"There's something going on between the two of you, isn't it?"

Jungkook whipped his head towards the narrow eyed Doyoung pointing his chopsticks at him and the one sitting beside him aka Lily. Soobin put his kimchi down and diverted all of attention on the two of them hearing Doyoung's remark. Gaeul did the same.

"Huh?"Jungkook asked, putting on his best actor face, pretending like he doesn't know what Doyoung is talking about.

Doyoung narrowed his further, judging all of Jungkook as he put a slice of pickled radish in his mouth,"Soobin-ah, don't you think there's something going on between these two?"

Soobin chuckled,"Hyung, what do you mean?"

Doyoung let out a sharp breath,"Don't you see something different about these two? Don't they seem weirdly closer?"

"Hyung, they were always close,"Soobin said.

"Yeah, But there's something up here. Hundred percent. I just can't put my finger on it. So you two better come clean."

"There's literally nothing to come clean about!"Jungkook defended the two of them. There is totally something up between him and Lily. He literally told her he loves her a few nights ago for crying out loud. These few days have absolutely amazing for the two of them. But they've never talked about how much or if they want to tell others about them yet. He knows they are gonna notice that something is up but he doesn't know if he should announce this news so causally while eating dinner at Doyoung's place.

Doyoung shook his head, not buying his words,"You two are planning something, aren't you? You two are purposefully excluding us from the plan. My guess it right, right?"

Jungkook frowned,"What? No. That couldn't be further from.."

"I see all through your web of lies,"Doyoung gave him a scrutinizing gaze, the gaze honestly could've scared Jungkook if he didn't know that Doyoung was the nicest person ever.

"Hyung, really stop talking about this and concentrate on the food. Isn't the bossam really tasty?"Soobin asked trying to divert Doyoung's attention, being able to guess what was actually happening.

Doyoung hissed and then looked at Lily who was eating her gimbap like that's the only thing that matters in the world and they are not even around her.

Jungkook slightly nudged Lily with his elbow, eyes begging her to help him,"Hey, Lily are we planning something? Why don't you tell Doyoung that there's nothing going on."

Lily just continued stuffing her mouth with gimbap. Doyoung turned to Soobin,"See? The way they interact is also a bit different. Ah, why can't I put my finger on it?"

Soobin was trying to make Doyoung understand that what he is thinking isn't correct. While they were talking Jungkook raised his eyebrows at Lily after nudging her again. He really didn't appreciate her not answering after he asked her to tell Doyoung there's nothing up. That just worked in the favor of raising his suspicion more. Lily just shrugged casually and lifted her chopsticks with the gimbap signing him with her eyes to take it if he wants it. That made Jungkook raise his eyebrows even more.

"No, I don't believe this,"Doyoung turned to Lily from Soobin,"Lily, now you better tell me. What's going on?"

"This gimbap place must be really famous,"Lily commented.

"Lily, really. Be serious. I want to know if there's something I should be aware of to save me from future trauma,"Doyoung said,"What are you doing, Lily?"

"Jungkook."

The whole room fell into pin drop silence at Lily's nonchalant but an atom bomb of an answer. Lily smirked after saying that, knowing very well what she's done. Doyoung dropped his chopsticks. Gaeul was confused by the sudden silence. Soobin was stunned trying to process what he just heard.

Jungkook widened his eyes,"LILY!"

"Oh my God,"Doyoung said and turned to Jungkook,"WHAT?"

"I can explain!" Jungkook said as quickly as possible.

"Is there anything to explain, Kookie?"Lily asked putting a spoonful of rice in her mouth casually in the middle of the mess she's created,"Is there anything to explain about 'I'm doing Jungkook'?"

Jungkook was beyond taken aback at this point. Why is this girl fueling the fire?

"OH MY GOD?!"Doyoung screamed, covering his mouth.

"Pause!" Soobin shouted and looked at Gaeul and kindly said,"Gaeul-ah? Are you done eating?"

Gaeul nodded,"Yes I am!"

"Then do you mind going into your room for ten minutes?"Soobin asked smiling.

"Sure,"Little Gaeul took his plate and chopsticks and kept it on the sink before going to his room with Miko and shutting the door.

