The house felt like a graveyard. The air was thick and heavy. Everything felt ominous and dark.

Lin was having the time of his life. Roaming around Lily's room. Touching and inspecting things that did not belong to him while Jungkook was stuck in a corner of the room with Lily behind him, letting Lin have his way. Jungkook hated the fact that Lily was holding him back from using his powers to destroy this prick. Lily kept talking about how Lin would hurt him instead, he's really powerful. Jungkook could care less about getting hurt right now, especially when his lover's mental health is declining due to this prick's sudden arrival on her birthday. Lin had stated that he has some very important information to give her, Lily hated the fact but that is one of the reasons she let him stay around.

Lin seemed fascinated by her collection of vinyl records. He grazed through all of them before picking one and playing it on her vinyl player. The silent room filled with Lily's favorite piece. Lin closed his eyes as if he's immersed in the music before looking straight at Lily,"Your mother used to love this one, do you remember? Every time she would get tortur.."

"You son of a..."Jungkook was about to lunge towards Lin once again but Lily held him back and whispered,"Calm down, Kook. The more riled up you get, the more fun he will have."

Lin chuckled and sat on her bed while crossing his legs as if he were some sort of royalty. He then looked back at Lily, almost sadly,"Why him, dear? Why him and not me? What do I lack?"

Is that jealousy Jungkook detects? Is this Lin guy jealous that she chose Jungkook as her partner and not him?

Lily had frowned and slowly pushed Jungkook away and stood in front of him. She had pulled herself back. She had figured out Jungkook was full of rage now. This would just entertain Lin more. She had to step out and take care of this so Jungkook doesn't end up getting hurt,"Is that why you're here? To act like a sore ass loser?"

Lin looked down and chuckled before looking up,"Still feisty as ever, Huh, my little flo.."

"I told you many times to not call me that, you deaf son of a.."Lily said through her gritted teeth.

"Ah, you wound me, dear,"Lin said while clutching his heart dramatically,"As you always have."

"Listen, I really don't have time for your bullshit, as you know it's my birthday, and in case you don't know, you're one unsightly thing to see on my birthday. Both my boyfriend and I don't appreciate your visit. If you don't have anything important to say, fucking leave. Well, even if you have something important to say...still leave. I'm over it."

"Boyfriend, Huh?"Lin pushed his tongue against the inside of his cheek.

Lily shrugged,"Leave. And don't find me again. I've given it a thought and figured out, no matter what information you might have for, it's useless for me now."

"Are you sure about that? Are you sure you really want me to leave?"

"Affirmative,"Lily said while crossing her hands over her chest but still standing in front of Jungkook, hiding him behind her.

"Even if I tell you where your father is?"

Jungkook knew that it was Lily's one and only wish to find her father and kill him. This Lin guy is using that, isn't he? Lily has been dying to find that information forever. There's no way she's gonna let him go without getting to know about his whereabouts. Jungkook saw how Lily's faux confident demeanor had a little crack as soon as she heard that. But soon she regained her confidence and said shocking Jungkook,"I told you I was over it. I'm over it all."

Jungkook widened her eyes.

As if Lily could sense his shock she turned her head to him, threw a small reassuring smile at him,"I told you I was gonna give you a present on my birthday."

In midst of this tragedy, Jungkook could feel his heart melt. Lily was planning on giving up on this violent life? She was giving up on finding her dad? That's the best news he has heard ever! Jungkook felt the sudden urge to snatch Lily away and hug her in his arms and never let go. But his dreams were quickly shattered by Lin's annoyingly pretentious way of talking and his annoying smooth voice,"What has he done to you, my little flower? Were you not the one that was pestering me all those years to let you know where your father is?"

Lily frowned,"Well, you didn't tell me then, so why the fuck are you back after so many years and now urging me to do shit that I don't want to?"

"Because back then you would've lost against your father. You were small and powerless, fragile even."

Lily squinted her face in disgust,"Aha? So you mean to say, you were so worried about me dying that you didn't tell me where my father was?"

"Yes."

