"that was so much fun." jimin had said it about ten times already and they didn't even make it to the side door of the warehouse. he was still holding his side beside him, a lot of the glitter had fallen off by now and few spots hung on dearly to the cheap glue used to stick it to the poster, namjoon stood beside him and just chuckled. now the adrenaline had left his system and he was started to feel the soreness and pain in certain muscles.
hoseok was beside his friend, hands in his pocket as they waited for more people to clear out before they tried to squish through that mess of bodies. then taehyung stood there too, behind the others and frowning down at the first beneath his shoes. he wanted to be happy, he wanted to be bouncing with energy still and nearly getting on his brothers nerves for cheering him on even after the matches tonight ended several minutes ago. he really wanted all that right now.
"are you walking home?" he needed to stop doing that. jungkook couldn't just walk up unannounced and start talking and scare the boy each time.
taehyung would have jumped, because he was so in his own head it didn't even occur to him to actually respond to the mild fright. he looked up from the spot in the ground he kept making an deeper dent with the front of his shoe. "no." he said. namjoon was taking them.
"okay good." jungkook swallowed hard. "i can give you a ride." he offered.
"no, thanks though." taehyung said, looking back down to the mud and making the hole a little more prominent with a few more scrapes of his shoe.
the mans jaw seemed to clenched, that little muscle jumping at the action as if it would burst through the skin and just keep going up up up. jungkook looked over at the group of people he was with, seeing them smile together. "are you all going together." he asked. taehyung looked up again and just nodded.
"i'll see you tomorrow then." it was the last thing he said before deciding to walk off, disappearing in the crowd of other people and not even giving taehyung the chance to glare as mean as he could muster. this is not how things work. he can't just be mean and then come over after and talk like nothing happened and then not even ask if taehyung was okay when he clearly wasn't.
hoseok came up to him and nudged him gently, "come on we're going." he said. the older saw how his friend was still angrily pouting, and even though the boy was upset hoseok still chuckled a little. "he'll come around. you guys are fine." he put his arm around taehyung and pulled him away towards the door where their other people were going.
taehyung still frowned, but he reluctantly followed and tried to ignore the gross feeling in his chest and tummy. "just because he has tattoos doesn't make him exempt from talking about feelings." the boy was still pouting.
hoseok just chuckled, "that's a good point. but he's crazy for you, no one can ignore you for long." the older said, his arm still around his shoulders as they went out to the car.
taehyung knew his friend was right, there wasn't a possibility that jungkook suddenly could deny everything they're talked about and the feelings they had — but he was still feeling poorly, that sick feeling in the pit of his stomach and the longing in his chest. he wanted to turn around and run to him, hug the heck out of him and then kiss him at least a hundred times. yet, taehyung was still bothered. this was no way to handle things. so he kept walking to the car and he focused on putting a smile on for his brother.
that mood didn't seem to want to leave the young boy though, not after a nights sleep and not after a good breakfast from his mom, and not even after taehyung put on a hoodie he stole from a certain someone's closet. it was way too big for him but smelled lovely and fit so comfy over his small frame. taehyung sat outside in the driveway that next day, a big hoodie on and snug jeans covering his legs. jimin was beside him, both sitting in silence and just watching the clock change on the olders phone. "look," jimin said, "now it's 4:03. just like i predicted."
taehyung looked sideways again at the lock screen of his friends phone. "wow." he's been saying that one syllable since 3:55 pm.
"i figured i should stare at my phone too." jimin continued to talk, seeing how his friend was now just barely listening. "since that's what you're doing." he was now watching the younger, elbows resting on his knees and his chin resting in his hands. taehyungs phone was on the driveway between his legs, looking up at him and continuing to not light up. "wow." he said again.
the other male just blinked, and then sighed and picked up his own phone. "i'm going to help your mom with dinner." jimin said, standing and seeing his friend look up with a small frown, "im sorry." taehyung said.
"no don't be," jimin said, a small smile on his face, "i know you're bothered and i think you should be alone with your thoughts for a moment." he said. "but i'll be inside if you need me, okay?"
taehyung didn't get the chance to answer, because the sound of a car pulling up and breaking hard right in front of the kim house interrupted their discussion. it most likely would leave marks on the road, and some rich family would complain to the city about reckless teenagers needing to be stopped and more officials enforcing the policies. normally taehyung didn't care, he didn't have the time to worry what another families parents thought of or what color the houses should be to stay in pattern with the others or if there were enough street lamps at night.
he didn't care about much really anymore. it used to be school, and the studying and the tests — but now it was only him. taehyung cared so much about him, and all those feelings hit him like a truck as he watched the handsome ravenette step out of his car.
"dude stand up." jimin whispered harshly, kicking his friends butt lightly to get the boy to stop staring with his mouth open.
taehyung blinked and realized he was actually seeing the male right there, pulling up in front of his house. "shit right." the younger scrambled to get up and pick up his phone, adjusting the big hoodie on his shoulders.
jungkook had sunglasses on, but he could still see the young male wearing his hoodie and looking so small and precious. "come on." he said, getting back in the car and hitting the lock button to open the passenger side door for the boy that was coming down the driveway.
taehyung climbed in the car and closed the door, feeling bad once again for leaving his friend, but also missing the tattooed male too much to reject him. there was still that little seed of annoyance sitting in his belly, the feeling that told taehyung to ask jungkook about what happened last night, why was he so bothered with him. maybe that's why he didn't greet the older with a kiss, or something cute to say — jungkook definitely noticed how he just sat and looked out the window, but he remained silent as well.
neither spoke, not while jungkook started the car again and sped off quicker than the rich married moms would have approved of. his eyes should have stayed on the road, but jungkook took a few chances to glance sideways at his boy sitting there in his clothes, and he wondered if it would ever be possibly to never stop driving — to continue on as if they could catch the horizon one day, two hearts in one home.
