Jericho - SandWing OC

Second child submitted by darkmoon636. I loved reading about your last OC, so I'm looking forward to this one.

BASIC INFORMATION;;
------ Name: Jericho.
So, funny story. I'm working on a manuscript/novel/book/whatever you want to call it, and one of the characters is named Jericho. So when reading through this all I can think of is my human deuteragonist's father.

------ Age: 54.
Wooo, didn't expect that. That's pretty old. Nice.

------ Gender: Gender-fluid, usually "they/them", sometimes "she/her". Biologically female.
Genderfluid characters are so fun to write!

------ Sexuality: Bisexual, leans towards males.
Sweet.

------ Tribe: SandWing.
Favourite tribe ye boi.

------ Abilities: Normal SandWing stuff.
Cool.

------ Relationship Status: She has not found anyone worthy yet.
I just imagined her sitting on a throne with a scepter or something pointing at a row of suitors and booming, "UNWORTHY!" or something. It connotes quite a personality, which I like.

------ Occupation: Priest/cult leader.
Woah, that's pretty intense. I like the combination. Also, Jericho is a Biblical city - I like the religious/cultural atmosphere you've got here.

BACKSTORY;;
Jericho is tall for their tribe, standing at a few feet above most, with a very thin frame accentuated by the skeleton overlay they paint onto themselves with black tar everyday.
I have an OC with a painted skeleton too! Ironically, they're a cult member too. Theirs is white though, and it's tattooed.

Their wings are large, and rather bulky, with brown speckles densely packed around the edges.
I like the descriptors.

Their scales are bright gold on the back, pale yellow on their stomach, and are oddly triangular shaped.
Just bear in mind that most SandWings do have triangular/diamond-shaped scale plates. You may want to mention they're unusually so for a dragon of her tribe.

Her neck is long, and the scales on her neck are slightly raised to make interesting ridges.
Spiky nek.

She has long legs, but small feet and large claws, with a thin, whip-like tail. Her body is littered with scars from 30 years of battle training.
30? Woah, this girl works out.

PERSONALITY;;
Jericho is very proud in herself and her religion, and will ruthlessly pursue those she considers "heretics" and force them to convert or die.
Heretic! I love that word. What kind of religion is it?

She is normally cool, calm, and collected, but if you challenge her ideals or beliefs, especially in front of others, she snaps and who knows what we'll try to do to you.
Not really sure why you've slipped into first person. Typo, perhaps?

Jericho believes she is right, no matter what, and many have died because of this.
I like it. Strong, opinionated, resonates very well with her character.

She is brave in battle, bordering on insane audacity and foolhardiness, but her passion for her beliefs and a talent for rhetoric with a side of fire-cracker speeches has gained her many followers despite of this.
Okay so your writing style is absolutely amazing and I love it.

She is fiercely loyal to her people and would sacrifice her own life to protect them, even though she isn't afraid to kill individual dragons in righteous judgement.
Hmm, I didn't see that coming. I thought she'd be pretty self-centred. Of course, if by "her people" you mean her cult, that makes sense.

Jericho will never go against her morals or set beliefs, no matter what it would cost her, so the best way to defeat her is to trap her in her own rules.
So many people make it out as if their OC is invincible or can't be defeated. I like that you've stated her weakness openly; a bit of hamartia can never hurt.

BACKSTORY;;
Jericho, then Jackal, as a young dragon was always neglected by their family, although not mistreated. When no one kept them company when they needed it, they begun to look to the stars for answers.
Nice start! I'm very glad you clarified the line between neglect and mistreatment.

In their time alone with their thoughts, young Jackal began to invent new friends and family for themselves, then gods and beliefs, and as they invented these gods at a young age Jackal soon forgot they ever invented them in the first place.
This is slightly terrifying, and very interesting to read. Although it would require a lot of characterisation and character development, I can envision that gradual delusion pretty clearly.

After finalizing her religion and writing out "the Sacred Book of Stats", Jackal changed their name to Jericho and set out on a holy war to conquer Pyrrhia in the name of her gods.
Stats as in statistics? Photostats? Thermostat? ... I'm assuming neither of the latter.
Why did she change her name? Was it for anonymity's sake, or just Dramatic Effect™? Either is okay.
Also, why is she conquering Pyrrhia? Did her gods command it, or does she just want to enforce her opinion? You need to elaborate; there's a big difference between hostile gods with a loyal servant and a hostile dragon praising the gods.

She originally visited the RainWings and converted many of the simple-minded dragons among them to her religion.
A very smart move on her part, though I can't imagine they'd be good for much other than adding some body mass to her cult.

With her new priests, she visited each of the tribes and took willing followers, then retreated to an oasis in the desert to train and increase her army.
I'm just questioning how this worked, though. As far as I'm aware, RainWings are pretty unintelligent, and generally not respected by the other tribes. It would be pretty difficult to muster an army with RainWing priests - not without a lot of hard work. I'd maybe consider incorporating someone else: perhaps MudWings, for instance, since they're a bit more respected than RainWings. Or maybe she influenced some popular figure, like a member of a royal family or a war commander.

It has been thirty years since her quest began, and Jericho's army is almost ready, almost tripled the original size due to interbreeding between the soldiers and new recruits.
How is it still hidden? Surely a giant army slowly breeding and swelling would be discovered? Even if they're secluded in the desert, there's plenty of nomadic wanderers out there.
Actually, better question: are they still hidden, or does Pyrrhia know about them?

Pyrrhia must beware.
I like the ending. Very sinister!

------ Theme Song: "Hell to Your Doorstep" from the Count of Monte Cristo Musical.
Very appropriate. I'm pretty sure I've heard this song somewhere before.

------ Myer Briggs Personality Type: ENTJ (Commander).
I love Myer Briggs! I'm an INFP myself.

COMMENTS;;
------ The good...
I'm honestly breathless. Jericho is fantastic! She's a very consistent character, and the ideas in here are pretty fresh. I'd love to see where you take her in the future.

------ The bad...
There are some pieces in her backstory that could do with a bit of explaining. As I mentioned earlier, there's the issue with having RainWings as priests, and the lack of explanation for her goal. Why does she want to take over Pyrrhia?

------ How you can improve!
Most of this centres around Jericho's cult as opposed to Jericho herself. I think the most significant thing you need to do would be to explain the religion itself, since it clearly motivates her so immensely: who are the gods? How do they communicate with her? Are they the ones commanding her to take over Pyrrhia, or is that her own self-incited act? As I've said: hostile gods or a hostile dragon?
You may also want to consider political correctness and whatnot. Religion has always been a fiddly matter, and I'm pretty sure someone out there will find this offensive in some way. As long as you remember that not all religions are delusions (at least, to their believers; it's all subjective) and not all believers are strongly-opinionated oppressors, and maybe make a note of it somewhere (just a PSA or something at the front), you'll be fine. Definitely don't change her for that, though - she's an amazing character. Just try handle any offended people... well, gently. I personally don't think she's that bad, but there may be other people who will.

OVERALL RATING;; 8/10.
I am honestly dying to give her a 10/10, but the lack of explaining stopped me. Astounding work, though, overall!

I'm getting there, children. I promise.