Jungkook's hands curled up in fists at the audacity if this prick. What the fuck?

Lily laughed out loud, her coldness could freeze up anyone. Her laughter was uncontrollable,"That is the funniest thing, I honestly have ever heard."

"Really, I was and am still worried about your father harming you. Or anyone harming you. I truly apologize that I was not able to come and see you all these years face to face as your father insisted on us moving from country to country. Teleporting from one country to another is really tiring, dear. But I still kept an eye on you, well, I couldn't for the past year, as we were busy. But that is why all those years you were without any harm."

Lily frowned,"So you're telling me that you watched over me even after I last saw you?"

"Yes,"Lin said, smiling, as if he was demanding praise from Lily.
"What kind of sick perverted stalking ass creep are you? What the fuck?" Lily asked, beyond disgusted.

Lin was really offended by Lily's remark,"See? I left you for one year and what this pathetic excuse of a demon did to you? 'Being over this life'? 'Having a happy life'? Smiling? What nonsensical things did he feed to you? And what kind of fool did you turn into one year that you believed in his nonsense and forgot the purpose of your life, flower?"

Jungkook widened his eyes. This Lin guy is beyond crazy. Not only does he have a good bone in his body, also he has a weird obsession with Lily on top of that.

Lily again stopped Jungkook by gently pushing him behind her,"I really do not need to know about what is the purpose of my life from you, Lin. Leave while I'm being nice."

"Appalling,"Lin said,"Really what has he done to you? Are you under spell?"

"Or perhaps he thought me the meaning behind my life isn't being an absolute piece of shit that you want me to be?"Lily said and shrugged,"Lin, find another scrape goat to harass. I really am done playing your games. I don't want to know where my father is. Neither do I want to have anything to do with you. Bye?"

Lin shook his head as if he couldn't accept what she was telling him,"I'm asking once again if you're sure. Because this just might be the most idiotic thing you've ever done."

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure,"Lily said smugly.

Lin suddenly laughed. That sent a shiver down both of their spines. Lin laughed uncontrollably and then looked straight at Lily,"I knew this. But big mistake not taking my hand, sweetheart. You are going to regret this."

"We will see,"Lily said.

"I really shouldn't say this. But because of my undying loyalty towards you.."

Lily laughed at that. Lin smirked but continued,"..I'm giving you a little bit of information. Your father is searching for you."

Lily stopped moving when she heard that. Jungkook did too. Why the fuck would he be searching for Lily?

"He's been searching for you since he returned to Korea. But due to your partner's spell any threat..aka your father wouldn't be able to find you. And also I wouldn't tell him because well...due to my affection towards you, my little flower. You are going to be impossible to find. But guess who is very much possible, easy even to find?"Lin's slick smirk was making Lily dizzy.

She froze. Jungkook too. Lin couldn't possibly be talking about...

"That's right! Soobin!"Lin chuckled,"In fact he has already found his address that he lives at currently, and I asked him to take things slow..hence he only just sent a very loving letter to Soobin's name. I knew how much it would hurt you if Soobin got hurt. Hence I told him to stop right at the letter. But it might escalate, my flower. I can't promise you anything."

Only if Jungkook could smack the smirk off of Lin's absolutely smug face right now.

"What do you want, Lin?"Lily asked. Her voice went lower than the deepest darkest seas. No one messes with Soobin and gets away with it.

"What your father wants is to get to you through Soobin. And what I want?"Lin smirked,"Leave him,"He paused,"And make a bond with me. I will make you achieve your goal in a second."

"You little..."Jungkook couldn't control it anymore.

"Kook. It's okay,"Lily said,"And you, Lin. That will never happen. Not because Jungkook has cast a spell on me. But because I absolutely despise you."

"Ouch,"Lin smirked,"Don't answer so hastily, dear. Soon you will eat your words. I can be the only one that can make this whole situation harder for you, or be your one and only savior."

Lin then pulled his sleeve a bit back revealing his silver watch,"Oh, the letter has already reached Soobin's home. You don't wanna be late and cause poor little Soobin distress now, do you?"

