Episode 14: Crab Kisses

AN: Sorry if there are any errors, I actually had to rewrite this whole chapter because my dumbass deleted everything the first time I wrote it and hoooo was I not happy.

"You think we're doing the right thing?" I asked while taking a bite of the warm bread in my hand, watching as both Nat and my dad were ushered to the sauna area while Haz and I lingered around the buffet table, getting our food.

"No cause I'm bat shit crazy about you and have been for so fucking long then you go and just pull this whole parent trap shit on me and switch lanes."

I choked on the bread lodged in my throat, almost dropping the plate of food in my hands in the process before
I snapped my head to look up at Haz in disbelief, blinking at him wondering if I was just hearing things as he locked eyes with me, a calm expression on his face.

"What did you just..." I trailed off, swallowing as my grip tightened noticeably on the plate that I was holding.

Haz just inhaled slowly, closing his eyes briefly before opening them and looking at me with a grimaced smile.

"I said yes, yes I think we're doing the right thing -ohhhh look cocktail shrimps." He casually commented, dismissing the conversation and walking over to the seafood section of the buffet before I could so much as put a word in as I stood there absolutely gobsmacked with a burning face.

I glanced over to where Haz now was, his back facing me, even the muscles under his white shirt were straining with just the slightest movements as he carelessly grabbed a cold shrimp from the tray in front of him, popping it into his mouth, chewing it making his sharp jawline more defined while he surveyed the other food.

"Oh jeez," I mumbled to myself, my glasses already fogging up just by staring at him, practically having me drooling over something other than the food here as I quickly put my plate down to clean my glasses before he could see how pathetic I was.

"The food is for guests only." The small manager of the resort suddenly popped up besides me, clearing his throat with a polite smile and pointing at my pile of food stacked high on my plate as I put my glasses back on, blinking at him while my vision cleared.

"But I am a guest-"

"Oh sorry, let me rephrase." He said with a light hearted laugh.

"Guests who are couples and can pay for this. Besides, childish kids genuinely turn off the young honeymooners here." Liko deadpanned, dropping his commercial friendly grin in an instant as he pursed his lips.

"Technically we're already adults and you know what, just because Haz and I are young doesn't mean we're childish okay, we are two of the most mature people here-"

A crab suddenly rose ever so slowly to mine and Liko's height, as if the dead shell of the crustacian was joining in on the conversation while I looked down at Haz who was crouched at my feet by my side, holding the crab up that he probably took from the seafood table as I inhaled slowly.

"Hey toots, you want some crab kisses pretty lady," Haz said in a nasally cartoonish voice, shaking the crab near my face as if it was talking as he held it closer to me while I leaned away with a straight expression.

"Come on, just one crab kiss, I give you lots of crab kissies muah," Haz continued, letting the crab kiss me as I exhanged looks with Liko who sucked his lips inward in a 'told you so' manner.

"I'll be watching you two." He said sternly, gesturing to his eyes with two of his stubby fingers before pointing at Haz who rose back to his regular height at my side along with me before walking away from us in a haughty manner.

"I'll be watching you two." Haz and I
mimicked his voice in unison before we both looked at one another, making him smirk as I smiled and awkwardly looked away, feeling a heat in my cheeks under his lingering gaze.

"Thanks for the crab kisses." I finally muttered under my breath, not looking at him as I quickly kissed the crab in his hand in a playful manner before grabbing my food and scurrying off to one of the tables.

I decided to look back, immediatly regretting it when I saw that entranced dazed smile on Haz's charming face as he stared at me.

Maybe it wasn't bringing are parents together that would be the problem, but keeping the two of us apart.

I looked away, scrunching my face and releasing a strangled muffled sound from the back of my throat with wide terrified eyes.

It hurtssssssssss.....

I took a seat at one of the tables, watching Haz struggle to balance the mountain of food from the buffet he had piled on his plate as he made his way over, only to bump into someone in the process causing his lunch to fall straight to the floor.

"Fuck me...." Haz trailed off, looking down at the mess at his feet as the girl he bumped into whipped around in surprise.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry- Wow you are good looking." The pretty stranger with long black hair that reached her waist paused, staring up at Haz with wide amazed hazel eyes as she caught herself.

"No biggie." Haz shrugged in response, sending her a friendly smile as the island girl grinned.

