded and they both downed their beers. They both put the empty bottle on the table. Silence once again fell over the room. The only sound that could be heard was Lily's fingers drumming against the wooden table.
Lily looked at him after awhile and said,"Since the theme of tonight is being dramatic, do you mind if I do something that may or may not have been the most dramatic thing I've done in my life?"
Doyoung raised his brows,"What.."
He couldn't finish it. Nothing could've prepared him for what came next. You would think knowing Lily for all of your life would have given you a little idea of what she was about to do next. But no. Doyoung never in a million years thought she would've done this.
She had raised from her chair that was across him, walked to him and slowly wrapped her arms around his shoulder, engulfing him in a hug.
What?
Doyoung felt frozen. He couldn't move. How could he? This is the first time ever she has hugged him like this.
"Doyoung-ah?"Lily said. Doyoung couldn't see her of course because he was still sitting and his cheeks were against her stomach.
Lily was about to say something but at the last moment decided against it and chuckled,"Nothing. Can I not hug my one and only best friend?"
Doyoung suddenly felt fear engulfing him. He quickly put his arms around her waist, hugging her back. Suddenly a thought that if he doesn't hug her back right now, he wouldn't be able to hug her ever came to his mind and scared the living daylight out of him.
"Why..are you being like this, Lily? Why are you talking like you're gonna die soon?"
Lily chuckled,"Told you tonight's theme is being dramatic."
Lily slowly let go, so did Doyoung. Doyoung for some reason felt empty after she let go. He felt an unknown fear about something. Even though Lily kept telling him nothing is up, he felt weird. Lily threw the bottles out and wished him good night after that and left for her room.
He on the other hand was consumed with worry. But on the other hand he felt so happy that she finally said what she felt about him. She thanked him for his friendship. He finally was assured that his friendship was precious to her. Unknowingly a few drops of tears ran down his face.
Damn, I really didn't want to cry a second time on this trip.
Embarrassing.
The next day was Christmas Eve. This day was the most fun of them all. All of them were out all day. Taking pictures of everything and anything. Eating to their heart's content. Just living life. Like a normal, functional family. Everyone was so incredibly happy, everyone's teeth hurt from smiling. Christmas decorations, fairy lights filled the whole city and everyone was cheering with excitement. The whole city had lit up with holiday cheers.
After a whole day packed with excitement they all finally gathered at the hotel suite, exhausted, unable to even stand up straight after such a long day.
"Oh! I'm so freaking tired!"Doyoung commented while plopping down on the couch.
"Me too!"Gaeul said as he plopped down on Doyoung.
"Ah! I don't even have enough energy to wash up!"Soobin complained,"I probably shouldn't have skied so hard today."
"Yeah you shouldn't have,"Jungkook said,"At one point I thought you're gonna break your damn leg,"Jungkook said while shaking his head disapprovingly.
"But I'm okay though!"Soobin said giving his signature wide smile.
"He's right, Soobin,"Lily said,"You shouldn't be doing things so dangerously. Ever. Today I saw that you were about to fall, what would've done if I weren't there?"
"But you're here,"Soobin said,"You're here to pull me up always, aren't you, noona?"
Soobin missed Lily's breath hitching up when Gaeul raised his head up look at the clock and said,"It's finally twelve! Merry Christmas, everyone!"
"Oh!"Soobin's eyes turned to the huge clock placed on the wall of the living room. His smile immediately grew bigger,"Merry Christmas!"
Doyoung sat up straight,"Merry Christmas!"
Jungkook patted Lily's back, being the only one beside Lily that knows that this might be their first and last Christmas together if things go south tomorrow,"Merry Christmas, everyone. Family hug, quick!"
Jungkook could hear Doyoung groans and complaints but everyone gathered around anyway and they had a big family hug. A long one at that.
Lily seemed the most reluctant one to let go of the hug. Jungkook understood it completely.
After the hug, Soobin said,"Guys, I think we should go to sleep now after washing up. We have a long day tomorrow too. This is going to be the best Christmas ever! I have a lot planned."
Jungkook could see as Lily gave a broken smile his way and Doyoung and Gaeul nodded, excitedly.
As they were about to head into their rooms Lily stopped them. At first she ran to Soobin and hugged him tightly.
"Oh?"Soobin was shocked but hugged back immediately, smiling,"Is everything alright, noona?"
Lily nodded,"I'm...it's just our first Christmas together..I'm just really happy."
Soobin didn't think much of it, missing the slight voice crack of Lily. After awhile she hugged Doyoung and then Gaeul.
