Chapter 16

"Guys, I'm the demon among the three of us and seeing the two of you right now is scaring me."

Spoke a visibly shaken up Jungkook, sitting in Doyoung and Lily's hide out, listening to what they were talking about. The two in the question are sitting across each other, with a huge smirk on both of their faces talking about ruining someone as awfully as possible. Lily was twisted, there was no question about it. She talked about and did the most awful, gruesome thing as if it were about her most favorite pass time. But Doyoung?

What the heck is wrong with him? Doyoung never stroke to Jungkook as a person who would enjoy this kind of awfulness. Of course, his job was to put hit on people, but Lily was always the one who actually did the work. Jungkook had barely heard Doyoung talk about those ever. He didn't seem to like their profession, he was just there for money and Lily. But what the heck is this? Why does he seem so cruel, so vicious, so awfully delighted while plotting about someone's not so natural demise? Lily and Doyoung currently look like two evil twins plotting for revenge against their parents.

Jungkook sighed. He should've known that Doyoung had been with Lily for so damn long, it was a matter of time before her psychopathic tendencies rubbed off on him. And who were they talking about, Jungkook doesn't understand. Why do they seem to have so much hatred towards this guy, he also doesn't know. No one is filling him up on the tea. 'Tea' is the new term he learnt on the internet. Nowadays everyone seems to be obsessed with spilling tea, and everyone seems to be oddly interested in other people's tea. Astonishing, really.

Anyway, as far as he understands, this guy they are talking about isn't from a client. They have something very personal against him. Very. What is that, Jungkook doesn't know.

He's been hearing his name. Nam Ilhoon.

Jungkook was so unamused by their conversation, didn't understand any of it and tired of being ignored by both of them that he decided to look up this Ilhoon guy on his phone. Nam Ilhoon, a clean cut, prom and proper, kind looking man in his late fifties, the new commissioner general. What would these two have against this man? Jungkook felt bad knowing what was coming for this nice looking man.

After Jungkook being ignored for a couple more painful minutes, Lily and Doyoung finally finished talking about their plan. Doyoung would start their plan and Lily would be the one to end it. After planning, they both stood up and shook hands while looking at each other with wide smiles on their faces. That scene seemed like it was out of a horror movie, sending a shiver down Jungkook's spine.

After Lily and Jungkook finally got out from the hide out, it was already nine thirty pm. Jungkook was sulky from being ignored for more than an hour. And what was worse is that she still didn't notice it. Jungkook didn't like it. Why isn't she noticing and walking as if she doesn't care about whatever happened to him.

Well.. because she doesn't care.

A tiny voice said in Jungkook's head, making him more sulky. She probably doesn't actually care that's why she isn't noticing-

"Why're you so quiet?"Lily asked looking at him.

Jungkook rolled his eyes as the chance finally came to him to show his displeasure,"Well, the fuck am I supposed to do? When y'all didn't care about my existence there anyway? For a whole damn hour or probably more than that.."

Lily chuckled seeing him.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes,"What's so funny?"

"You look like a kid,"Lily said as she continued walking.

Jungkook was offended,"Wha.."

"And Listen, we didn't deliberately try to ignore you. I was so ecstatic, I didn't hear you. I'm sure Doyoung didn't as well. So yeah..no need to be so sad."

Jungkook huffed,"None's sad."

Lily smirked,"And ask whatever you wanted to ask now. Let's see if I can answer."

Jungkook looked at her,"What's you guys' beef with this commissioner guy? Why are you so ecstatic about this? And there isn't even a client putting a hit on him...did he do you wrong? But he looks like a good man.."

Jungkook noticed Lily suddenly getting quiet. Jungkook quickly picked up this slightly awkward atmosphere.

"Lily, are you okay? Is it about your past? Are you not comfortable with sharing it me? If so it's okay..I will wait for when you're ready to tell me."

Jungkook said. Even though he was dying to know about this whole thing, he knows he should give Lily time to open up about her past. That's only right. After all he promised her to wait.

