Chapter 29

To My Flower,

It is absolutely heartbreaking that you refuse to call for me even after the initial warning. Is your father sending a letter to Soobin not enough warning for you? Would you open your eyes after someone gets hurt? Why do you refuse to see that your 'partner' isn't anything but destructive for you. I am the only one that is genuinely concerned for you and wants the best for you. Only for you to refuse to see that.

This time, I have given your father the address to little Gaeul's school and a few photos of little Gaeul and Doyoung. I am going to make sure Gaeul is not hurt this time, not because I care, but because you are going to be heartbroken if Gaeul is hurt. Consider this as my second and last warning and think do you really not need me?

Also hurry to Gaeul's kindergarten, my dear.

Yours truly,
Lin.

Not surprisingly, Lily's morning wasn't pleasant. She had found the letter as the first thing in the morning under the threshold of her door. Jungkook was also less than amused when he saw the letter. Needless to say the both ran to Gaeul's school as soon as they finished reading the letter.

Gaeul's school just ended. All of the students rushed out of their class while Gaeul took his time. Doyoung had always told him to come down slowly. He doesn't want Gaeul to get hurt in a sea of children pushing each other. Gaeul also stays back and puts all the chairs back into their place as class becomes a mess after everyone rises out. Gaeul's teaches love him for it. One more reason to love Gaeul. Doyoung always waits for Gaeul even if he is late.

While he does that barely anyone comes to the class. Sometimes teacher come and praise him for his good work. But that's about it. Nothing out of the ordinary happens. But today something happened.

"Oh you must be Gaeul. Such a good boy for putting the chairs back in their place!"

Gaeul turned around at the sudden unfamiliar voice. He saw a rather unfamiliar man. Probably in his sixties, a very friendly looking man. But there was something incredibly off about this guy.

Gaeul bowed,"Hello."

"Hello,"The gentle man said, smiling. There was something so unsettling about this smile.

Gaeul for some reason finds something a tiny bit familiar about this man. But what is it, he can't point out.

The man walked towards him. Gaeul this time sees another man enter the room with long silver hair. He just stands at the door, looking out the door while the older grandpa approaching him. Gaeul immediately felt uneasy. He slowly put his hand in his bag, touching the phone Doyoung bought him, ready to call Doyoung.

"You really look like my son when he was young. It is almost uncanny."

"Oh? Really?"

"Also you seem strong. Dongyoung..oh I mean Doyoung must be taking great care of you!"

Gaeul was intrigued at the mention of Doyoung,"Do you know hyung?"

"Of course I do! I raised him,"He smiled.

"Really?"

He nodded,"Anyway, little man. I have a little question for you. I am searching for one of his childhood friends. My daughter. Do you know if Doyoung ever meets someone called Yerim?"He smiled.

Gaeul was confused,"Yerim?" He has never heard of that name before,"No he has no friends like that. He only has a three friends."

The long silver haired guy seemed satisfied with his answer. As if he was relieved that Gaeul didn't reveal too much.

"Three friends? Could you tell me their names?"

"Ah! There's Jungkook hyung..Li.."

The long silver haired guy suddenly screamed,"We gotta go. Someone is coming."

"Just a secon.."

"No, now!"

The grandpa sighed. And handed Gaeul a letter,"Please. Give this to Doyoung and tell him that I miss him so much. And I'm begging him to help me find my daughter."

Gaeul nodded holding the letter.

With one last unsettling smile the two of them left the class room. Gaeul let out a breath of relief. At one point he really thought he was about to get kidnapped, he doesn't know the reason why, he just thought so. He felt guilty for thinking so poorly of an older gentleman but Doyoung has always taught him to follow his gut feelings. If situation got worse Gaeul would've tased the man with the taser Doyoung bought him.

Gaeul inspected the envelope. It was nothing out of the ordinary. He was about to put the letter in his bag but before he could he heard someone frantically shouting his name. Gaeul frowned at the familiar voice this time.

Cold noona?

Before he could do something Lily bursted into the classroom and when she saw Gaeul she sighed in relief. She ran to him, got on her knees to look at him in the eye while holding her shoulder,"Are you okay?"

"Yes..why.."

"Are you sure?"

Gaeul nodded.

"Did someone try to hurt you?"Lily asked.

"No..but a haraboji gave me this letter to give to Doyoung hyung. He said he wanted to search for his daughter and needed Doyoung hyung's help."

"Oh,"Lily said,"Give me the letter."

"Sure,"Gaeul handed Lily the letter,"But noona Why are you here?"

Before she could reply Jungkook bursted through the door looking worried as hell. He also held Gaeul and asked him the same question Lily asked few moments ago. Gaeul was confused and overwhelmed by all of this.

"Gaeul-ah,"Lily said,"If you ever see this haraboji once again, run in the other direction, okay?"

