kim taehyung believed he was a good student, rarely missing class and never turning a homework assignment in late. some might have been half complete or consisted of only guesses, but he always made sure to turn them in before the due date. however, today may have been the first time he truly did his worst on a history exam and paid no mind to the fact of what it would do to his grade.
all the boy could do was anxiously tap his foot against the ground and watch the clock, biting on the end of his pen until jimin smacked it away and he just took out another from his backpack. taehyung was nervous for tonight, he didn't like his big brother going against his ex boyfriend. only because his ex boyfriend was a psycho angry jock that apparently liked hurting people taehyung cared about.
namjoon knew nothing about what's been going. all he told his family was that seojoon decided to break up with him and he's been doing okay and focusing on his friendships. if taehyung told his brother about what happened that night in the alley or the weird threats seojoon has been making, he knows namjoon wouldn't let him go out anymore. not until this was all worked out and he was okay.
"dude i'm getting contact stress please stop." jimin looked over at his friend, "and i'm running out of room on my desk." he said, referring to the stack of pens he had to take from the youngers jaws.
taehyung dropped his own pen to the desk, "i'm sorry, i just." he rubbed his hand on his face and then leaned his chin on his palm. "i'm nervous."
they were sitting in their last period class today, some art elective class that taught them about theater and stage craft. both of them just came from taking their history test so mentally they were checked out already.
"i'm nervous too." jimin said, "but namjoon has been working hard and he's like so much bigger than that dude." he was doing his best to calm him friend, but maybe he was also trying to convince himself that tonight would turn out okay and they'd all get burgers after again and just end the night laughing.
it's always easier to watch fights when it's not people you care about. taehyung nodded, "i do hope he wins. last night he was telling me what he'd do with the prize money, use it to help open up his own little store in one of those buildings for sale." he said, a little smile showing as he thought back to his brother coming into his room last night and sitting on the edge of his bed to tell him an idea he had.
jimin grinned at the thought too, "hell yeah. and we'd get discounts." he said, always thinking of the important details. the younger just chuckled at his friend, and his leg was no longer bouncing like crazy. "i was helping jungkook organize stuff for the competition," taehyung started to say, "that's a lot of money he'd win." he remembered having a part in the donations and collecting the pledges in a single total to be written on the check.
he knew his brother would love it, using it for something he's worked hard for. of course their parents had money, but namjoon had always wanted to work for his own things. it was one of the main things taehyung looked up to when it came to his big brother.
before the two boys knew it, the end of the day announcements came on and everyone started to clean up their things, shoving books and notes into backpacks to be sorted later on. taehyung did the same, dumping his pens to the bottom of the bag and not in their usual organized fashion. those minutes of announcements seemed to drag on, talking about events coming up this weeks and wishing luck to those with exams and studying.
taehyung could only think of one thing on his mind, running as fast as he could straight to the fitness center. he knew his brother was there already, and he was hoping to talk to jungkook about something. "let's go." he said right when the bell rang, grabbing his friends hand as they moved quick to be some of the first to leave the classroom.
they only made it to the end of the hall in quick steps before taehyung felt someone else grabbing onto his shoulder again and falling into step with him. he smelled like too much cologne and mint gum passing that smug smirk. seojoon gave his shoulders a squeeze. "you excited for tonight? i missed you at the semi-finals." he said, "it would have been great to see your face again after i won my match."
jimin just listened and made a face, he was never happy with that guy, not from his badly styled hair to always wearing that dumb jock jacket as if it really meant anything. "i'm sure you were fine with the cheers you got anyways." taehyung said. they were walking through the courtyard, and all he stared at was those front gates just screaming his name.
"will you be there tonight?" seojoon asked, his hold on the boy not wavering, not until he finally stopped walking and pulled the younger with him. he stopped him outside the science building, holding him close and no longer looking smug, just angry. "it will be a shame to miss me putting an end to your brothers victory streak."
taehyung glared up at him, but he couldn't stop the slight fear blooming in his chest. "if you hurt him-"
"it's fucking fight taehyung," seojoon laughed, and he still had his hands on the smaller ones shoulders, completing ignoring his friend who stood to the side just watching. "someone is going to get hurt." he added at the end. "but maybe your brother might not be hurt too bad." with those words he stepped closer, still holding onto taehyung who was frozen.
the boy looked up though, a somewhat thoughtful expression on his face. "what do you mean by that?" he asked.
seojoons lips turned up into a slight smile, odd from the usual snarky look he went for. "i'd be willing to go easy if you give me something in return." he said, bringing his hand up to trail an index finger along the younger jawline. "like the old times, you were so good baby."
it may have been bad that taehyung almost considered it, he was only thinking of namjoon right now, and not wanting to see his brother being beaten bloody by someone who clearly had reason to go even more harder than usual. the only thing that had him hesitating was a pretty ravenette, dark eyes and intimidating tattoos that hid the gentleness behind it all. he couldn't do that to jungkook, but for some reason he couldn't get any words out either to push this guy away.
jimin stepped in, grabbing him friends arm and pulling him away from the other male. "you're fucking sick." he spit, glaring at seojoon while pushing taehyung behind his also small frame, "see you tonight." he said before holding onto his friends hand and pulling him along to the front gates of the school.
the weather outside wasn't the best to be running in, and jimin made sure to remind his friend of this about halfway down the sidewalk. their bags hit their backs with each step, their shirts starting to stick from the little droplets of sweat collecting at the bottom of their spines. "tae please." jimin was grasping onto the boys hand, and he's not sure when the roles switched from him pulling taehyung away to now the younger trying to get him to keep running to the gym. in his head he thought you were suppose to do the running at the gym.
"we're almost there." taehyung was tired too, and he knew the sweaty flustered look wasn't cute when first showing up to greet the tattooed male. he doesn't even remember if he told jungkook he was coming.
either way, the older male was not expecting to see the two boys bursting into his gym, sweaty and cheeks red from the sun. they were too tired to speak right away, but that look in both their eyes had jungkook feeling uneasy already.
