the night was cold and but the stars stayed out, sitting against black velvet without a cloud to obscure their shine. it was such a contrast to the heat inside the car, parked at the top of an empty parking garage. the sweat on their bodies seemed to shine like the stars.
taehyung felt the leather against his bare back, and he looked at the stars through the window for a second longer before feeling teeth on his exposed collarbones and shutting them, reveling in the feeling of the other males mouth on his hot skin, marking him for days to come.
the boy felt his fingers tug in the mans hair, rocking his hips upwards for some friction and filling the car with soft moans and hot breaths fanning against each other's faces. everything felt so good, it felt so right — to be here, right now with him, to be together.
taehyung wondered how he got here, he doesn't remember, but it didn't really matter. he ran his hands down the arms placed at either side of him, the man hovering over him and still sucking on his neck and biting at the tan canvas to paint with his tongue. "seojoon," the younger breathed, "that feels so good."
"try again."
he knew that voice. it was too familiar, but not the one he was expecting. taehyungs eyes opened slowly, and he felt his stomach twist and the lips continue their assault along his neck and soon starting a trail down to his chest. taehyung couldn't look, not yet — but he couldn't stop his eyes from seeing the dark ink on the mans arms, a twisting river of black across flesh and veins that ran up both limbs connecting to strong shoulders and even more bare skin covering an equally strong torso.
taehyung thought he should be freaking out, panicking that this was him. but his mouth felt so good, and then he stopped right at his belly, just to finally look up through bangs that matched the night sky and eyes just as dark but seemed to shine like the stars. "don't wake up tae," jungkook said, a wicked smirk on his face with each word, "you know you don't want to."
pitch darkness. everything was gone and taehyung was sitting up so quick his head was spinning. the boy was sweating and breathing hard, but there was a ceiling over his head and a bed underneath him. taehyung looked down and saw he was bare, but there was no leather seats and no tattooed arms beside him. no jungkook either.
he sighed and tried to catch his breath properly. taehyung looked at the time and saw how late it was. he was just having odd dreams, bad dreams.
"you okay?" seojoon asked from next to him, a hand landing on the youngers bare back and rubbing gently. taehyung looked over and saw his boyfriend still half asleep, he probably already fell asleep after asking those words.
"i'm fine." taehyung said as he pushed off the sheets and searched for his clothes on the floor. they were everywhere, but he's had practice finding them in the dark before.
his boyfriend didn't say anything else and soon he was snoring again. taehyung dressed and left the room, unable to sleep any longer and needing a walk. his parents might have wondered where he was anyways.
it was cold out, and taehyung suddenly felt like he was in his dreams again as he rubbed his arms and tried to warm up. the walk back to his house wasn't too far, but he had to go through the center of the city, passing by a specific fitness center.
"of course." the pink haired boy mumbled to himself as he saw the gym from across the street. no one was out this late, only some stragglers and a few people stumbling home from bars after a night out. what he didn't expect was the see the lights on at the fitness center, on the second floor that seemed to be such a secret and locked away just for the tattooed boy.
taehyung hated this. he hated the cold night and he hated how cold the dark haired male was to him and he hated that he knew he didn't actually hate him. there was so much hate, but yet there really wasn't any at all.

there really were no secrets between them, partly because they had no one else to tell and no one else to talk to. they were each other's safe spaces to say as they wish and only get honesty in return, even though that honesty may hurt sometimes — they all knew it came from a place of caring.
the three boys sat together at lunch, everyone of them listening close to the youngest one talking. taehyung told them about the tiny fight he had with jungkook, and then the dream, and then basically feeling absolutely terrible about everything in his life.
"i think i need to talk to seojoon." he finally admitted it out loud. it was hard for the words to form and actually leave his lips, but taehyung knew he wasn't happy right now. all he wanted was a break from everything.
his two friends tired not to smile at that, both of them didn't like seojoon anyways. "what are you going to say to him?" hoseok asked. jimin was too busy stuffing his mouth with plastic cheese covered pizza and pieces of cut fruit in a tiny cup.
"i'm not sure yet." taehyung was chewing on the inside of his cheek. "i just want to talk. we haven't done that in a while." he said.
it was true, there wasn't much between them besides chaste kisses in the hall followed by a few words and then messy sheets on some nights, but even those ended too quick for the boy to even hear anything more that his name moaned and then deep snores. taehyung was too much of a positive person to see their relationship plateaued, not when he had too much hope for them to return to the way they were before.
those were the things the boy repeated in his head, almost like a prayer as he sat through class and waited for the final bell to ring. taehyung didn't want to forget what he wanted to say, he didn't want to forget the feeling in his stomach as he watched the clock tick towards his future. there's no way he'd chicken out now. there's only few times taehyung ever thought he'd have the chance to speak up to his boyfriend, voice his feelings without it being twisted to seem like he had done something wrong.
those words went over and over, a cycle of determination in his mind as he heard that bell. taehyung grabbed all his books and shoved them in his backpack, he needed to be quick to catch the jock before practice. that usually meant outside the locker rooms.
taehyungs fancy shoes hit the hallway floor leaving little echoes. most people headed the other way, towards the entrance of the school to flow into the parking lot and escape. taehyung header towards the back where the gym was, leading to the fields and the locker rooms.
he heard them before he saw them, loud laughing and chatter that filled the now empty halls. taehyung saw his boyfriend, and he smiled — and then he didn't, remembering how he felt earlier. "seojoon!" the boy called out, seeing his head turn when hearing his name shouted.
"tae, babe." seojoon said, walking away from the group of footballers to meet his boyfriend halfway. they hugged briefly, taehyung got his cheek kissed, and then they walked together towards the end of the hall and the doors that led out to the fields. "what's up?"
taehyung was still holding onto his books. "i just wanted to talk real quick, before your practice." he said.
"i did too actually." seojoon said. he took the boys hand and they sat down on the first bench of the bleachers. "i've been thinking about it for a while."
taehyung smiled and felt a bit relieved, they never talked. this was a good thing. this was a good thing. this was a good-
"i think we should take a break."
"what?" taehyungs head shot up at that. those pretty brown eyes were widened and if he felt bad earlier today he definitely felt worse now. "what are you talking about?"
seojoon was still holding onto his hand and rubbing the back of it lightly, so gentle and caring — if only he really meant it. "with the summer season starting at the gym along with football and finals coming up." seojoon started to list the excuses, "i thought it was time to drop some unneeded baggage. we don't spend enough time together now anyways."
taehyung stood up and ripped his hands away. "and why do you think that is?" he shot, the anger was pretty clear in his voice now.
"there's no reason to shout." seojoon just looked up at him and did nothing else really. that is, until he stood and placed his hand on the younger boys face, his thumb rubbing over his cheek. it was nothing like the time jungkook did it.
taehyung leaned away from his touch, and his picked his back pack up to leave. everyone left. no one stayed and they always got bored of him once they got what they wanted.
it was the truth, the only one that mattered — so taehyung repeated those words, over and over as he walked out the halls of the school and felt the sun warm the coldness that seeped into his chest.