Lily immediately looked up at him,"No it's not like that. I was just trying to figure out from where I shall start for you to fully understand the story. But I appreciate you for saying that."

Jungkook nodded and smiled.

"Ah! Where shall I start?"Lily asked and let out a loud sigh,"Shall we go and sit there?"Lily asked while pointing at a barely occupied bus station a few feet away from them.

"Well, if you want."

"Come,"Lily said and walked ahead, right at the bus station and sat on the bench leaving just enough space for Jungkook. She put her hands in the pockets of her hoodie and leaned her back against the bench. Jungkook came and sat beside her, their shoulders touching. Jungkook was very curious to hear about what she had to say.

Just who is this Ilhoon guy?

"So.."Lily started,"Do you remember the time I told you that I absolutely hate police?"

Jungkook nodded. It was way back when they had just became tied by the bond. Right after that Jungkook had to go and steal her DNA from the police station. He absolutely hated doing it. But so much shit happened from them. He was part of so much crazy shit, stealing police evidence seems the most normal thing he's ever done after being her partner now. Jungkook shook his head at that thought and turned his attention back to her.

"Well..this Ilhoon fucker is the sole reason for that,"Lily exhaled slowly.

"How?"Jungkook asked.

Lily rested her head against the bus stand's glass wall behind them and looked up,"When I was little, me, Doyoung and.."Lily stopped abruptly, after a deep breath started again,"Well, the two of us had similar conditions. Our house lives were fucked, nothing was right or normal, everything was absolute shit. We weren't allowed out. But once.."Lily sighed again, stopping.

"Lily, it's honestly okay. You don't have to tell me. Don't force yourself."

"No, it's really okay,"Lily nodded,"Well., Where was I? Oh..once we had a miraculous chance to get away from 'home'. We got out and ran to the nearest police station bare footed. We went there and quickly started spitting out all of our problems to the officer in charge, our distraught states were proof enough to show whatever we were saying were true. We were so hopeful that the police officer would solve our problems, take us out of that hellhole we were living in and everyone innocent in there. Our hearts were filled with anticipation, hope and dreams for the future. The officer looked at us, listened to our story. He consoled us. Promised everything was going to be better. Then he took us, drove to where we grew up to investigate and identify everything. There he met my father."

Lily let out a bone chilling chuckle,"Well, you already know about my father, no need to introduce him. He wasn't supposed to be home that day. But surprisingly he was and our blood ran cold. Anyways he, understood the situation as soon as he saw us with the officer, took the officer to another room to 'talk'."

Jungkook sighed, already being able to guess where this was going.

" I saw the whole thing. At first I thought father was going to kill the poor officer, because that's what he's good at. But surprisingly I saw my dad shoving a huge ass bundle of cash in his hands along with promises of more cash. I was standing there in shock as I saw the officer quietly putting the wad of cash in his pocket and getting the fuck out of there.."Lily sighed,"Leaving us. Our hopes were crashed. So were a lot of things."

Jungkook slowly put his hand on her arm, trying to comfort her.

"As you can probably tell, that police officer is that Ilhoon fucker, who decided that money was important than saving lives."

Jungkook felt an immense amount of anger inside of him. His rage being greater than anything he's ever felt before. He can't believe that someone could leave some poor helpless children for money. If it weren't for him, wouldn't Lily's life be so different now? She would've been happy. She would've had a normal, functional life. She wouldn't have turned into what she is today.

"But it's okay,"Lily said,"He's finally getting what he deserves. You don't know how long Doyoung and I have been waiting to take this fucker down."

Jungkook nodded,"I one hundred percent support you on this."

Lily chuckled,"I can't believe I'm hearing you say that."

"Neither can I,"Jungkook laughed,"So when are we gonna.."

"Firstly, Doyoung is gonna spread all of his corruption data, illegal business data and crime data everywhere and send it to the prosecutors' office. You don't know how hard it was to accumulate all the data over these years. That fucker is really cautious about cleaning up after committing crimes. But anyway..Doyoung is good. After his records of crimes being spread across the country, it will be his first death. He is obsessed with his public image and being loved by public. So yeah. And then when he is brought to court for his sentencing..is when is gonna be his second and actual death,"Lily smirked.