"My name's Maluhia, you can call me Malu though for short." She introduced as she kneeled down alongside Haz who was trying to sweep the food back onto his plate and clean the ground before she began to help as I observed the two from my table, slowly munching on my pineapple slice.

"Sweet, I'm Haz." He said with a nod, his body immediatly tensing when Liko fast walked his way over to the two with his tiny little legs.

"That was a newly conditioned carpet!" He shrieked in horror as Malu and Haz quickly stood to their feet in alarm.

"Dad please, it was an accident." Malu cautioned with a raise of her tan hands as Haz and I's eyes widened.

"Dad!?" Haz exclaimed along with me, making all three of their heads turn to me at the sound of my outburst towards the back of the room at my table making me quickly turn my head and look away, casually sipping my glass of water while pretending to be engrossed with the tropical scenery outside.

"I see you've met my father, I apologize." Malu quickly said when they weren't looking at me anymore, a sheepish smile on her petite face as Liko rolled his eyes while Haz looked between the two, his mouth slack open yet no words coming out as he blinked at them.

"Dad, don't you think Haz here would be perfect for the photoshoot?" Malu suddenly asked with an excited smile, changing the subject as Haz furrowed his brows in confusion.

"Don't be silly Mal, sure he's a handsome young guy but trust me, he's as immature as your mother-"

"No dad. You've been looking for a guy like him for your ad for so long. Oh Haz you just have to be in my father's commercial and advertisement for his hotel, you're perfect for the role." Malu practically squealed, turning to Haz as he eyed the two in confusion while Liko began to contemplate his daughter's words.

"Well, see, I did think about it when I first saw you but the big ball of frizz tagging along with you was really killing the vibe." Liko began, all three of them turning their heads to look at me as my eyes widened.

"Big ball of frizz here." I greeted them with a wave.

"Is that um- is that your girlfriend?" Malu whispered at Haz, giving me a judgemental once over with her eyes as an idea struck me.

"Well no.... not yet-"

"Nope! We're just friends." I rushed over to Haz, cutting him off as he slowly narrowed his green eyes at me.

This was the perfect opportunity, I'd not only get my parents together but also Haz could find someone else and move on and nothing would be complicated anymore.

"Oh, well good, Haz did you know I'll be in the advertisement too? We could be spending all day together taking pictures by professionals." Malu smiled, turning her attention back to Haz as she batted her long thick lashes at him, placing her hand over his toned arm.

"Cool but Talie and I were kinda gonna-"

I elbowed his side.

Haz stopped, giving me a look before continuing.

"Talie and I were gonna-"

I elbowed him again.

"Talie and-"

My elbow jabbed his side one more time.

"Dude I'm this close to fucking you up." Haz glared at me, reaching out and playfully slapping my face multiple times with both hands until he was practically drumming his large palms against my cheeks as I leaned away with a laugh, trying to block him before shoving him away.

"Alright, my daughter has a point. Haz if you can be in my ad room service is free."

Haz scoffed.

"I don't really know...." He trailed off in an innocent tone, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Okay room service is free and you get free unlimited passes to the waterslides." Liko narrowed his eyes at him, making me purse my lips at his second offer knowing Haz had a fear of drowning so there was no way that would tempt him.

When Haz didn't budge after a few moments Malu desperately looked at her irritated father to do something.

"Alright, I see how it is. Your parents are Natalie Kaufman and Harry Styles correct? You want them to be together is that it?" He smiled, getting right down to business as I became intrigued.

"Yeah.." I said, leaning forward with wide eyes as Haz glanced down at me.

"Free room service, free passes, and I'll have the staff and I do whatever we can to get your parents together that by the end of this trip, those two will practically be married singing kumbaya hand in hand before you can say Aloha oe." Liko finally offered with a tone of confidence, a sudden finality in his narrow beady eyes as my breathing quickened in excitement at his proposition.

Haz glanced over to me where I was smiling in anticipation by his side before letting out a sigh, awkwardly scratching his head before turning to Liko.

"Alright sure, I'll be in the ad." He shrugged, blowing out a small breath while rubbing his neck as Liko and Malu smiled, clapping their hands in sync.

"Haz we're gonna have so much fun today! Come with us we can show you around!" Malu cheered, immediatly grabbing ahold of Haz's arm, yanking him to her to follow Loki only for Haz to turn his head and grab my arm, bringing me along making me yelp slightly in surprise.

