Looks:

     Miyako is a petite girl with brunette hair that curls at the bottom. Her body shape is most noticeably an hourglass, but, she tends not to show it off. Her eyes are perhaps one of the best feature about her. They are large doe-brown eyes that are easy to get lost in. Despite her frail form however she seems to be pretty resilient, not matter how many times she is pushed down, she'll get back up. She is often seen wearing a school uniform and large over-sized sweaters. 

Clothing:

School Attire: Everything except for the hat and bag. She carries a bag similar but larger and it slings over her shoulder. This is what she wears the most.

Traditional Attire: Used for festivals or anything at all relating to her culture. Handed down to her from her mother. 

Fancy Attire: Also a hand-me-down from her mother. It looks good on her, but the style is outdated and she is made fun of for it. She almost never dresses up, only for school functions that are mandatory, ie, club functions. 

Personality:   Miyako is a shy girl, make no doubt about, she likes to keep to herself and she has a hard time speaking in front of others. However, she has a heart of gold, which is why oftentimes trouble is attracted to her. She tends to be nervous, but can be brave and quite resilient, putting up with the abuse from her brother or peers. She is courageous in her own quiet way, unfortunately, that is often mistaken for cowardice. 

Likes: Miyako loves the library, it's her favorite place to spend time especially because she also loves reading. She also loves warm cozy places and hugs. Human intimacy is something she craves, but doesn't get often. 

Dislikes: Miyako doesn't particularly  for glaring lights, smoke, and alcohol. She can be noise-sensitive too, and easily overwhelmed in crowded places.

Job/Occupation: She's a student though one day she hopes to be journalistic writer or news reporter, since she wants to spread good news and kindness to people. She believes they need something heartwarming to talk about every now and then. 

Strengths: Miyako's kindness is her biggest strength and her biggest weakness. Because she is willing to help people she is often taken advantage of, but at the same time she doesn't mind as long as she helped that person.

Flaws: Her shyness is kind of a set-back. She's afraid of meeting new people and she tends to stutter a lot in her speech if she gets anxious. However she has ambition so she won't stop until she achieves her goals, shy or not.

Nationality: She's Japanese and can read, write and speak the language fluently.

Relationships:

Platonic: Miyako always had a very close relationship with her mother and father before they died. She respected them and loved them very much. Her relationship with her brother on the other hand isn't that good, it's abusive and one-sided (Not to mention the 15 year age gap). Miyako however still loves her brother and doesn't want to see him in trouble no matter how much he's doing wrong.

Romantic: The closest Miyako ever got to, in a romantic relationship was with her childhood friend Louis, but since he was a foreign exchange student, he moved away back to America when he was ten and she never saw him after that. On top of that Miyako has never really had a boyfriend and she has never had a kiss or anything like that, so she will be inexperienced in an actual relationship.

Backstory:

Miyako was a mistake. She was never supposed to be born. However, her parents agreed that they would take care of her and love her. Her brother who was 15 around the time grew angry about the lack of attention and ended up leaving the home once he turned 18. 

Once she turned 10, she and her parents got involved in a car crash. Sadly her parents died and since her brother was her only other relative she was sent to live with him. Now during the time Miyako was growing up, Kyo had fallen into drinking, drugs and smoking. He had become addicted and unfortunately, his anger at his young sister had only grown worse. Sadly Miyako started to get abused by her older brother and still puts up with it to this day.

Of course, Miyako won't tell anyone about it for a few reasons. Number one is that she doesn't want her brother to be locked away since he's her caretaker, and she wouldn't have anywhere else to go. Number two is that she doesn't want him to get in trouble, especially since she loves him very much. And number three is that she is simply too scared to speak up.

Other: Seafood is her favorite thing to eat, and she's very proud of her culture/heritage.

As you walked up into the school, you saw a short girl with a nametag being teased by some typical mean girls.

You were the only friend that Miyako had and you two were very close. Miyako sometimes had bruises or injuries but since she bruised easily you often thought that it was just her being clumsy.

One day you walked into school and looked for her. Upon finding her you were in shock. Half of her face was swollen and bruised. You reached out and held her cheek "are you okay..?!" you asked worriedly.
