summer was coming to an end, the cooler weeks of fall approaching and bringing promises of snow and colored leaves on the sidewalks. it was much talked about, whether through family members or even on the radio. everyone preparing for the seasons coming, whether that brings holidays or preparation of the new school year.

none of that seemed to be on their minds, not when their footsteps hit the sidewalk on the way to the building. they all had their hopes and expectations high for something much different than everyone else.

"you excited?" the tall ravenette leaned down to ask close to the boys ears, already knowing the answer based on his bright eyes and happy steps. "are you kidding me of course." taehyung grinned, bouncing a little with each step down the sidewalk. "he's only been talking about this for years."

jungkook chuckled with a nod and kept his hand firm around the smaller boys, it was cold out today but taehyung insisted they held hands still. of course, his best friend didn't want to be left out on the walk. which is why jimin swung his and taehyungs hand as well with a smile just as big. "i'm excited too." he cut in to the couples conversation. "i cant wait to use these." he held up the slips of paper.

the other two nodded with smiles, doing their best not the let the giggles pass. jimin kept on talking about family discounts and coupons for so long, it only became necessary for taehyung to draw up a few and just give them to him so he could be quiet. one day he'd find out they weren't truly valid, but that was a dilemma for the future best fiends to deal with.

"you got coupons?" mrs. kim peeked over the boys much taller shoulders, just for jimin to nod with a big smile. he abandoned his best friends hand to show the slips of paper to mrs. kim, the two of them talking about produce items and buy one get ones.

taehyung started to feel bad about the bad coupons, and he almost said something if they didn't arrive so soon. his big brother came walking out of a door with his famous grin and arms open. "you guys didn't get lost!" he joked.

"hoseok wasn't here to lead the way so we were fine." jimin said, putting the coupons back into his pocket and smiling up at his friends brother. "true," namjoon agreed, and then he could no longer wait any longer as the excitement and anticipation had been building for far too long. seeing his favorite people here only made that feeling ten times more intense. "okay come inside, i can't wait any more." he ushered the group inside and away from the cold seoul air, just to hold his arms out again.

"tada!" namjoons loud voice echoed in the empty room. it was large, and clearly under construction with wooden beams across the ceilings and unfinished walls standing where the back would be separated from the front dining and grocery section. jungkook looked at his boyfriend and rose an eyebrow, receiving an elbow to the side and a glare.

mrs. kim walked in further and looked around the room, "honey it still looks very unfinished." she pointed out. from all he's said it sounded like progress was well on its way, and things were looking so good so far. those words were not being supported by the visual aspect of the building.

"use your imagination mom." he said, still smiling. the lack of enthusiasm around the people here didn't seem to sway his mood, not in the slightest as he walked to one wall and explained what he was seeing. "imagine the counter here, that nice marble you picked out from the catalog and giving a clear view of the cooking stoves so you can see your meals being prepared or fresh meats prepared togo." he continued to walk around the fantasy counter soon to be there, just to point at the opposite wall, "and this will be the grocery section, to take what we use so people know what's going into their meals and even do it for themselves at home."

namjoon continued to go on, showing everything he has planned in his mind. taehyung leaned his head on his boyfriends shoulder, listening to the males voice fill the room with his dreams and ideas. he only stopped once mentioning the little tables that would be outside with deep red umbrellas over each of them. mrs. kim was smiling now, going up to give her son a hug, "it looks beautiful."

"hell yeah." jimin seconded that, eyes looking like little crescents and soon cheeks to be hurting from all the smiling done today. success should always be celebrated, no matter how little or how small or whether it was happening to you or someone else.

the short male took off his backpack and pulled out an 8-pack of bubbley soda, plus one can of sparkling water for mrs. kim. "let's cheers to that." jimin said, handing them out as they stood in a circle inside the room that would soon be everything namjoon hoped for and more. they all held their cans up and tapped the metal outsides together, not as fancy or grand as champagne and glass would be, but somehow it fit perfectly.

"this is really cool hyung." taehyung said to his brother. they were standing by the front window, letting the sunlight shine in and illuminate the room since there were no actual lightbulbs to do so. namjoon smiled and took a sip of his soda, it was room temperature, but he still appreciated the gesture from the boy who brought them — it almost made him smile a little more.

taehyung looked up and couldn't help the playful tone in his voice, "you know he is kinda cute, admit it." he teased his older brother, seeing the way namjoon tore his eyes away from the short male talking to his mother. "what? s-shut up." he got defensive, and even tried to glare at his little brother. namjoon just shoved his shoulder a little, "it doesn't matter so be quiet."

"oh come on, why do you think he's always at our house." taehyung giggled and nudged his brother back. the guy was so smart, yet he never failed to sometimes be so oblivious.

namjoons eyebrows furrowed together when he glanced down at the shorter boy beside him, "because he's your friend taehyung."

he blinked. "okay, i understand your logic," taehyung admitted, "but you're still an idiot. go talk to him." he pushed his brother away towards his best friend, wanting that little ship to set sail and stay afloat.

with one gone it only sent another, this time in the form of an arm around the boys small waist. "are you done playing cupid?" jungkook whispered quietly in his boyfriends ear. he'd let the two siblings talk, and now that the boy was left alone it was his turn to steal him away.

"cupid never sleeps. i'm a pro that must always put my skills to the test." taehyung smiled, proud of himself, especially when seeing his brother and best friend talk across the room and it seemed to be going okay. by that there were no petrified looks of help sent in his direction, instead just laughing and talking.

"put your skills on me." jungkook gave the boys waist a squeeze, causing him to jump and lightly smack the males toned chest. "jesus my mother is here stop." the youngers cheeks were so red, more so than the imaginary umbrellas above namjoons outside seating arrangement. jungkook just chuckled, kissing the boys temple and keeping him close as usual.

soon the sodas were empty and some stomachs were starting to beg for something more than carbonated liquids. "one day we'll come here and eat lunch." jimin said to taehyung, holding his hand again and looking up at the boys older brother, "i look forward to it."

namjoon smiled with a nod, holding the door for them all to greet the cold air once again and search for some place to eat for now. they ended up at a sushi place, ordering a varying of dishes to satisfy everyone's preferences and appetites. it was hard to distinguish the days now, all seemed to be filled with good times and too many laughs to even remember what the jokes were.

but that was okay, because it was those good times that had them looking forward to more with the people they loved the most. jungkook sat there at the end of the table, his love to his right and that boys mother on his left. he couldn't remember what it was like to always be on his own, waking up by himself to spend the day with strangers and then end the day the same way he started it — none of that existed now, not when he had all these people around him.

"what are you thinking about?" taehyung leaned over and whispered quietly to the ravenette. jungkook gave the boys thigh a light squeeze underneath the table, a smile following, "just how good things are. how happy i am to be a part of it all." he admitted.

taehyung smiled, and he felt the little flower bloom in his chest and welcome the flurry of butterflies in his tummy. he's known jungkook for months now, but he doesn't think a day will pass where he doesn't become a complete blushing mess with butterflies threatening to fly out his throat. "i'm glad you're here too." he said, leaning forward to kiss his waiting lips.

it was short and sweet, like little promises and reminders of adoration that each boy held for the other. those promises would never be broken, nor would that adoration ever falter. they had won their fairytale.