"You got me into this, you're comin' with." Haz whispered into my ear as I sent him a grateful smile, mouthing a small 'thank you' to him whilepushing up and readjusting my glasses as Malu looked back to give me a lingering stare.

"Haz, over here at the front." She thenp said, smiling sweetly at him as she dragged him away to a bunch of photographers with some professional looking equipment layed out, large lights in front of the hotel near the tall palm trees and tropical fountain as I slowed my pace, admiring Haz as the team of employees rushed to him, giving him new clothes as they spoke rapidly.

"He's perfect! His face, his body, where'd you find him?" One of the main photographers grinned as they observed Haz in clear approval.

In all honesty I felt kind of bad, I knew
he was only doing this for my sake and our parents, but we did just get back from our flight and I bet he was tired but I mean, he got to take pictures with lots of pretty island girls so it couldn't be that bad.

Either way I devoted my day to following Haz and the photo crew around, handing him water bottles if he was ever thirsty or joking around with him to relax him until I was pretty much shooed away for "distracting" him too much and making him laugh during the photo shoots.

At one point Haz was taking pictures and videos at the beach while I stayed in the back with a worried expression.

"Just please make sure he doesn't get too close to the ocean is all I'm asking. He has this fear of water and drowning
and he doesn't know how to swim and-" I began, quickly following behind one of the directors of the photoshoot and commercial as he ignored me.

"Right, no water. Got it kid thanks." The man dismissed, not even looking at me as I frowned while he walked away.

Only Nat, my dad, and I knew about Haz's drowning phobia and occasional nightmares but this camera crew had to be informed about it so he wouldn't be in any potential danger.

I turned my head towards Haz to check up on him, only to feel my heart drop to my stomach at the sight before me.

Haz's face was pulled down to Malu's, their lips meeting in a sweet kiss, posing in front of the beautifully breathtaking beach as the photographers went crazy, snapping picture after picture while yelling "Perfect! Absolutely perfect!"

As for me, I couldn't look away.

I don't understand it, this is what I wanted, for Haz to move on and I knew the kiss was only for show but yet I still felt so... so....

I couldn't even put into words how it felt but I know one of the emotions was sad.

I was doing the right thing, I was going to make my parents happy and have Haz move on and find someone else who could cherish him.

So why was it that I was standing here at the beach looking at Haz and Malu kissing one another feeling that this was all wrong.

"I- I have to go pee." I suddenly stuttered out to no one in particular since none of the photography crew seemed to really care about what I was doing as I stumbled away, my feet slipping across the sand as I looked over at Haz and Malu one more time in a distracted daze before quickly running off back to the hotel.

I wasn't even running that fast yet I was sweating a lot, my heart was racing and I couldn't even focus my vision on anyone or anything, like the image of Haz's lips touch Malu's was forever burned in my mind.

Gross.

I shuddered, feeling a chill even through the warm muggy air of Hawaii before I entered the lobby, trying to catch my breath.

I attempted to tie my wild brown hair up, only to let it fall again once I realized I forgot my hairband.

Haz would've had one.

The thought made me shake my head.

No time to be selfish, I came here with a plan and I was going to go through with it.

Deciding I needed to recollect myself I headed over to the lobby bathroom to look at their cute little seashell shaped soaps that seemed to relax me just by intensely staring at them, reaching out to open the door only to immediatly collide into someone who was exiting at the same time.

"Nat?" I questioned once I saw her as all the complimentary tampons and pads in her arms fell to the floor at our impact, making her shoulders slump under her white hotel robe as she stared down at the mess at our feet.

"Fuck me..." Nat trailed off, reminding me of Haz earlier today when he spilled his food making me smile ever so slightly at the thought of him.

"Oh what's up Talie." She greeted once she saw me in front of her, snapping her gaze to me, smiling and nodding at me before she quickly crouched down, gathering the fallen feminine care rapidly before she rose back to her feet, cradling them to her chest as if they were precious jewels.

"Dude look at all this -like I'm not even on my period or anything right now but they're giving all this stuff free in a basket in all the female bathrooms! They got me hooked. Up." She informed in awe, her whole face lighting up as she showed me the unopened tampons and pads as I laughed at her excitement.

"What are you even doing here? Aren't you supposed to be getting ready to go in the sauna with my dad?" I asked her with a smile as she began to stuff the feminine care into her robe.

