#9 Love
She breathed in the scent of his perfume as the lucent rays of the sun fell on them. Feeling her eyes drop close, she smiled, the moment slowing down around her. The tears drying down her cheeks.
His strong arms were wrapped around her body and he was content. The worry he felt a few minutes ago subsided and now he experienced only happiness.
They heard the busy life of the subway continue to swirl various humans from one important destination to another but they stayed rooted in each other's arms.
Love, what a great thing, they both started to believe.
Feeling someone's heart beat against your cheek and thanking God it's you that can hear it, is love.
People often get so caught up in the book definition of love that once it crosses them, they refuse to recognise it.
Love isn't what they all seem to believe it to be. Love is a feeling, not an examination you need to pass to get ahead in life. It is to be felt, not bought.
Love can't be with a one who you think you choose, love chooses its believers. You can embrace it at an early age of twelve or when you are old and crippled at forty.
The young couple of eighteen to twenty years old, just found love. And standing in that same subway which smells of rotten rats they embraced it.
When you lose something then only do you know it's actually importance, they say.
When one loses their pencil, they worry about getting a new one.
And here, for a minute he had thought he had lost her and the emotions flowing through him when he saw the familiar face across the train were unbelievable.
He had rushed to her and she had done the same. Their time together was spent as friends but this little incident had showed them so much more.
She knew not what to say to the boy she loved so dearly as yet.
"Elaina. Where were you?" He asked her, letting her separate from him ever so slightly. His desperation to know if she was okay was inexplicable.
"I got lost and my battery died. I had to stay at Aunt Sue's and she lives in mediaeval times without any connection to the outside world. I took the first train here. I'm so glad I found you." She looked up at him, hoping to see a loving warmth and she wasn't disappointed.
"Oh, I'm just so glad you're back." He couldn't stop himself has he pulled her close again, hugging her with purpose.
"I love you, Elaina." He had whispered in her ear.
Her heart broke as she knew it wasn't the love she harboured but she drew him closer.
"I love you too, Daniel." She hoped to not leak out any of her deeper emotions into her words and it worked as his heart heavied. He spoke the words breaking the unspoken rule of friendship.
"I love you in a different way. As Darcy did Elizabeth, as a tree does it's vines, as a-" She didn't need to hear more, she knew now what her friend for sixteen years wanted to convey. And at reaching brave understanding she stepped forward and kissed him.
Surprise broke through his senses as he felt soft lips pressing against his. And it was perfect, absolutely beautiful. He couldn't have ever dreamt of a declaration of love so pure, so innocent.
Both their eyes were closed, but they saw the world.
Love, what a funny emotion.

Long time no story. To be honest, so much love went in that.
Love,