"Huh?"

"Yes. And do me a favor. Don't tell Doyoung what happened and don't tell anything about this letter, Okay?"

"But why?"

"Because I don't want to worry Doyoung and make him search for this haraboji's daughter. Listen to noona, okay?"

Gaeul slowly nodded.

"And don't you worry, I will help the haraboji find his daughter."

"Do you know the daughter?"

"Oh I know her very well."

Gaeul felt shiver down his spine when she said it. Gaeul could finally pinpoint why that haraboji seemed oddly familiar. His voice.

It was just as icy cold and bone chilling as Lily's. Even though he was smiling, his voice was scary.

Isn't it weird that both of them have the same icy cold voice?

Lily and Jungkook sat on a bus after taking Gaeul out of his school and found Doyoung waiting for Gaeul outside. Doyoung was quite confused when he saw Lily and Jungkook come out of the school with Gaeul. Lily was too much of a mess inside to explain anything to anyone so Jungkook took charge and said they wanted to take Gaeul to get ice cream. Gaeul understood the situation and he acted extremely excited for the ice cream. Doyoung bought the excuse and they went to the nearest ice cream parlor. And now Lily and Jungkook were finally heading home. Lily didn't say anything during the whole time. Jungkook was glad that the bus was fairly empty.

Lily took a window seat and Jungkook sat beside her while looking at her worriedly. Her hoodie was drawn over head. She finally spoke,"He personally came to Gaeul. Personally. Gaeul saw him."

Jungkook nodded. He still can't believe Lily's father personally came to visit Gaeul this early. Things are getting really serious, really fast.

Lily got the letter out of her pocket and slowly opened it.

"Lily, you shouldn't read it.."

Before he could finish Lily already had opened the envelope and got it out. It wasn't a letter, it was a picture. Of Soobin. During his childhood. Lily flipped the picture and saw written behind the picture.

Can you guess if this is Gaeul or Soobin? Hehehe..!

Let me not beat around the bush by introducing myself because I know my smartypants Dongyoung already knows who I am. I am searching for my daughter. If you help me find her, I promise I will lessen your punishment for daring to escape and leave Gaeul alone. You surely do know, where she is don't you? Of course you do. You two were inseparable since birth. She only has you in this whole wide world.

Hehe, I will be waiting for a response, Dongyoung-ie. Give your answer to Gaeul, I will collect it from him!

Don't worry, I won't hurt him..yet.

Your loving uncle.

Lily crinkled the photo. Lily mumbled under her breath,"I will kill him. I will kill him. I.."

Jungkook put his arm protectively around Lily,"Lil.."

"I will kill him, Jungkook."

"Yes, I know,"Jungkook looked around the bus to see if someone heard them. Gladly everyone was minding their own business.

"I will kill him right fucking now!"

"Listen, Lily, Let's calm down first."

"No, Jungkook. You don't understand. First Soobin, now Gaeul and Doyoung. He's found Gaeul's school address, it's a matter of time before he finds Doyoung's address. No! No, that can't happen. I won't let them get hurt. We have to do something quick."

"Lily, Yes, I get it. I.."

Jungkook held back a breath. He has been crafting this plan for so long. Ever since he saw V. But the dangers of this plan is why he held back saying it to Lily. But now, he has to say it anyway.

"Lily, I have a plan,"Jungkook paused,"If we can execute it, all of our problems would be solved. We would be able to get rid of both Lin and your father."

Lily finally turned to him,"What?"

"There are a lot of things to be done and a lot of steps to be taken to ensure everyone's safety."

Lily nodded.

"For this plan to be executed perfectly, I need your trust Lily. Your complete trust. Do you trust me?"

Lily looked at him directly in the eye and slowly replied.

"With my whole life, Jungkook."

Jungkook's heart melted after he heard that. Isn't it wrong for his heart to flutter in this extremely serious, life changing situation. Especially when the next things he is about to say is going to be absolutely astonishing.

Jungkook looked at Lily's eyes, that were not a void of darkness anymore. He smiled and then said.

"Lily, we have to break our bond first."

Lin was sitting on a bench beside a beautiful, serene lake beside Seoul. This place was stunning. He had been waiting for quite awhile. He looked at his watch. It's 12:30. 30 minutes of waiting. Lin is not a patient man. Never in his life has he ever waiting for anyone. But this was different. He was happy waiting for someone. He was happy that she called him to meet. He just knows a good news is coming his way. He feels it. Why else would she ask him to meet her without her 'partner'?

Lin chose this place to meet. Not only because it was beautiful, but also because this lake had pink and white lilies in them. Symbolic and just as beautiful as the girl he's going to meet with the same name.

A smile played on Lin's face.

