the sun was out and beating down on the three boys who sat on the curb outside the fast food restaurant, a bag sat on the middle boys thighs as they all shared the meal. jimin didn't pay this time, and neither did hoseok, since it was their best friends treat for ditching them at school today.

taehyung didn't really have to tell them what happened last night, they were smart enough to take a hint when he left his front door with a turtle neck and hoodie on despite the weather. his mother was too sweet letting him express his fashion sense to question it. "come on let me see." jimin tried to tug down the fabric to see how much the tattooed boy attacked his friends neck.

"stop you perv." taehyung smacked his friends hands away, but the shorter boy just giggled and did as he was told. hoseok handed jimin some fries to busy his hands. "what time does the first match start?" the eldest of the three asked.

taehyung checked his phone real quick at the text he got, "6:00." he said, then shoved the device back into his pocket. the three of them were eating and then heading back to jimins to change before going to the event.

"so since you guys boned." jimin started as they got up off the curb and decided it was time to start walking to his house. "are you guys official boyfriends?"

the thought never really occurred to him, and now that his friend brought it up taehyung had to really think and then realized that they never talked about it. "i don't know." he admitted, "i think we are, we act like it. maybe he doesn't think he needs to ask." taehyung shrugged, he didn't really care because he knew that he wasn't going to mess with anyone else and jungkook definitely didn't seem like the type to do that either.

"i'm not saying he has to write you a note asking for you to circle yes or no." jimin said, cheese on his lips. hoseok handed him a napkin with a smile. "but talking about it would be nice."

taehyung was quiet, thinking about what his friend was saying. "he has a point." hoseok said, "i'd like to know what he was thinking." he added, but he was watching the shorter male in the middle wipe his lips just to dig in for more and make the same cheese mess again.

they walked in relative silence after that, mostly finishing up the greasy meal before getting into the home and seeing ms. park preparing them after school snacks like usual. she smiled when they walked through the front door, fresh lemonade made as usual and questions asked about their day at school. no one brought up the fact that taehyung missed most of it, just polite smiles and basic answers of lots of homework and tiring lectures.

"mom, we have to get ready to go to the fight-" jimin got smacked in the arm by one of his best friends, the love sick one. "competition." he corrected himself, glaring at taehyung and rubbing his upper arm at the stinging spot.

ms. park wasn't too fond of her son and friends going to a bunch of fighting matches when they could be home instead during the weekend. she couldn't say no though, not when she had no authority over two of the boys and her own had already been talking excitably about it all week. there's no way she'd be the reason to see that light die in his pretty eyes. "make sure you eat up." was all she said, motioning towards their plates as she continued to clean up in the kitchen.

the boys shoved their mouths full before running up the stairs and changing into their outfits. hoseok and taehyung would leave their school things here, coming back for a sleepover anyways and leaving the next day for the second round of matches. no one got dressed up, just simple jeans and shirts with coats on top in case it got cold.

on the way down ms. park was standing ready with a smile but worried eyes, sending the boys out into the night on their own. "here you go." she handed each of them what looked like a goodie bag, except instead of candy and beaded bracelets it had pepper spray and whistles. the three boys each took a bag and smiled, waving before finally leaving out the front door.

hoseok took out his whistle and put it around his neck, jimin rose an eyebrow, "you don't have to wear it you know." he said to the older. hoseok just shrugged and played with the shiny metal object. "i like it. it matches my rings."

"you look good." taehyung smiled at his friend, before pulling out his phone and finding the text message where he had the warehouse address.

they decided not to walk, especially since the warehouse ended up being farther than they expected and closer to the edge of the city where it was more industrial. the boys were able to fish out enough coins from their pockets to pay the bus fee, and hold on to their coats tighter as it got colder.

the sun had set, leaving the city lights and traffic to illuminate the streets and sidewalks. as they got closer, jimin leaned closer to the window until his nose nearly touched it. "that must be it." he said, nodding over to the flow of people entering a large building that had lights and distant noise streaming out of it. taehyung felt his stomach twist, he hasn't talked to jungkook much today and the anticipation of seeing him was finally coming around.