"Yeah but then I had to take a piss and then I saw the free stuff and I pretty much raided the woman's bathroom upstairs too. After I bring these to my room I'm gonna head over to the sauna and join your dad- hey, you know if you and Haz want to just chill today as a whole family your dad and I can just skip on this sauna thing." Nat explained, now looking like she had oversized boobs thanks to all the pads that were stuffed down the front of her robe as she readjusted it.

"No we're fine, you guys go relax. Besides, Haz is currently... occupied at the beach at the moment." I reassured her, reaching out and placing my hand over her arm, inwardly cringing when the image of Haz and Malu's lips touching on the shore flashed in my head, only this time Haz deepening the kiss into a heated make out session in my mind as my throat felt tight at the thought.

"Talie, you okay?" Nat asked with a concern expression, gauging my reaction and placing her hand over my shoulder as I took in short quick breaths, situating my own hands over my hips and sending her a shaky smile.

"I'm fi-ne." I said, my tone coming out super high pitched and my voice cracking before I coughed into my fist, attempting to clear my throat.

"I'm fine." I repeated in a deeper voice, hoping she'd be convinced.

She wasn't.

"Alright, spill it. What's goin' on huh?" Nat asked with a knowing look, cutting to the chase as I inhaled slowly when she shifted her weight on one fuzzy slippered foot, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'm... I'm really peachy..." I trailed off with a shrug, giving her a smile as she pursed her lips in thought.

"Okay, you don't wanna tell me it's all good. I respect your privacy." She simply said after a few moments of me not saying anything else, a passive look on her face while she put her hands up in surrender making me release a small sigh of relief.

"Thank you Nat-"

I never got to even finish my sentence before Nat quickly grabbed my wrist, spinning me and pushing me face down to the floor until she laid her body down on top of me, trapping me between her and the ground.

"Nat!" I complained in annoyance as she sat on top of my back, raising my hand from the floor and craning my neck to glare at her.

"Tell me." She teased, peering down and poking at my cheek with a smirk as I scowled at her.

"This is child abuse." I claimed under my breath, using Haz's favorite phrase against his mom as Nat scoffed.

"You hang out with my son way too much." She laughed above me before letting out a sigh of content, grabbing a magazine from the coffee table near us without getting off me as vacationers sent us lingering stares in the lobby.

"Now spill." She insisted as I let out a huff.

"I don't- I'm not-"

"My ass is only gonna get heavier." She continued, playfully bouncing on me like a child as I sighed, always amazed at how silly Haz's mom could get and wondering how she was even an adult when she never even looked or acted like it.

"I want you and my dad to be happy."

There, I said it.

Nat immediatly stopped jumping on me, her whole body freezing before she lowered her head down to look at me, her face somewhat upside down since she was on top of me as our eyes met.

"What?" She blinked, now suddenly serious as I swallowed nervously under her gaze.

"Well...." I trailed of, scrunching my shoulders up to hide my face from her.

Nat stood up, getting off my body before she quickly grabbed my hand in hers and pulled me all the way to the back of the lobby in the far corner empty seating lounge as she sat me down before taking the chair in front of me.

"You are trying to set your dad and I up so that way we can be happy and don't- wait let me guess, you're also trying to make Haz happy at the same time juggling all three of our future happiness at once and totally disregarding yours in the process." She spoke out in a rush, staring at me with her wide brown eyes as I blinked at her in shock.

"I'm slightly scared now..." I admitted in disbelief, totally in awe at how she knew everything by a T as I leaned back slowly with a bewildered expression.

"Look, although I'm extremely proud that you've grown up to be a kind selfless young woman, I've been in your situation before. Multiple multiple times and you know what, I understand. You put yourself in this place where you want whoever it is to be happy and you put them before you but Talie, that's not your job or responsibility." Nat began, her words coming out quick as if what she was telling me was absolutely urgent.

"Don't think that it's your job to keep everyone happy, especially when your dad and I already are." She reasoned, resting her hand over mine on my lap as I tilted my head and looked at her.

"You guys are happy?" I asked, still unconvinced as she nodded in response.

"Of course we are, sure we just got out of our marriages but they weren't specifically good marriages. We're both healthy and so are our kids, and now all four of us are lucky enough to be on vacation in Hawaii and just relax. Why wouldn't we be happy?" Nat informed with an assuring smile, shrugging her shoulders as I thought about her words.