Lin walked towards Lily and slowly leaned in front of her,"What? You are boiling on the inside, aren't you? You want to kill your father, don't you sweetheart?"

Lin chuckled,"See? You're nothing without murdering, my dear. You are born to do this. Life without murder? Being over this life?"Lin let out an amused, sinister chuckle,"Don't kid yourself, my dear. You can never live like that."

"Shut your trap, Lin,"Lily said looking at him straight in the eye.

"Suit yourself,"Lin said,"I shall take my leave now.."

"Oh please do,"Lily said sternly.

"But don't worry, I will just be one call away. Call me and I shall be right in front of my little flower. I have saved my number in your phone."

Lin then looked at Jungkook, his face and eyes hardened,"And you fool, you know nothing. You think Lily looks the prettiest when she smiles? Wrong! She looks the prettiest when she has blood splatters all over her face."

Lily grabbed Jungkook's hand before he could throw hands. Lin smirked when he saw that,"See you around, my flower!"

He flicked his slender fingers and in a blink of an eye he disappeared into thin air.

Lily took a deep breath when he finally left. Her legs were jelly, she finally sat down on the floor. Jungkook quickly sat down beside her holding her,"Why didn't you let me beat that bastard into pulp?"

This is the first time in ever Lily was the one who was Jungkook back and Jungkook was the one that was going to resort to violence. Who knew this day would come? Jungkook swears he could just kill this Lin guy.

"He might've hurt you, Jungkook. And he can't know how powerful you are, just not yet,"Lily said holding his shoulder for support.

"I don't give a damn if he hurts me. He ruined everything. He ruined the birthday that I wanted to be perfect for you,"Jungkook said, realizing he is also having a mental breakdown. Lin has a strong personality and he has effect on everyone. Even Jungkook.

"We can celebrate our birthday next year, Kook. For now..."Lily took a deep breath,"Take me to Soobin's house, immediately. We need to get rid of that letter before Soobin sees it."

"Lily-ah, you take care of yourself first. You seem to be having a meltdown. I will go and..no I can't leave you alone again.."

"I'm perfectly fine. I won't be fine if Soobin sees the letter and freaks out, Jungkook. Just take me there,"Lily said,"Right now."

Jungkook sighed,"Fine, Lily. Come with me."

Jungkook had teleported Lily to Soobin's front yard. Soobin's parents were well off, they lived in a well off, nice neighborhood. Their house was fairly big with a big lawn in front of them. Lily had never been here, she was in a hurry so she couldn't observe the house better. Most of the lights of the rooms were off, but one had the lights on on the second floor. It was Soobin's room. He could be seen as his study table was right beside the window. He was hunched over his study table, doing assignments like a normal university student would while blowing Lily's phone up with happy birthday messages in between. Lily and Jungkook tiptoed in their lawn and towards their mailbox in front of the front door. She grabbed the bunch of mails they had, shuffled through them and found an ominous looking black envelope addressed towards Soobin. Her stomach turned seeing the envelope. Badly.

Lily tore it, not being able to wait anymore, not even enough to teleport back to their home. She sat in the stairs in front of their house, the porch light being the only light that helped her see the contents of the letter.

Jungkook was looking around, being on the look out in case anyone spots them. He used his powers to shut off all the cctvs he could find around and inside the house, so they don't get caught. Lily took a deep breath before opening the letter. All the bad feelings bubbling inside her stomach, ready to come out any moment.

My dear Soobinie~~

Lily's blood boiled when he saw that oh so familiar handwriting after years. It gave her all the bad feelings that she hadn't been feeling for so long. Her whole body got goosebumps.

You know who I am, do you not? Just in case you don't, I shall remind you. I am your father. Your real father. Not the filmsy man that is acting as your father, your real flesh and blood. You were really small when we departed, but I'm not sure if you were so small that you forgot all the lovely time we had together. Weren't we such a great family? You, your sister, your mother and I?