"come on." the youngest barely waited as he got up from the seat and practically lept off the bus before it came to a full drop. he wore a fancy lanyard around his neck, one jungkook made so taehyung could get through with authority and practically do as he pleased without getting caught up in the rowdy crowd. "follow me." he said, taking both his friends hands and walking past the line of people waiting to get in. the people waiting seemed like the type to like fights, kind of angry looking and holding beers.

the three high school boys didn't seem to fit in, only the badge around taehyungs neck showing they were in the right place. he led them to the side where a door was propped and a guy sitting on a chair beside it. "name," he asked, a boot in front of them so they couldn't walk in. he had a clipboard and an attitude.

"kim taehyung." he said.

the guy didn't need to look past the first name on the list, moving his leg and letting them through. technically it was the door for staff and competitors, but taehyung was special. "where's namjoon." jimin asked, sounding casual but the eager look in his eyes as he scanned the crowd of people behind the north bleachers. this area was blocked off, left for those competing and getting ready for the first round of the night.

taehyung didn't hear the question because he was too busy looking for a certain person himself. he felt the mans hand on his waist before he heard his voice in his ear, a deep satoori accent sending chills down his spine. "you made it." jungkook said, soon both hands going around the boy to hold him against his chest and bury his face in his neck, leaving little kisses to the fan skin.

taehyung smiled, leaning back against him and giggling at the ticklish feeling his lips left behind. "of course i did, i said i was coming." he said.

"you could have changed your mind." jungkook said, standing straighter and only loosening his grip so the younger could turn and face him. taehyung looked up at him and placed his hand on the mans cheek, "i'm never changing my mind." he said, and then leaned up to press their lips together and feel him accept the kiss, already pushing his tongue into the boys mouth.

the two friends stood and watched for a second, not sure where to go since their badge guy was busy. hoseok finally cleared his throat and waved a little, "um hi." he said.

jungkook grunted and pulled away, a sightly annoyed expression on his face. taehyung noticed and a little giggle slipped past, so he kissed his lips once more and then pulled away. "you should get going. you have a competition to run." the younger said.

he grunted again, "we should just leave." jungkook said, still keeping an arm around his boys waist as they walked. jimin and hoseok followed behind like puppy shadows. "we can do that after," taehyung said, "now you have something to look forward to."

the older grinned at that, and his arm tightened around the boy, but before he could say anything someone called his name. it was a man that had a jacket with the word staff in big yellow letters on the back, a clipboard was in one hand and an earpiece handing from the other. "the jumbotron won't project the start time. we need it up before the introduction of the first match." he said.

jungkook just sighed, but he nodded to the guy. "duty calls." taehyung said, with a smile on his face as he looked up at the older. jungkook sighed again and kissed taehyung once more, "i'll see you after, stay in the staff area." he said.

taehyung nodded and watched the tattooed man walk over to the sound board. there were so many cables and machines meant for speakers and lights. it was all a lot more professional than he had expected, and the bleachers were packed with people even standing on the sides to watch the ring.

"come on, let's go get good seats." jimin said. he was holding on hoseoks hand, ready to pull him along to the bleachers. taehyung was about to follow but then he hesitated, remembering what he was told. "i'm suppose to stay here."

"we can't see anything here." jimin said, "how are we going to cheer for your brother." he frowned a little and took out the folded poster board from inside his coat. it was folded so many times to fit in the pocket that creases ran across the whole thing, but the words could still be read in large purple bubble letters with stickers decorating all the empty space.

taehyung chewed on his bottom lip, but he looked at the sign and the glitter and everything that showed the time put into it. it would be a shame for his brother not to see it. plus they would be sitting surrounded by other people. "okay let's go quick." he said, following his friends out of the blocked off staff area and around to the metal bleachers.

some brochures littered the floor, taehyungs pretty sketches now stamped with muddy footprints or spilled beer. he picked up a good one, blew some dirt off it, and followed his friends to an open spot near the top of the west bleachers.