"For how many years did y'all plan this?"

"Oh you don't even want to know,"Lily said,"You know what? It was hard. Really hard to not kill him all these years. He was everywhere. On news, press conferences. But Doyoung really wanted him to suffer as much as possible. And he would suffer the most when his precious money, position and fame is taken away from him. That's just how he is."

Jungkook nodded.

"With that one more will be down and only one will be left. Only my amazing father would be left,"Lily said.

Jungkook frowned,"What do you mean one more would be done? Was there anyone other than your father and that Ilhoon guy?"

Lily nodded,"The owner of the property we grew up in. Yeah..long story short, he's dead. I drowned him years ago. Let's not talk about this crap anymore."

"Oh..oh Kay.."Jungkook was about to remove his hand away from her arm. But Lily suddenly looking at him stopped him from doing that.

"The atmosphere has gotten so dark, Jungkook. You look like you're about to combust."

"Well, cause I'm. How could that piece of garbage do that?"

Lily chuckled,"You were sad a few minutes ago, now you're angry. If you feel so many bad emotions on the same day, it ain't good. Do you want to do something to lighten up the mood?"

"What?"Jungkook raises his eyebrows.

Lily smirked. Right then the bus stopped in front of them lighting up Lily's face with the light inside the bus. Lily signed him to follow her with her head and got up on the bus.

Jungkook was confused. What kind of weird crap was she up to now? Should he be excited or scared? Probably both.

He had no other option so he quickly got up on the bus and sat beside her. She was sitting by the window seat.

"Where are we going?"Jungkook asked and the bus started.

Lily smirked staring out the window. The chilly wind started hitting her face and making her hair fly everywhere, but she didn't care. She ignored Jungkook's question and said,"Put on some music, Kook."

Jungkook sighed knowing she has no plan of answering his question. There will never be a point of pressing her for answers. So he gave up and got his newly bought earphones out. He had learned to download music in his phone so he downloaded some songs he liked. Lily would definitely make fun of his music taste but there's nothing he can do now. He put one piece of the earphone in his ear and another part in her and played his recent favorite song. That was embarrassingly a love song. What can he do? He likes the melody of love songs better.

He closed his eyes, ready for Lily to turn around and make his life a living closet.

"Its a nice song,"Lily commented.

Jungkook opened his eyes, stunned to hear that. She was still staring out of the bus, looking at the busy streets of Seoul, passing buildings, billboards. A smile unknowingly crept up on Jungkook's face. His insides felt weird. His stomach felt light.

Lily is right. He really is feeling a lot of emotions today.

Jungkook and Lily were standing in front of a secluded tunnel looking thing. Jungkook was confused looking at the anticlimactic result of him building his anticipation and Lily acting like it's the best thing ever. She had even made him stand here for a long while and went to buy some supplies and is currently holding the bag of supplies in her hand. Jungkook doesn't know what those are, why they are here and what's the plan but he has an ominous feeling about this.

"Lily, I swear if we are here to kill someone.."

"No, we are not.."

"I swear I was really excited, it better not be is stalking someone."

"Ah, you don't trust me, do you? It's nothing bad,"Lily said and smirked.

The 'bad' in Lily's dictionary isn't what 'bad' is in anyone else's dictionary. Who knows what she is up to.

"You can get your hopes up, tonight I'm gonna show you a whole new world,"Lily said.

Jungkook was skeptical,"Lily, are we here to do drugs? Cause count me the fuck out.."

"Aish,"Lily huffed at his mistrust at her. So she didn't bother explaining further and walked into the tunnel, even thought Jungkook was hella skeptical he followed her.

"Are you ready?"Lily asked Jungkook almost at the exit of the tunnel,"You're about to get mind blown."

"Yeah, I guess.."Just as he said that, they both stepped out of the dark tunnel. Jungkook looked at the place they were currently at.

His jaw dropped.

What is this place?