Lily closed her eyes, took a deep breath. Her fist was crinkling up the side of the letter. Rage building up in her stomach like a hurricane.

Oh so perfect! I am quite angry at the fact that you left and are living away from me, your real father. That is a bad move. You do know what happens to bad bad boys, don't you? They receive punishments. I reckon you really did forget all of your memories from then, otherwise you wouldn't dare to have a life like this while your father is far away from you. Don't you worry, you will receive your punishment soon enough, little Soobin.

Oh? Is my Soobin scared? That's sad. I guess you are still the pathetic little child after all that is nothing but a whiner that hides behind his big sister. But don't you worry. This time, I may go easy on you. Only if...you can bring your sister to me. I have a lot of unfinished business with your sister whom I'm unable to find. I am quite sure your sister will come running to me when she finds out her littler whiny brother is in trouble, as she always has. The bond you two of have, brings tears to my eyes. Thanks to you, I have something to blackmail my dear daughter with. In this sense you are quite useful if I do say so myself. You are not completely good for nothing.

Lily's inside's were a mess. She wanted to burn this letter and the writer of this letter down into ashes. She wanted to burn this whole world down. Angry tears were about to come out but she pushed through and kept reading.

So bring your sister to me and then come and beg me on your knees like a pathetic little son of a bitch you are. Maybe then I will consider forgiving your ungrateful ass. I also still have the dog collar that I used on your mother, I'm sure that would suit you too.

Lastly, thinking of calling the police? Hahah, has that ever worked, my son? I will always be watching, don't do something stupid and put your current family in danger, especially your new mom. She might just take your mother's place in my basement. That also works out, I've been looking for a perfect substitute for long. She isn't as beautiful as your mother, but she will do. Everyone looks beautiful when they're completely broken. You will too. She will too.

Lily had enough. She really couldn't take it anymore. Just as she was about to start a normal life, without having her past hanging over her head like a pendulum, her past comes right back and smacks her right on the face. Just as she was about to forget how absolutely awful her father was, he comes back and reminds her why she hates humans so much. Why she wanted to kill him so much. Why she needs to kill him.

Lily couldn't hold back, she crinkled the paper in her hand and let out a blood curling scream. Jungkook widened his eyes,"Lily-ah?"

Jungkook grabbed her hand, understanding that they can't stay here any longer otherwise people will actually find out that they're here snooping around. Lily didn't let him, she pulled him down and made him sit beside her and handed him the crinkled letter,"Take a look."

Jungkook quickly breezes through the letter, pure disgust took over him. Jungkook knew what kind of vile person her father was...but this? This letter addressed to his own son? How can be a father be like this? How can be a person be like this?

"I really can't ever be normal, can I, Jungkook?"Lily asked,"How can I? I am this person's flesh and blood after all."

"Lily-ah.."

Before he could finish they heard footsteps coming from inside the house. Jungkook pulled her up and they hid behind a wall of the house. Jungkook kept his hand rested on the wall beside her shoulder. He was about to teleport them back home but she stopped him.

Soobin opened the door, coming down to investigate after hearing that sudden scream of her.

"Hello?"Soobin called,"Is anyone here?"

No reply. Soobin took a few steps out and was confused when he saw no one. If he walked a few more steps out, he would've spotted the two of them. But before he could, someone called him from the inside,"Soobin-ah, what're you doing out so late at night? It's cold, come back in!"

Soobin turned around,"Oh! Dad, I heard someone scream here, so I came to investigate thinking someone might need help."

"Oh Soobin, you must've heard wrong,"His dad said fondly,"And if you're not convinced why don't you call 911 and report it, just in case someone actually needs help?"

"I really should, shouldn't I?"Soobin asked smiling.

"And don't come out to save people so abruptly without any preparation. Of course, saving people is important, but some people are dangerous, son."

Lily's heart beat faster. The way he called him 'son' was so full of love, unlike the way their father wrote 'son' in the letter with such venom and animosity. Lily could pick that up.

Soobin smiled,"Anyway, why are you up so late, dad?"