"I don't know I just... You and my dad are always the happiest when you're together-"

"But we are together Talie, we're all together here on this island and I resent your statment. We're actually the happiest everytime you and Haz are with us." She teased, leaning forward and tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear in a loving manner making me smile as I averted my gaze to her hand over mine in my lap.

"Right now we're just trying to focus on you and Haz. A lot has happened in the past month, there doesn't need to be anymore sudden changes for you guys." Nat sympathized as I brought my eyes back to her, listening to the sincerity and compassion in her gentle tone as I slowly nodded in understanding.

"So... you two are happy as just friends?" I asked her with a raise of my brow.

"Of course baby. I want you to relax on this vacation Talie, you deserve it. Both you, Haz, and your dad do." She added, tilting her head to the side and softly smiling at me as I took in a deep breath.

"Okay," I began, nodding and relaxing in my chair as I rose to my feet.

"I'll- I'll try to relax." I said, watching a grin of approval spread across Nat's glowing light brown face before she sent me a wink.

"And one more thing babe, I know there's something on your mind. Don't let anyone stop you from being happy, including yourself. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't lose your happiness in the search for others." Nat advised in a calm tone, casually leaning back in her seat as she studied my expression while I paused and looked back at her.

Don't lose your happiness in the search for others.

"That last line, I like it... Where'd you hear that?" I asked, smiling as I let the words echo in my head, only feuling my newfound determination and hope.

"A fortune cookie from Panda Express actually." Nat paused, looking up at the ceiling in thought before letting out a small laugh.

"But that aside, sometimes it's okay to put yourself before others. Doesn't make you selfish," She continued, locking eyes with me.

"Just makes you human." She finished with a small knowing smile as I sent her a grateful look, hesitating for a moment only to push my doubts aside when I went back over to Nat and hugged her tight in appreciation.

I felt her arms immediatly wrap around me, giving my body a loving squeeze and stroking my hair before I pulled back and smiled at her.

"I love you Nat." I confessed, watching as her brown eyes widened considerably at my statement, my face flushing hoping I wasn't pushing any boundaries or making her uncomfortable as we broke apart, her still gawking up at me in her chair while I stood to my feet.

"I- I love you too Talie." She responded in a shocked tone, continuing to blink at me in disbelief before a slow dazed smile spread across her face.

"I should let you go and relax in your sauna now..." I let out a sheepish laugh, slowly backing away fiddling with my fingers as Nat straightened in her chair.

"You sure you're okay? You know your dad and I can just skip it and all four of us can chill out today." She offered again in an uncertain tone only for me to shake my head, quickly declining it.

"It's fine. I have to go tell someone something very important right now." I let her know, thinking of one particular green eyed boy in mind as Nat slowly nodded her head in understanding, sending me one last lingering observing stare before I turned on my heel and left.

I bolted out of the lobby, zipping passed fellow vacationers and large groups of families as I made a run for the beach, only to find that both the photographers and Haz were nowhere to be found on the beautiful shore side.

I searched the landscape, whipping my head around searching for them, shielding my eyes from the sun until I realized they must have left.

My heart was pounding rapidly in my chest, the anxiety and anticipation eating me up as I fast walked back to the hotel, pausing when I heard a sudden commotion going on at the pool near the large palm trees at the side.

There was a swarm of the photographers I was looking for crowding the ladder of the highest diving board I've ever seen at the far end of the deep side of the pool, all of their heads tilting up looking above making me follow their gazes only for my jaw to drop when I spotted Haz clutching onto the diving board like his life depended on it.

Which seeing as the fact he had a fear of drowning and didn't know how to swim, could be true.

"What are you doing!? Come down from there and dive into the pool! We need a few shots of that!" The main directer who had ignored me before at the beach yelled through a white bullhorn in his hand as Haz scowled down at the crowd below him.

"Why don't you come up here and suck my dick first old man?" Haz retaliated, not bothering to lower his voice as most of the crew gasped before I shoved the people out of my way in irritation, making my way to the middle of the crowd near the ladder of the diving board.

"Haz what are you doing up there?" I scolded, bringing my hand over my squinted eyes from the blaring sun as Haz's green eyes widened slightly at the sound of my voice before he peered dow, still clutching to the diving board before a slow smile spread across his face the moment his gaze landed on me.

