~ Third Person P.O.V ~

"Hello?" Izuku greeted, confused on who was calling him- seeing as though it was a number that was not registered in his contact list. "May I ask who is calling?"

"Hi! Is this Izuku Midoriya?" A somewhat chipper voice rang through, a slight puff of an exhale forming straight after they spoke.

Pinching his brows together, Izuku slowly nods- only to scold himself for doing so, seeing as though whoever it was wouldn't be able to see it. "Uhm, yeah this is he. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but may I ask who is calling?" He repeated.

(I legit nod a lot when I'm on the phone, so I like to have the characters do it too. . . don't mind me)

"Oh, my apologies sir, my name is Laine- I work for the Tokyo General Hospital. Anywho, your mother is here, Inko Midoriya, she's conscious now and asked for us to call her son and ask if he could come down here." Laine said quickly, already giving the boy instructions and such on where Inko was located.

Albeit, he was having a difficult time comprehending her words at the moment- as soon as he heard his mother's name. So many questions seemed to be flooding his mind yet no words would come to escape. He suddenly felt claustrophobic despite the house's open concept, as he wrapped an arm around his waist.

"I- uhm, is she okay? My mother, is she okay?" Izuku managed to sputter out after a few moments- prompting Eri and Hitoshi's eyes to widen in slight understanding.

Laine heaved a long sigh, wetting her lips as she balled her hands into fists before answering the boy's question. "If I am being truthful sir, I'm really not sure." She whispered, "Try and get here soon, and just in case you forgot- she's in the E.R wing."

"Ye- yes, of course. . . thank you so much." The freckled boy stammered, instantly ending the call.

Closing his eyes, Izuku inhales deeply as he desperately tries to calm his spiking nerves. One hand clamping over the other in attempts to put a halt to his shaking.

"Uhm, Shinso?" He breathed out, his eyes never opening.

"Oh, yeah- everything okay Midoriya?" Hitoshi asked, actually showing concern for the boy.  Which, of course, he doesn't do for most people- besides Eri- much often.

Clearing his now, dry throat, Izuku's eyes flutter open revealing desultory and drained green orbs- a complete three sixty from his usual piping enthusiasm. "A uh, family issue came up. . . your father is in a meeting right now so I won't be able to reach him. But I have to go." He croaked, gnawing the inside of his cheek.

"Okay, of course- I'll see you tomorrow?" Hitoshi said, although it sounded more like a question.

Izuku managed to pull on a small smile as he began gathering his things together, shaking his head slowly.

"It's Sunday tomorrow, my only off day away from you. . . Look, I really need this job- it pays well, so if your could please do whatever it is your father asked of you so I don't get in trouble for leaving you by yourself that'd be nice." Izuku sighed, giving the purple haired male a tired look.

Eri finally spoke up, sensing the shift in Izuku's mood as she tried to lighten it with her. . . intriguing qualities. "Don't worry dude, I'll keep an eye on the trouble maker here- I will make sure daddy doesn't find out you left early." She beamed.

And for a fraction of a second she actually managed to bring a full on grin onto Izuku's lips.

"Thanks kid, I owe you one." The green haired college student said, giving her a mock salute.

"I take my payments in chocolate and in stickers," Eri smirked, fake examining her nails while Izuku shot her an amused look. "Please?" She added, using Izuku's pouting techniques against him.

Pursing his lips, Izuku sighs, nodding his head with a somewhat proud look. "Your pout is getting better. . . I'll see what I can do about those stickers and chocolate."

"Am I missing something here? What do you mean 'pout'?" Hitoshi asked, looking adorably confused as his eyes whipped back and for the between the two.

"As much as I would love to stay and entertain that," Izuku exaggerated, motioning to Hitoshi with his index finger, "Like I said, I have a family emergency."

Slinging his tattered backpack over his shoulder, Izuku quickly walks out of the house- nearly tripping on Midnight who tried to follow him. Once he was out the door and a little ways away from the porch he pulled out his phone hurriedly, going over to his contacts to call Bakugo.

"Kacchan?" Izuku frantically said, his joking tone and such from earlier dispersing completely. "Are you with Todo. . . ? Something happened to my mom."

Todoroki, Bakugo, and Izuku quickly made their way through the halls of the E.R wing- all of them sporting stoic, yet worried expression as they searched for Inko's room.

The receptionist, Laine, tried her best to calm down the three boys as she gave them directions to Inko's room. Well- mainly trying to calm Bakugo down, who looked like he was ready to blow the place up if he didn't get any answers.

But in the end, they ended up getting the directions- as well as the fastest route to Inko's room.

Once they found it the three walked in, finding a tired looking Inko sitting up in a hospital bed- covers pulled over he lap as she stared off into space. And if you looked closely, a small IV was hooked up to her bloodstream.

"Mom what the hell happened?" Izuku asked, making his way over to one side of the bed. "Are you okay?"

"Did the doctors come in yet and tell you what's wrong with you and stuff?"

"Do you need anything Auntie, are you thirsty, cold?"

A fond smile found its way onto Inko's cracked lips as she gave the three a look only a mother could. Placing one hand on both Bakugo's and Todoroki's and the other on Izuku's. "Boys, I'm fine. . . really. You three worry about me too much, I was feeling nauseous because of my medicine and I ended up passing out in a store." She explained soothingly.

Izuku released a somewhat relieved sigh, as he tiredly rubs his face giving his mother a loopy grin. "Me and you are going to have a stern talking to later missy." He joked, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

"I forget who's the parent in this relationship sometimes." Inko jested back, giving him a soft smile. Her eyes land on Bakugo, who looked a bit conflicted at the moment. "You know Izu, I'm a bit thirsty can you and Shoto go get me some water please?" She asked, her eyes flickering over to Todoroki.

"Yeah."

Once the two boy's were gone, Inko shifts in the bed- so her torso was angled towards Bakugo. "What's wrong honey?" Inko asked softly, gently rubbing her thumb over the back of his hand.

"You scared the crap out of us today Auntie. . . out of me." Bakugo croaked, angrily wiping away at a few stray tears that betrayed him. "I can't lose you too."

Sympathy washed over the woman's features as she wraps her arms around the blond. Rubbing his back as he released short, choked sobs. "I know Katsuki, I love you so much- okay? You may not be my blood son. . . but you're still mine." She cooed, hugging onto him tighter.

"Promise you won't leave us Auntie. . . not like my mom did." Bakugo sobbed, burying his head into the crook of her neck.

"Promise,"

Hello Cricket Cultists!!

Sooo, I promise this is a ShinDeku. Lol, I know it may not seem like it now- but there will be ShinDeku moments in the upcoming chapters.

Anywho, I really wanted this story to be different from all my others. I wanted it to have. . . more depth to it, ya know? Like, not just focusing on the two main characters who are supposed to be together- but also go in the lives of all the other characters and their problems.

Until we meet again!!!