Lin only knew how to break, shatter and destroy everything around him. He craved power over everything and everyone. Even his so called 'master.' Lin believed he was created to rule, to be worshipped, to be powerful. And powerful he was. Ever since his creation. He came out of Hell only to increase his powers through these measly humans. For a long time he observed humans, picking his targets carefully. He saw the potential of Lily's father that's why he made a bond with him. And it worked. Sooner or later he would become more powerful if he keeps it up with her father.

But the problem was, he didn't want to keep it up. He didn't want to go back to hell and rule over everyone. Ever since he saw her. His little flower. Her soul was pure white when she was born. Lin at first wasn't interested at all. But when she turned three, she captured his attention.

Lin still vividly remembers the incident, her father was hurting her mother as per usual. Lin was bored and was sitting on a countertop, pretty unamused by everything. But then he saw her, little three year old Lily, run to her father with a kitchen knife and lunge at him with it. She wasn't crying, she just kept screaming 'father bad' while she stabbed her father on the shoulder. Lin saw that crazed, sadistic look on her face. Just like her father. That's when Lily captured Lin's attention. And her father's too. Her father knew that she is just like him. That's why he started taking Lily to his crimes outside the Care Facility when she got a little older. Lin used to be quite unamused but ever since Lily started to come, she would have her entire attention. He would study her actions, every expression, every frown, every twitch of her lips, everything. Lin had never seen anyone like that before. How she was soft like a flower but there were times she would have her thorns stick out. Like while protecting Soobin, her natural softness would be nowhere to be found. So interesting!

He could see her real potential. Ever since she was little. He just knew she would become someone way more useful to him that her dad when she grows up. Lin wanted to see and experience every part of her life. He wanted to see what would her breaking point be. When she would realize being nice wouldn't get her anywhere. He wanted to see her break, shatter inside, he wanted to see everything. He was more than pleased when he saw her breaking point first hand. He saw her injecting poison in her mother's veins. He saw how her soul turned completely black from pure white. He saw her push him down the lake and watch as he drowned while begging for his life. That night Lin once again saw the crazed look on her face, the hunger for murder, the need to slaughter. It was fun to see her realize it too when she turned fifteen and made this her job. He saw it all. She looks absolutely stunning as she bludgeons someone with a smirk on her face. Nothing can be more beautiful.

He didn't warn her father that night of what Lily and Doyoung were planning. He didn't tell him about the escape even though he knew about it. Why? Because Lin wanted sole ownership over her. That wouldn't happen when he was around her. No. That's why he so many things from his partner. About her escape, about her whereabouts even though he knew where she was. He always knew where she was, because he had a clip of hers. One that her mother gave her, one that she treasured. But she had left it during the escape. Lin held on to it, that's how he could find her always. But last year her father, for some weird reason went through Lin's belongings and misplaced it. Hence last year he had to live without seeing her. And in this one year she did so much stuff that he disapproves of. Getting a partner that's not him? Straying away from crime? Preposterous.

Lin immediately went to the Care Facility after he and her father returned to Korea to find some remaining belonging of Lily to find her. He surprisingly found some unused fireworks on the roof. Fortunately they belonged to Lily and those brought him back to his flower.

He knows the feelings he has for Lily are destructive, obsessive, dangerous and downright worst. But he is a demon. He is supposed to do bad stuff. He believes he is doing everything for her. He would make a bond with her, gain more power, have her by him and never let her stray from any crimes. That's when she is the most beautiful after all! He isn't thinking about returning to hell. He just wants to be her partner. Call it obsession or whatever sick term anyone may, he is going to make that happen.

Lin's train of thoughts were broken when he could feel her walk towards him. He smiled and looked at her as she walked closer to him, with a cigarette in her hand. Her big puffer jacket and flared jeans made her look more small and vulnerable than usual. She came and sat beside him while smoking and looking at the lake.

"You came,"Lin said.

"Well...Yeah,"Lily said while letting the smoke out of her mouth, frowning lightly due to the sunlight.

"So, what did I deserve to get the pleasure to see you today?"

Lily chuckled, quite sarcastically,"You know pretty well why I called you, didn't you?"

"Is it a sin to still wanting to hear this from you?"

Lily finally looked at him in the eye,"I want two things from you, Lin."

"What might they be?"

"One, I want you to stop harassing Soobin, Doyoung and Gaeul. Never search for them or bother them. And two, take me to my father. Make it so I can kill him with my own hands."

Lin chuckled at her strong, confident, even ordering tone.

"What do I get from this?"Lin asked.

"Whatever the fuck you want. I'm going to do whatever you want if you let me kill that bastard."

"Right,"Lin said.

"So what do you want?"

"Is that even a question? I've been saying this for over a decade. Make a bond with me."

"What about your bond with father?"

"I am going to break it."

"You are going to betray my father? After your years of partnership? Just like that?"