"You know just... just chillin..." He casually shrugged, resting his cheek against the board, squishing his face a bit he looked down at me with a small boyish grin.

"You know you can't swim!" I yelled at him in frustration, the frantic beating of my heart never stopping as the idiot director besides me gasped.

"He can't swim?" The man exclaimed in surprise, making me suck my lips inward as I balled my hands into tight little fists at my sides, slowly turning my head to look at his bewildered expression before I yanked the megaphone out of his grasp.

"No he can't swim which is what I told you in the first place you dumbass! Now butt out before I shove this megaphone so far up your ass that everytime you open your mouth all that comes out are awkward high pitched volumed bullhorn sounds!" I yelled at him with the megaphone to my mouth, only making my voice that much louder as he stepped back in shock at my outburst, the whole crowd actually simultaneously taking one step back away from me with fear in their eyes.

"Talie breathe," Haz called out to me from above.

"And you shut up too! Why would you put yourself in danger like this!" I screamed up at him in anger, still holding the megaphone before he answered, although I was so feuled with adrenaline and terror for his life I didn't quite catch what he had said.

"You want to be my papi?" I repeated in confusion, furrowing my brows up at him as Haz opened his mouth, only to close it and pause before a slow smirk made its way to his face before he propped his elbow on the board, still laying on it before resting his sharp jawline in the palm of his hand.

"Well I mean... if the offer's open.." He trailed off, sending me a flirtacious nod as I gave him a blank stare in return.

"He said he wanted to make you happy." A new voice spoke up this time, making me turn my head over to Malu who emerged from the crowd of people surrounding me as she looked up in concern.

"He was a bit nervous and hesitant to go up there, but when my dad told him he'd break off the deal he made with him if he didn't go up there and dive Haz was determined to do it." Malu explained in a soft tone, making me stare up at Haz in wonder as he peeked his head from the board and pointed at Malu while looking over at me.

"Yeah what she said." He claimed, still clutching to the diving board, his knuckles almost turning white at how tight his grip was before I blinked up at him, our gazes locking as I took in a deep breath and handed the megaphone in my hand over to Malu before walking over to the ladder.

I was going to get Haz down from there, even if that meant climbing up there myself despite my fear of heights.

I mean throughout the whole flight to Hawaii on the airplane Haz held my hand the entire time, letting my squeeze it and clutch onto it in fear and even though his fingers were practically numb by the time we landed, he just laughed it off and teased me.

If Haz could overcome his fear for me, so could I I thought as I grabbed the ladder with sweaty clammy hands, taking in deep shallow breaths before I slowly but steadily began climbing up, my arms and legs shaking from the nerves as I forced my gaze above me.

"Don't look down, don't look down, don't look down." I chanted to myself out loud under my breath, swallowing nervously when I neared the very top, shivering at the island breeze tickling the bare skin of my legs as my breathing quickened.

"Haz- we gotta, we gotta get you down..." I choked out, my face probably red as a tomato as I tried to hold in the panic attack that was already building up inside of me as I latched onto the diving board, making Haz bring his head up to look at me in surprise as I carefully crawled towards him.

"Talie? What the hell you doin' up here you're scared of heights." Was the first thing Haz said to me, immediatly sitting himself up to help me forward as I quickly clutched onto his bare broad shoulders in fear, keeping my wide eyes on his face while I attempted to slow my breathing.

"S-scared of water -y-you are I'll- I'll help you-" I stammered out, actually catching a view of the horizon behind Haz only making me realize just how high up we were as my shoulders heaved up and down.

"Look, I just took a glance at the water and got a little shakened up is all and I felt paralyzed but it's fine, you can't be up here Talie." Haz insisted, looking at me in concern as I quickly shook my head.

"Who's the original gangster?" I finally asked, my voice steady once again as he blinked at me in confusion, not knowing where they came from.

"What did she just say?"

"Did she just call him a ganster?"

"What the fuck..."

I ignored the murmurs from the crowd below, my sole focus on Haz as he stared back at me with furrowed brows.

"Who's the one who's always walkin' around with a military dog tags around his neck claiming he's the real gangster, the one who can sing every Backstreet Boys song but still be a straight up thug." I continued in determination before a look of recognition flickered in Haz's eyes.

"Me..." He trailed off in disbelief, smiling at me as I nodded with a proud grin.