As soon as he heard the door shut Doyoung and Soobin bursted,"WHAT DID YOU SAY?"

"Noona?? Hyung?"Soobin asked,"What's going on? Is this real?"

"Listen, listen pause. Calm down,"Jungkook said realizing he's gonna be the only one that would help himself out of this situation,"We didn't actually do it."

Lily snorted. Jungkook raised his eyebrows at her and then looked back at Doyoung and Soobin who looked almost traumatized,"We just ki.."

"We're dating,"Lily simply said,"That's what it is."

Jungkook looked at her. She looked back,"What? Am I wrong?"

Jungkook looked back at Soobin and Doyoung who were holding their breath, waiting for his answer,"Yes, we're dating."

"Oh my God,"Soobin and Doyoung both said simultaneously.

"Are you for real?"Doyoung asked,"The Lily is dating someone?"

"I mean..I could guess, but noona,"Soobin chuckled,"Did you have to announce it like that?"

Lily smirked and looked at Soobin,"It wouldn't be fun otherwise."

Jungkook sighed. That's such a Lily like answer.

Doyoung had calmed down a bit. He looked at Jungkook after she said that,"Brother do you see what you have gotten yourself into, because that,"He pointed at Lily,"That..is a lot."

"I know. I got into this knowing it. But she sometimes still surprises me,"Jungkook shook his head.

"Get yourself ready for a whole life time of surprises, boyfriend,"Lily winked at Jungkook,"Because you're not getting rid of me even in the afterlife."

Jungkook chuckled, shaking her hand fondly.

"I've always wondered what kind of person would be crazy enough to date this nutcase,"Doyoung said,"Or I've always wondered what kind of person that nutcase would fancy as her partner."

Lily smirked as Doyoung continued,"But I never thought you would end up with someone that's not even a person. She really needed the other realm to interfere to get a partner?"Doyoung shook his head,"Guess I shouldn't be surprised."

"Why?"Soobin smiled,"I think they are perfect for each other!"

Jungkook's chest swelled up with pride hearing that. He just knows Lily feels it too as she snakes her hand under the table and holds his hand.

Doyoung chuckled and said.

"Of course, what more perfect match could there be other than a diabolical blood thirsty psychopath and a morally correct devil?"

Lily had never experienced the feeling of 'love' in her entire life. Of course she loves Soobin, that was natural. He's her sibling, her love for him was born from her intense want to protect him from all the bad things in the world. From seeing his small, delicate self and having an unreal urge to never let anyone or anything harm that kid. Outside that, she has never really loved anything or anyone. So she doesn't know what it feels like or how it should feel like.

Is what she feels for Jungkook called love? Is this warm, fuzzy feeling she gets whenever she sees him called love? Is her feeling that she doesn't need to hide anything from him and can be her raw, real self in front of him called love? Is her small slip ups in front of him called love? Or is her wanting to trust her entire life with him and wanting to turn her life completely around just for him called love?

Whether her feelings for him were love or not, she had actual feelings for him.

But the questions was were her feelings for him larger than her desire for slaughter, blood and inflicting pain on people like her father?

She couldn't help but wonder that as she stabbed the neck of her latest victim, earning an animalistic scream and more blood spatters joined the rest of the splatters on her pale face. She used to feel that ungodly satisfaction when she would hear these blood curling screams, watch as the light left her victim's eyes, she would feel shivers of pleasure and goosebumps all over her body.

But this doesn't hit the same anymore though. This doesn't excite her as it used to. She doesn't know if she likes this anymore which is concerning. But honestly everything that is happening in her life is beyond concerning right now. Soobin is back, she has a family now, she is in a freaking relationship with a demon now, is any of this right?

Lily sat in front of the victim as that disgusting pile of shit's breathing got slower and slower. Lily had noticed in her long career as a killer that all of them look the same when they take their last breath, they look like both God and humans have left them, rejected them. The look of fear in their eyes, the look of agony as they realize that this is their last time seeing the earth and that they are gonna dive head first into the fire pit of hell is really amusing to see. That is the look on this one's face as well. Surely this one will also be kicked into the fiery pits of hell after he's assaulted many of his vulnerable girls and blackmailed them with video footage to stay quiet? His victims had no other choice, going to police wasn't an option as they feared of the footage being leaked, they had to seek another option to get rid of him.