"I came to get water and then saw the front door wide open,"He said,"Are you up due to assignments?"

Soobin nodded while cutely stomping back inside,"I hate it!"

"Want dad to keep you company while you finish it?"

"No no! I don't wanna keep you up till late, you have work tomorrow!"

"Ah! it's nothing. I can make you my fabulous cup of hot cocoa while I'm at it."

"You're the best, dad,"Soobin said while engulfing his father in a bear hug and closing the main door behind him.

The difference between Soobin's adoptive father and Soobin's real father was painfully large. Soobin always told Lily how good they treated him, she sometimes thought he said it only so would feel good about her decision, now Lily completely believes him. Lily completely believes she made the right choice. Since running away from that hell hole and leaving Soobin up for adoption, all of those choices were right. If she could, she would go in and get on her knees to thank his father Mr.Choi for taking such good care of Soobin.

What would've happened if they hadn't managed to run away? What would've happened to poor Soobin? Thinking about it gave Lily shivers.

Lily looked at Jungkook's eyes. His face was just centimeters away from her,"I'm sorry, Kook. I..I can't. I wanted to give you the present of a new life today but I can't. I can't change. I need to kill him. I need to take out the trash, Jungkook. I can't let him get to Soobin or to anyone else."

"Lily-ah.."

"And Lin was right about one thing. I am one crazy bitch that honestly likes killing people. That can never be changed. Even if I try...deep down this is who I am, Jungkook. And I think even the universe doesn't want me to stop. See what happened when I try to stop?"

"Lily-ah, can't you see Lin is trying to get in your head."

"I know that. But this time I can't stop. I have to kill my father. And...about Lin..it would be amazing if there was a way to take care of him too."

Jungkook sighed, seeing as the dream he had of a normal life with her slowly crumbling apart.

"I'm so sorry, Lily. That this happened,"Jungkook looked down, tears almost falling down his eyes,"I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. I am so sorry. Why can't anything go the right way? Why did this shit have to happen today?"

Lily sighed and slowly wrapped her arms around his waist pulling him closer to her and buried her face in his neck, trying his best to comfort him,"Why are you sorry? It was not your fault, Jungkook. Never your fault. This is just how my life's supposed to go."

Jungkook wrapped his big arms around her, pulling her in closer. Lily hates how much comforting his embrace was. Lily hates how the tears she was holding back were falling immediately as soon as he pulled her in his arms, her only safe place.

"I'm sorry, Jungkook. I pulled you into this mess that's my life,"Lily said.

"No, Lily. I wouldn't have it any other way,"Jungkook paused while stroking her hair gently,"Lily-ah, this time I'm with you. I want to get rid of those two too. I want you to get out of this nightmare and it might be the only way."

Lily nodded while slowly leaving his embrace and looking at him,"This time I surely will break out from this nightmare, Jungkook. No matter what this costs me."

Both of their tears looked like gemstones under the moonlight. Jungkook gave a smile,"I didn't get to say it in amidst of all this but Lily-ah, happy birth.."

Before he could finish a miracle happened. Snowflakes started falling down the sky. This year the weather was really cold but it was the first snowfall of the year. Beautiful. Lily cupped her hands and put them in front of her, catching snowflakes in her hand. As if even the universe was wishing Lily a happy birthday.

Jungkook admired Lily while she admired the snowfall that was starting to get heavy. He always wanted to watch the first snow with her. He had learnt from a drama that if you watch the first snowfall with the person you like, you will stay together for a long long time. Jungkook would've definitely preferred having this under different circumstances, but this was still so special for him. He could tell the snowfall will get really heavy. Possibly just like the day Lily was born.

"Happy birthday, Lily."

Lily's lips curved up in a smile but she didn't reply, just rested her head on his shoulder, watching the snowfall, ignoring all the chaos happening in her inside.

It's her birthday after all.

What'll happen, she'll see it in the future. For now the least she can do is have a moderately good time with her lover while watching the first snow and enjoy her birthday.

Well as much as she can enjoy after whatever just happened.