"Who's the one who gave their pet duck a gold money chain for Christmas?"

"Me!" Haz exclaimed louder this time, now looking hyped and full of adrenaline as he gripped my shoulders.

"Is a little puddle of water gonna scare a pimp like you!?" I asked him, raising my voice as he bounced slightly in excitement, causing the diving board we were sitting on to wobble ever so slightly under his weight.

"Hell no!"

"Who's gonna make water his bitch!?"

"I am!"

"Who!?"

"Me! I am!" Haz shot up to his feet, raising his arms in victory as I reeled back in surprise, gawking at him with wide eyes when he turned around and faced the pool below us.

"I'm gonna make you my bitch!" He yelled, pointing down at the water and before I could even reach out to stop him he jumped, diving straight down into the pool as I heard a collection of gasps chorus through the air.

"Wait no that's not what I meant!" I yelled after him, peering down in pure shock.

Jeez my original plan was just to make him feel confident enough to climb down the ladder, not actually dive into the pool!

It was as if everything was in slow motion, all eyes on Haz as he gracefully fell down like an olympic diver, sleek and agile as if he knew exactly what he was doing.

Reality was though, he didn't.

At the last minute Haz finally opened his eyes, now realizing what he just did as he let out a high pitched scream, flailing his long arms and legs before belly flopping straight into the water, a loud slap echoing throughout the entire pool while everyone cringed, letting out small "ooohhhh's" as we watched Haz's limp body slowly sink into the water in an almost cartoonic manner.

He then surfaced, scrambling around in the water in a panic.

"I did not think this through!" He yelled, choking and gurgling in the pool water and without any hesitation I quickly took my glasses off, placing them down on the board before diving down to the pool beneath me to save my best friend.

Just would have been a lot better if I didn't crash into his face on the way down while he was splashing and flailing around.

I emerged from the water, gasping for air before I felt Haz immediatly wrap his legs around my waist and his arms around my neck, hugging me like a cold wet shivering puppy underneath the water as he buried his face in the crook of my neck, breathing heavily.

I swam over to the side of the pool with him latched on to my back, not letting go even as I flopped out of the pool, landing onto the dry land on my stomach with Haz's body still sprawled on top of mine, his toned arms glued around my neck holding me tight while we both panted for air.

"I'm never doing that again..." Haz groaned into my neck, his warm breath and lips fanning over my skin as I nodded in agreement.

The director of the photo shoot had sent someone to fetch my glasses from the diving board as someone handed me back my eyewear before Haz and I were handed a large dry towel that we shared.

The crew decided to call it a day, realizing that was enough excitement for one shoot as Haz and I were sent back into the lobby to go to our hotel rooms to get rest, the both of our bodies close together sharing the one large towel that was slung over both of our shoulders.

"You know Talie," Haz began with a sigh once we entered the lobby, a wide dimpled smile on his face that hadn't left ever since I saved him still on display as he peered down at me, water droplets from his dark wet curls dripping onto my own hair.

"You make it really hard not to fall for you." He simply said, looking away and shaking his head as he let out a low whistle making me laugh at his words while I looked up at him.

"Well, I guess you win on that one since I've already fallen for you." I shrugged, my tone nonchalant as Haz paused at my statement, stopping in his tracks making me seize my steps as he looked down at me.

"Don't play with my feelings Talie. That's not nice." He said with a smirk, reaching out and playfully pinching my cheek as I rolled my eyes and swatted his hand away with a smile.

"I'm serious." I told him, our gazes locking and our smiles falling ever so slightly at the serious expressions on both of our faces, my cheeks probably flushing under Haz's scorching gaze before he opened his mouth.

"Talie I-"

"Watch out white Adam and black Eve comin' through!" A familiar voice yelled, making both Haz and I freeze when a random naked couple holding some type of potted plant in between them to shield themselves ran passed us in a nude blur, the two darting towards the nearest elevator with their butt cheeks out and jiggling.

"Was that..." I trailed off once they were gone, still looking over to where the strange couple had been before, readjusting my glasses in suspicion as Haz and I shared a look, furrowing our brows together in thought.

"Nahhhh...." We both said in unison, dismissing the subject before Haz slung his arm over my shoulder, pulling me closer to him and wrapping the towel more around my body when he saw that I was shivering as we made our way over to the other elevator.