Oh..also this piece of shit is a teacher, did Lily mention that? His victims were his students. Imagine being a teacher and instead of giving your students hope for future, give them a lifetime of trauma and fear of what happened to them being leaked anytime?

Lily had found every single video he had in his office and burnt them, of course. That is the most important requests the clients had. At least now they wouldn't have to worry about everyone in the whole world knowing the trauma they faced. Isn't it absolutely heartbreaking that we live in a world where victims have to worry about getting shamed instead of the criminal?

Lily watched as the man finally took his last breath. She got up after sighing. She had already put plastic on the floor of this abandoned building that she found and used as her new spot. But still the place had gotten pretty messy. Blood was everyone. On the floor, walls, on her. They would have quite a lot to clean today. She would also have to get rid of the body. Tonight is gonna be a long night.

Lily dropped her knife, it fell on the plastic on the floor and the she wiped her face. Stretching her arms a bit she walked towards the farthest corner of this building, overlooking other buildings. A small smile tugged on her face, as the closer she got to the corner the clearer his silhouette got. Her partner's. Her boyfriend's. Every time she thinks about the word 'boyfriend', she gets a weird feeling in her stomach. She feels like a teenager, high on adrenaline, hormones and feelings.

He was looking out, with his hands in the pockets of his black slacks. His black hair was dancing along the wind caressing his face. He was so concentrated on the outside world that he had failed to notice her approaching. This man in front of Lily was gorgeous. She isn't just saying that because he is her lover now. He is insanely gorgeous.

"Hey,"Lily said as she stood beside him.

Jungkook immediately got out of his trance and looked at her with a smile on his face,"Hey! You done?"

Lily nodded not failing to notice the sadness in his voice even though he tried to mask it with excitement to see her. He always looks like he is sad when she drags him to these missions. He tries to hide it but she always notices. That is why she never makes him see the actual murder, she makes him stand in a corner as far from the screams as possible saying that she gets distracted when he's around and can't enjoy fully. That is a lie that she has been saying from a long time ago. From their third mission together if she remembers correctly? His only job is to help her clean the blood off and then go with her when she disposes the body.

His sadness is also a reason why she is starting to dislike all of this. She is in such a dilemma about all of this because the sadness he holds in his face and voice for only the nights of the missions. She herself thinks it's pathetic that she is thinking about all this just because of seeing a demon sad for like four hours once every week. What is she turning into? Or rather what's she turned into?

"Yeah, pretty much,"Lily said.

Jungkook slowly lifted his hand and wiped the splatter of blood she missed on top of her nose. Every time he touches her, it leaves a lingering tingling feeling on her skin. She doesn't know what to make of it.

"Ah! I'm tired,"Lily said and turned away from him strategically to hide her blush from his eyes.

"Take a little rest then, we will do the rest later," Jungkook said.

Lily nodded and looked outside. Such a peaceful, silent night.

"Kook?"

"Hmm?"

"I don't understand you,"Lily said.

"Huh?"Jungkooo frowned a little and turned to Lily,"What do you not understand?"

"Everything. Listen. You're a devil, right?"

Jungkook nodded.

"You're my partner, right?"Lily asked.

Jungkook nodded once again.

"Me committing crimes is benefiting you, is it not?"

Jungkook understood where the conversation was going and sighed,"It is."

"The why? Why do you do this? Why do you discourage me to commit crimes? Why do you look so sad? It makes no sense. Just because Soobin showed you some goodness of humans? Just because of that you are overlooking so much shit that humans do? That too by being a devil?"Lily shook her head thinking, trying to process everything. Then she looked at Jungkook and narrowed her eyes,"Tell me honestly, you wanted to be an angel, didn't you? Is that one of your innate wishes that you always wanted but couldn't fulfill, Huh?"

Laughter filled the silence of the night as Jungkook bursted into laughter hearing Lily say this with a completely serious face. Lily frowned when she saw him laugh like that,"What?"

"You're adorable, Lily."

Lily's frown grew deeper when she heard that,"The fuck?"

"I've never in my life wanted to be angel. I don't even like them, hell, I don't even like the color white. I have never heard what you just said in my life, hence I find it a bit chuckle worthy."