"Yes. I am a devil, sweetheart,"Lin said,"Him expecting loyalty from me is his problem. Not mine."

Lily chuckled and muttered under her breath,"You're so different from Jungkook."

Lin heard it anyway. He could feel a bitter taste in his mouth at the mention of him,"Is that so, sweetheart?"

"Anyway! Listen, I have a plan and we need to get over with it fast, you hear me?"

"Please elaborate your plan, my flo.."

"Stop with that nickname,"Lily said,"I absolutely despise it."

"I'm afraid i can't. I like it."

Lily sighed,"Suit yourself, I guess. Listen to my plan and here are things you need to do. You need to bring father somewhere at the given time."

Lily elaborated her plan of killing her father in front of him. Her ice cold expression while she detailed how she was planning on murdering her own father gave him adrenaline rush. She said it would all take place on a day after Christmas.

"Understood?"Lily asked.

"Yes, I would do what you say. But,"Lin said,"How do I be sure that you are going to keep your end of the deal? How do I know that you are actually planning on breaking your bond with your partner that you adore so very much?"

"About that...I promise I will do that right in front of you that day. Before I do anything about my father. If I don't, you can take my father and leave and let him continue to ruin my goddamn life I guess,"Lily shrugged.

"Sounds fair. Even though you have my utmost affection, you better remember before I commit to you and break a bond with your father, you have to break the bond with your pathetic whin.."

"Jungkook. His name is Jungkook,"Lily said.

Lin chuckled humorlessly. He was very unhappy the way she kept pronouncing his name in front of him and defending him.

"Anyways. I get what you mean and I will keep my end of the promise,"Lily said.

"Another question,"Lin said.

"Ask away,"Lily said.

"Why after Christmas? Why not today? Why wait? Were you not waiting for this forever?"

"Simple,"Lily said,"I want to spend one Christmas properly with my close ones and with my boyfriend before I betray him and break the bond with him. Is it too much to ask for?"

"Closed ones? Boyfriend? Celebrating Christmas?"Lin asked, slightly annoyed by her response,"The Lily I knew never cared about these. What has your partner done to you, oh goodness."

Lily chuckled at that,"Good things, I guess."

Lin's frowned got deeper. His heart was burning with rage,"You know wha? No."

"What no?"

"Let's do it on Christmas. I will only do it if you do it on Christmas, not after Christmas."

Lily frowned,"Does me spending my Christmas happily bother you that much?"

"No, you spending Christmas with him is what bothers me. So what do you say?"

Lily sighed and slowly said,"Fine."

Lin shook his head and then looked at her. Her being so visibly affected by not being able to Christmas with that Jungkook irked Lin. He hated it,"Do you perhaps...love Jungkook?"Lin himself felt disgusted at that word. And the thought of her being tainted with these kind of unnecessary feelings was ridiculous,"Have you fallen for him?"

Lin expected an answer immediately. But for once Lily seemed taken aback by his question. She thought about it for a mere second and then looked at the sky while taking a drag from her cigarette.

"The weather is nice today."

A few days later, Doyoung was extremely suspicious when Lily and Jungkook suddenly announced a skiing trip for all of them. According to Lily and Jungkook it was a surprise they have been planning for really long. They've booked a few rooms in a skiing resort in . For all of them. That included Soobin, Doyoung, Gaeul, Miko and even for Soobin's parents.

What?

A different room had been booked for his parents, and they would be given everything they need. They don't need to hang out with the rest of them if they don't want to. Lily kept saying how she has been saving up all of her money for all these years and she reckons this is finally time for her to do something nice with it. Hence she is giving them this surprise lavish vacation. She also said she owes Soobin's parents everything she has for taking care of Soobin, this vacation is a small token of that gratefulness.

Soobin was ecstatic when he heard about this vacation. Having both of his families together in a vacation seemed like heaven to him. He quickly talked to his parents and they also agreed. They could use a getaway. They had a few days off because it was the holiday season and they could take a few more off because they had some vacation days left. Gaeul was also really happy. He was bouncing around the whole house when he heard about this vacation. It would be his first ever vacation.

Doyoung on the other hand couldn't be as happy as them. He was getting all sorts of weird vibes from Lily and Jungkook. First of all, Lily isn't like this. He has known her for his whole life for God's sake. She isn't one to suddenly surprise people with a vacation. Secondly, he has been feeling weird ever since Lily and Jungkook showed up at Gaeul's school. Gaeul refuses to tell him anything but that doesn't mean Doyoung isn't suspicious.

Something is very wrong. Very very wrong.

But he doesn't have the heart to ruin this for Soobin and Gaeul. They are beyond excited.

Doyoung has to figure out what was happening.

He will ask the two of them what was going on as soon as they reach the resort.

He will get to the bottom of it soon enough.
