I stand atop the highest mountain. from here I can see all that is this planet Earth.

My Earth.

My ward.

I have been here since the beginning of time and it has been my sole purpose, to protect those of Earth from other civilizations, among the universes.

I have done that part, but I have still failed.

The greatest danger to Earth was never from beyond the stars.

It was from those that live upon this magnificent planet.

They are their own worst enemies.

Now their fate is beyond my control.

I no longer have the power to protect them as the very planet itself, has decided that the time has come to cleanse itself.

Above me the dark clouds are now forming.

From below the ground, in the very stomach of the Earth, fiery death prepares to erupt.

The oceans begin to swell.

And mother nature is unleashing all that she has against the people themselves.

I must leave.

I cannot watch as my precious planet is returned to its very basic existence.

Back to the beginning.

To start again.

To start anew.

With another protector.
