The government was running a program where they took brains of dead people and put them into artificial bodies. The subject, Hiro, escaped and is considered a threat.

What people don't know, is that Hiro was homeless and didn't have many friends. So he was killed and used for the experiment. They even went so far as to give him fake memories so he didn't remember who really killed him.

He forgot to take his pills one day and remembered everything.