Doyoung looked at her and asked,"Are you sure, you're okay?"
"I'm more okay than ever that you guys are with me,"Lily said and she showed her rare, heartwarming smile.
That smile made everyone shut up. Jungkook doesn't blame them. The smile is the most beautiful sight to behold.
"Now, everyone go wash up and go to sleep,"Lily said,"We have a big day ahead."
So painfully true.
Lily opened her eyes in the middle of the night. It is 2 am. She should get rest for the morning but she just can't fall asleep properly. She is terrified, sad and all in all a huge mess. She is about to take the biggest step of her life. She has to leave all of this behind. Her family, her newfound happiness and even her lover. Jungkook has to go back to hell for a few days if everything goes right. That is the part of the plan. She promised she would wait for him. But according to him, a few days in hell maybe a few years in earth. How would she live without him for so many days? That too assuming if everything goes right. What happens if everything goes wrong? She might actually die and never be able to see Jungkook ever again. That thought terrified her.
When Lily opened her eyes she thought she would see Jungkook sleeping peacefully beside her. But to her surprise she saw him looking right back at her.
"Why aren't you asleep?"Lily asked.
"Probably the same reason as you,"Jungkook smiled sadly.
Lily took a deep breath and looked away. The more she looks at him, the more her heart hurts. It feels as if someone is squeezing her heart,"I'm scared, Kook."
"Anyone would be, Lil. Do you...do you want to stay back while I go and do it all.."
"No,"She said firmly,"First of all I can't and won't send you into that danger alone. Second, I will be the one to end this all. Third, just no."
Jungkook sighed,"So unnecessarily stubborn, Lily."
Silence covered the room like a thick blanket of wool. Both of their heart's beating with the same rhythm.
"I..don't think I will be able to sleep tonight,"Lily said.
"Should I make you fall asleep with my spell?"
"No. Let's do something else that'd help."
"What?"
Lily looked at him,"Let's go out."
"What? You can't be serious right now."
If the look on her face wasn't clear enough then her getting up from the bed and putting on her jacket made it clear enough that she was not joking and was very serious about going out at 2am.
Jungkook shook his head and sighed.
"Aren't you coming?"
Jungkook got up and said,"Of course, I'm coming. You are my partner after all."
Lily nodded,"Instead of weeping, we should do the last few hours of our partnership doing something meaningful."
Jungkook felt a big pang on his heart as she said it. True but it still hurt.
Last few hours of partnership.
Jungkook thought they were walking around the cold streets aimlessly while holding hands. He wouldn't have minded if that was the case. Holding the hand of your lover and walking around the city seemingly with no place in mind was really romantic to him. He loved holding her hand. He loved walking with her. He loved talking with her. He loved everything about this girl. He loved her. So much so that it hurts.
Jungkook really did not know she had a destination in her mind. He finally found that out when she brought her to the very center of the city. Where the biggest Christmas tree was situated. Around the Christmas tree was a lot of stores, all closed of course. But the Christmas tree was beautifully decorated with a lot of ornaments, socks and so much more. It was decked out, extravagant and the biggest Christmas tree Jungkook has ever seen in his entire life.
"Woah,"Jungkook said as his eyes fell on it.
"Beautiful, Huh?"Lily asked.
"Very."
There was not a single soul here aside from them. The Christmas tree lights were outshining all the street lamps and even the stars in the open sky.
"Why are we here, Lily?"
"To follow a tradition."
"What?"
Lily didn't reply. A glint of mischievousness was seen in her before she pulled him under the tree, held both of his hands and looked in his eyes. Right then her eyes turned serious,"Jungkook-ah, I've been meaning to say this to you for a long time. And for a long time I've thought about this."
"What?"Jungkook asked a little bit taken aback by her sudden change of demeanor.
"Listen. I feel things for you."
Jungkook frowned at the weird sentence,"What?"
Lily took a deep breath. Seemingly going through what she is about to say next in her head,"We have a big day today. And a lot of things are happening and a lot of things might just go wrong, right?"
"Right,"Jungkook said in a low voice.
"But do you know what I'm scared of the most?"Lily asked.
"What?"
"Of never being able to see you again. Losing you. You never coming back to me,"Lily said and chuckled,"It sounds stupid, right? Why am I worried about that when I have so many more things to worry about? Like facing my biggest fear?"
Jungkook's heart melted. He didn't know Lily was so scared of him being gone. But he has to go back to hell for a few days if he manages to get rid of Lin. He has to convince his master about his plan. If he can't do it right after getting rid of Lin, he is afraid it would be too late. But he will return to her as soon as he can. Even he won't be able to live without her.