This whole area was filled with stores, walls, billboards. And everything was filled with beautiful, eccentric, colorful looking graffiti. The closed store shutters, the walls, everything. It seemed like they were in a different world, so uniquely beautiful. Who knew so many different drawings, from so many different artists would look so good together, so many different colors would fit so harmoniously together?

Woah.

Jungkook was in a trance as he walked around the place, looking at the writings, the drawings everywhere. Every artist had their own flair, their own style. Everything was so different but fit together weirdly. Really, humans are just unbelievable sometime. God blessed them with such amazing talents.

There were a few more people there. All of them were artists. They were freely putting their drawings on the walls, or anywhere they could really.

As Jungkook was watching them work Lily came and slowly stood beside him.

"I saw you watching street art videos on YouTube, I figured you would like being here.."Lily said in a low voice.

Jungkook looked at Lily,"Lily, I love it."

Lily nodded,"Good."

"I didn't know such place existed in Korea,"Jungkook said.

"Well, it didn't at first. Actually years ago, the store owners were done with people spray painting on their shutters so they hung huge billboards saying whoever spray paints here gets punished and fined. It said something along the lines of 'Don't ruin others properties if you don't want to get punished and fined'. Guess what? Seeing that many more people came here at night, got their spray paints out and started drawing. This is how this place turned like this."

Jungkook nodded,"That's one interesting story."

Lily smirked,"That's how humans are. When they are forbidden to something, they would want to do it more."

"But because of that we got such a beautiful place like this!"Jungkook said,"Is drawing here legal?"

"Of course not. But does it look like anyone cares? I bet store owners also don't care now...oh right. I brought these for you. Take them and unleash your inner artist,"Lily handed Jungkook the bag of supplies she bought earlier.

Jungkook curiously opened it and found three cans of spray paint. Red, black and blue.

"I wanted to buy more colors, but the store only had them. Maybe next time. Now go to town!"Lily said.

"Lily, I'm not good at it,"Jungkook said, slightly embarrassed.

"You don't need to be good at something you like for you to do it,"Lily said nonchalantly and picked up a can of spray paint,"Look at me!"

With that she found an empty spot in the wall and wrote Jungkook's name with small devil horns beside them. Seeing her have Jungkook confidence and he also picked up one can and did some silly drawings along with Lily. They both wrote such random, small, unnecessary things on the walls, side by side, while laughing, Jungkook was happy. Really. As he watched Lily writing something on the wall by his side he asked himself if what he was feeling was normal.

This night, the drawings, the wind, the paint in his hand, the girl beside him everything felt unreal. Everything felt otherworldly, magical. The feeling he was feeling, also couldn't be something that was created in this world. Ethereal.

"Why are you staring at me?"Lily asked, stopping her drawing.

"Lily..I..I think.."

Before he could finish, they saw flashlights coming there way and voices yelling,"Stop! This is police."

Well shit.

Some other artists immediately surrender, throwing their paint down while some fought back. Lily looked at Jungkook and asked very seriously,"Have you ever run away from the police?"

"What? No."

Lily smirked,"Well, tonight's the night!"

Before Jungkook could react Lily looked at him, out her hands in his, intertwining them and running on the other direction as fast as she could while chuckling. Jungkook's heart felt like it would leap out of god chest any moment now. Everything happened in slow mo. Like a movie. The police ran behind them, yelling at them to stop. But they didn't. They kept running until their legs gave out, still holding hands. Lily never let his hand go. He felt like the whole world didn't matter anymore. The police didn't matter, whatever happens in the future didn't matter. Nothing mattered but this. He felt intoxicated. The world was spinning.

Everything was so wrong, yet felt so right.

They finally stopped running after Lily pulled him in a very narrow alleyway and leaned against the wall, taking deep breaths. Jungkook rested his hand beside her head, also catching his breath. The police weren't after them anymore, they ran so fast after all.

"That was so stupid, we could've just teleported,"Jungkook said looking at her. She was right in front of his face. So close.

Lily smirked while catching her breath,"But what's the fun in that?"

Jungkook's lips twitched up in a big, wide smile seeing her.

This definitely is the best night of Jungkook's entire life.