"If you dislike angels so much, why are you acting like my guardian angel so much when you are my demon partner, Mr.Smartypants?"Lily frowned.

"Because I dislike angels, but I like you."

Good, another round of intense beating of the heart and cheek flushing was going to start for Lily. If only she could beg him to stop saying such stuff so casually. Lily looked away again.

Jungkook smiled. After a small pause he said,"You know what, you're right. Soobin definitely played a huge role in me changing my believes. At first I was confused, because all I had ever learnt was against this new belief. Then I met you, saw how horrendous people and their crimes can be. Seeing you murdering people made me second guess everything. I used to sit in the closet and think whether my believes were wrong, am I the only one that's stupid or not, were my hyungs right about humans all along? Also..how can someone murder someone so savagely, ruthlessly like it's absolutely nothing? How can someone be so horrendous, no offense,"He chuckled nervously.

"None taken."

"Those were my initial thoughts. But by the twist of fate we became partners and I finally got to know you slowly. When I observed you closely, I saw that you aren't just doing that because one day you woke up and decided to be a piece of absolute crap and murder people."

That made Lily smirk. Jungkook was glad that he could lighten up the mood a little bit,"I knew there was an underlying reason behind you being like this. And I was right. Your fa.."Jungkook paused, not wanting to talk about him out loud,"That's why I felt like you are not the cold psychopathic serial killer that only cares about blood that you lead on to be. You are a good person, Lily. I've told you that many times. That's why it pains me to see you do all this. Really. I find it extremely painful. The more murders you commit the further you stray from a chance of having a good afterlife. I don't want you to experience the wrath of my master."

Before Lily could say anything, Jungkook cut her off,"Yes, I know. I said I will protect you. That I will. But I still don't want you to suffer like that in hell, after the way you've suffered on earth. That's why I don't like it when you do all this."

"Jungkook-ah.."

Jungkook smiled sadly,"You don't need to worry about that, Lily. I will deal with my feelings. I will find a way out. I know telling you to stop doing this is me crossing my boundaries as your partner. If you ever stop this, I want you to stop because you want to not because of me forcing you. That is just gonna be useless. I promise I will find a way out of making you suffer in hell.."

"You don't need to.."

"Yeah, But I want to. I just can't let the girl I will be spending my eternity with suffer, now can I? What kind of partner will I be if I let that happen?"Jungkook chuckled after saying that and slowly caressed her cheek.

His soft gentle touch, words, actions and genuineness was enough to make her heart accelerate insanely. Lily knows he just said that he doesn't want to act as an angel, but to her he is more of a guardian angel than he is a devil. Who else would care so much for her? Who else would think so much for her wellbeing? Who else would give meaning behind her existence? Who else would make her worthy of living a good and normal life?

She slowly raised her hand up and put it on his hand that was on her cheek, holding his wrist still so his hand stays on her cheek. She slowly said,"You know my birthday is coming, right?"

Jungkook was slightly confused about the sudden change of topic,"Yes? In about a month?"

Lily smiled. Never in her life has she ever celebrated her birthday. But from this year she will. With her family. Especially this year. This year's birthday celebration would be amazing, extravagant, lavish and worth remembering for a long while.

"On this birthday, I will give you a surprise. You are gonna love it."

Jungkook frowned slightly,"Lily, this is not how birthdays work.."

Lily smirked,"I don't care. You better be prepared for this birthday gift. You will never be able to forget this present ever."

"I really can't tell whether you're being sarcastic or not. But I will wait for it, Lil,"Jungkook said and smiled.

Lily nodded. He leaned in closer and pecked her on her forehead, not removing his hand from her cheek. It was full of love and adoration for her.
That peck set her heart on fire. She instantly knew that what decision she took was correct. She was going to give him the right surprise.

Everyone is going to remember Lily's birthday. It will be embedded in everyone's memory.

Because this year, on that very day, Lily, the Lilith would retire from her profession forever, give up on trying to find her father, leave her past behind her and start a normal life. It's gonna be hard, but she's gonna make it work.

That's the least she can do for her partner, her guardian angel in disguise of a devil and her lover that she would spend an eternity with after all.