"Lily, trust me. I will return to you. All you need to do is just be patient and wait just a little bit. I'm doing this all for us,"He said while squeezing her heart reassuringly.
"I know that. I trust you. But still I'm scared out of my wits,"Lily said,"Anyway, I thought about what all of this feelings might be and it was very confusing as I've never experienced it before. But I've finally figured out what it is. What this feeling is that gives me so much pain but also gives me so much happiness at the same time. Infact the most happiness that I've felt in my life. I finally know what it is."
Jungkook was completely ready to console her about all of this. He was very concerned about her rambling suddenly. He was about to pull her in a hug. He was so sure that she was rambling so much because she was scared about tomorrow. But the next thing she said made his heart stop. His whole body freeze. His mind go into a mess.
"I love you, Jungkook."
Jungkook couldn't breath. Neither could he believe what he just heard. The words flew out of her lips so harmoniously, taking his breath away. He was waiting for her to say these three words for so long. He knew she didn't know what love was and knew very well it would take her time to realize that she loves him. He had been so eagerly waiting for this day to come where she realizes the feelings she has for him are love. Nothing but pure, unadulterated love. The most beautiful feeling in the world.
"What..did you just say?" Jungkook's voice came out raspier than usual. His insides were turning upside down. A part of him feared that what he heard was an illusion. His mind playing tricks on him to divert him from everything that's gonna go down today. He was scared that she wouldn't say it back again.
But to his pleasant surprise, she smiled at him and repeated those words,"I love you, Jungkook. I love you."
"Lily..I..I can't...oh dear..."Jungkook was panicking. Lily saw it and slowly approached him and pulled him into a hug,"It's okay. I know."
After his mind finally started processing he finally broke out from the hug, looked at her eyes and said,"I love you too, Lily. Only if I could tell you how much."
Lily's eyes twinkled,"I know."
"Thank you for making me the happiest man ever in this unfortunate day."
"Hey! Why unfortunate?"Lily asked,"It's Christmas!"
Jungkook chuckled,"You're right."
"We won't be able to follow most of the Christmas traditions. Baking cookies, singing carols, watching Christmas movies this year but we should at least follow one of them."
"What?"
Lily smiled at him and slowly leaned in. Jungkook's heart beat escalated as she leaned in closer and closer with each passing second. He didn't move and instinctively closed his eyes, waiting for it to happen. Waiting for her soft lips to touch his. And soon they did. It was the most passionate, full of love and the longest kiss they've ever had. And the most special one as well. After they pulled away Jungkook looked above and saw a mistletoe hanging on the Christmas tree. They were right under a mistletoe. Lily deliberately pulled him here. Jungkook didn't know if it was possible but that just made his happiness grow more. He couldn't help but remember one of the lyrics of one of the songs he liked.
Kiss me underneath the mistletoe,
Show me, baby, that you love me.
Doyoung woke up in cold sweat at six am in the morning. It doesn't make any sense taking into consideration that he was really tired the night before and he barely ever wakes up unless there are about five alarms assaulting his ear drums. He doesn't know why he feels his intuitions are telling him something is very wrong. That too with his best friend, Lily. He has been feeling weird since a long time about all of this, especially last night when Lily seemed so...off? And hugged all of them after wishing them a merry Christmas. Something was very very wrong. Doyoung tried to ignore it but now that he has woken up in cold sweat he can't anymore. He has to check up on Lily. He looked beside him and saw Gaeul sleeping peacefully. He slowly threw the blanked off him and went out of the room and walked up the stairs to Lily and Jungkook's room. For some reason he feels like they aren't here. If he now sees that they really aren't, he is gonna panic because why wouldn't they not be here at six in the morning? It's not like they are highly religious people that would go to the church as the first thing in the Christmas morning. And on top of that, Jungkook is a demon. Is he even allowed in church? Well..is he even allowed to celebrate Christmas?
Doyoung walked up to their room, with his heart drumming against his chest. He doesn't even know why he feels so scared. He just does. With a heavy heart he put his hand on the door knob and twisted it slowly.
....
It didn't open.
Doyoung sighed in relief. It was locked from the inside. That means they are still inside sleeping. He walked away. His heart feels much better now. He figured he would have a heart to heart with Lily as the first thing in the morning after she wakes up and make her tell him if there is something wrong with her. He would try his best to solve it, obviously.
