He was a mere eight month old when his partner in crime entered the world.
He was unaware of it himself, but their mothers knew all along.

Peeta Mellark, sat on the side of his mother. Looking around, confused and in a daze. He looked to his mother, recognising the giggle coming from her.

"Mah-moo." Peeta mumbled and looked away from his mother.

His mother giggles again. "We're meeting your best friend little Peet." she whispered, knocking on a door and opening it.

Peeta returned to looking around, his fingers curling as he held onto his mother. There was a blur of conversation that was not comprehend able.

after gazing at the movement outside the hospital room window for many years, his mother caught his attention and he looked to her.

"Over here buddy. Look." Peeta's mother whisperesed and his eyes dawdled, slowly focusing on the baby in the cot.

All wrapped in pink and asleep. A hand, coming from the bed, stroking her head as she slept. Peeta stared at the small baby.

"Him and Katniss are going to be great friends one day."

"Who knows, she may find husband material in him." the other old woman said and Peeta's mother kissed his head. It didn't distract him though.

In seconds, the girl's eyes opened slowly and Peeta was the first thing she focused on.

Their eyes were on each other for moments and in that time, they officially met one another.

Eighteen years later, the desire by both mothers was fulfilled.