After Doyoung returned to his room, something colorful caught his eye on his bedside table. He hadn't managed to notice it when he woke up. He tilted his head and walked closer to the colorful objects. He was pleasantly surprised to see two wrapped gifts sitting on the bedside table with his and Gaeul's name written with Lily's handwriting. A smile showed up in his face. He can't believe that Lily was playing Santa and gave them actual presents for Christmas.
Doyoung has never received Christmas presents. He felt giddy like a child and couldn't contain his excitement. He took the gift and slowly unwrapped the present, making sure to make as minimal noise as possible.
He widened his eyes when the gift turned out to be . He guessed he shouldn't be too surprised. Of course Lily knows everything about him, including his childhood dream that he failed to fulfill because...life. But this was really unpredictable but really meaningful. As Doyoung was flipping through the book, a letter fell out. Doyoung raised his eyebrows and he opened the letter expecting a letter being full of her praising herself for remembering what he wanted to be when he grew up. He was surprised to see that the letter was way longer than he expected.
Doyoungie,
Do you like my gift? You probably don't. No one likes receiving books as presents. But oh well, sucks to be you I guess.
Doyoung chuckled when he read the first paragraph.
Doyoung, do you remember what auntie used to say? That her son would become a lawyer when he grows up and put all of these bad guys in jail and fight for all of the ones that were trapped in that hell? She was so sure that her smart son would use his merit to make sure 'bad guys' got what they deserved.
How could he forget? How could he forget his mother patting his head every night and asking him to use his merit and intelligence to do something good when he grows up? How could he?
Your mother was an angel, Doyoung. One of the best women I've ever come across. She only wanted you to be a good boy. A good person. A diamond in the rough. It would be a shame if you don't fulfill her and your only wish for any longer.
We have been taking out 'bad guys', Doyoung. But just not as auntie wanted us to. It's finally time to do it properly. You are a good guy. Please do not delay this any longer and get your ass to studying. It is never too late. Please do this for auntie, for yourself and lastly for me.
I know all my life I've been holding you back. I do not wish to do so anymore. I want to see you fly. I want to see you be the best version of yourself. I want you to be a Doyoung that auntie and Gaeul can be proud of.
Also, I've never said this to you. And I won't ever say this to you again. So you better listen up properly. Doyoung-ah, I keep teasing you, giving you headaches, putting you in worst possible scenarios..but I've never once said it, that I'm thankful. Always was. Always will be. Your friendship was the only thing that kept me going, kept me from losing the last bit of sanity I've had left, kept me from becoming a bigger monster like my father. Only God knows what I would've become if you weren't there to stop me from ruining myself completely. If I say thank you a million times it would never be enough. But I will still try. Thank you Doyoung. For your friendship, your love, your warmth and attention. And sorry. I could never do much for you.
Why am I writing such things out of the blue? Well, because it's a new beginning for us. Your new beginning being you chasing after your dreams. My new beginning being finally breaking out from the hell I have been living in. I'm ending what had been started years ago. What my father started years ago.
Doyoung had tears running down his face, but when he read these lines his breath hitched up. Oh no. Oh no. This is taking a bad turn.
Yeah, I'm taking a big decision. Doyoung-ah, you are talented, smart, diligent that can do anything if he puts his mind to it. But me? The only thing I'm good at doing is killing. Murdering people. Taking out trash masked as 'humans'. That's also the only thing I know and like. I know, I tried to not like it but I know deep down maybe I'm just like my father. A blood thirsty monster. With that in mind, I'm out to do my last ever murder today. You can guess of whom. I'm going to end it all. It can go in the wrong way. I might die. And even if I don't, I will call the police on me.
Why, you ask? I never liked the police you know. You also don't. But Gaeul wants to be a policeman when he grows up. I want to see if there are any policemen left that actually do their job and want to do it properly.
Don't try to find me anymore, Doyoung. Not before you become a lawyer. I don't talk to peasants. Also don't try to associate yourself with my crimes anymore. I've already cleared out our hideout and your laptop of any reminiscent that links you to my crimes. No, I'm not taking the fall alone. You didn't do anything wrong. So please just don't. Please.
I'm taking the revenge on behalf of auntie and hundreds of other victims. The 'person' I'm against is probably worse than Satan even though Jungkook disagrees saying his master is the best. Hehe. Anyways..pray for me. But don't worry too much, Jungkook is with me.
Also..if I die(which I won't)..please..take care of my Soobin. I know you would've anyway. Thank you once again, Doyoung. It's pathetic that I can only thank you and not do anything for you.
