Chapter 1

Nya's POV:

If you ever had the chance to become the ruler of a kingdom, would you do it? Then take my place if you would. This life is not one I would have wished for. It's just rules, rules, and more rules. I agree with having rules, but having rules on how to breathe, who you can be with, and more...it's just so annoying! Don't let my parents know you are hearing me talk like this. I would be dead meat. Would you like to hear what I just said in royal tongue? Alright.

If you ever had the chance to become a greater being, would you capture the chance? Thou must take my place if you wouldst. Alas, this is not the life I would have wished to know. It is just rules upon rules. I do agree with rules, yet having rules about how to breathe, who thou mayst be with, and more...it leaves me flabbergasted. Do not let my parents know that thou art hearing me talk like this. They would have my head.

Yes, unfortunately, I have to talk like that in front of my family, which is just DUMB! Why should we have to talk differently than everyone else? And of course, why should we be taught how to breath??? Are they crazy? You can't breathe normally as a princess-it has to be tight and short. We take about 5 breaths per 30 seconds-so how do they expect me to sing well? It's ridiculous. Have you ever heard of it? No, you haven't. And they MAKE me do everything! Swimming and being in the workman's shack were the only things I was allowed to do that I picked, and being in the workshop was not passed by my parents. Only by the workman. Swimming was taught to me by the imperial guards, and the workman taught me how to create inventions that help my subjects. He says I have a gift for this, and that someday I will be an amazing ruler. When I am ruler, he will be my personal advisor for sure. His name is Cyrus Borg and he is the most fatherly figure to me. He never had a child because he never married, so he created one. Her name is Pixal Borg, and is the complete opposite of me, except that we are both smart and love to share our feelings with each other. Since she is allowed to go into the town, she will bring reports to me of how my people are faring. She was made soon after I was born which made her my age, and she is like a sister to me. She understands my problems, we grew up together, and we have created so many things together. Soon, she will help me make a midnight escape to the town in front of the castle, so I may see my people in person, and can learn how they are truly treated. My brother, Prince Kai, is the first born and heir to the throne, but he will be the King of Scorth instead of our kingdom, Valeskie, because he will be married to Princess Skylor, who is about to become Queen, because her father is being put in prison. I don't mind having her around, really. She and I are good friends. I only wish that instead of Kai moving to Skylor's kingdom(which is on an island), he could stay here so I don't have to deal with the tortures of being royal by myself. Unlike me, Kai doesn't mind being a Prince. He says it gives him the ability to marry Skylor, the love of his life, and although he says differently, it gives him many fans as well-which he loves. He has a big ego you could say. I have yet to find anyone who I would marry. No one is fit for me. But the worst thing possible for a Princess is not finding a Prince to marry, for if you do not by the time you are 16, your parents create a performed marriage for you. And that is my greatest fear. My birthday is in 2 months-not nearly enough time for me to find a Prince I could love. My parents have already started creating arrangements, and this alone makes me feel like jumping out of the castle to see if I have the ability of landing on my feet. No one is out there for me. No one is like me, could ever truly love me, and I now fear there will never be anyone to hold me as I see my brother hold Skylor-in a loving embrace, one that creates a bond, a truce between them. One that says a million words in one movement. I fear I will never get to feel that "wonderful feeling of the stars", as Skylor says. I fear of the future...

I dread my own birthday.

Cole's POV:

"You know I hate that shirt."

"But, your highness! You must wear it, or your father will be very cross.", said the servant as he buttoned up the deep green, dress shirt. I despised the color-it reminded me to much of that time when I was cursed, and became a ghost. I spent weeks in my room, sulking as the whole castle tried to find a cure for me. Finally, after almost a year, they found a way to-in a way-bring me back to life. It was on the Day of the Departed just last year. A portal was created with the Yin-Yang moon, and I had to enter the portal. I barely made it, causing a green line to appear on my forehead from my ghost body. It was mostly hidden by my black hair though, so it wasn't very noticeable. It was like an old scar, and it would take awhile to heal. I also got what we like to call "ghost hands", which I use when I am training. They allow me more strength, although they make my arms glow and have black lines on them. Because of my training, we discovered that I had an elemental power, and my father sent for Sensei Wu, son of the First Spinjitzu Master. The First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago, the realm in which we live in. Sensei Wu is a master of the elements, and trained me to learn how to use them, along with a boy my age, from my kingdom. His name is Zane, elemental master of Ice. I am the master of earth. Sensei Wu taught is how to do Spinjitzu, and told us there were many more like us. One day we would get to meet them-I could not wait for that day to come. Maybe I could-

"Prince Cole! Are you alright?!", came the desperate plea of the servant, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"I'm sorry, Roger. I was just thinking.", I answered as he pulled my black tux onto me.

"Sometimes you think to much, Your Highness. It is better to know what is real, and what is not. You are constantly in your fantasy world."

"It's better than the thought of marrying my childhood friend-who by the way, I haven't seen for the past six years!", I mumbled loudly as I combed my hair. "What could possibly go wrong?", I asked sarcastically as I tied my black shoes.

"Please, Prince. Just give it a chance? Maybe you will actually like her.", Roger told me as we walked down the large castle hallways. Finally, we made it out of the large castle, and we walked to the Coach that sat in front of the lush garden. Right before I climbed in, I nodded my head.

"Alright. I'll give it a try. But if something doesn't work out, I'm blaming it on you.", I told the grown servant with a joking smile. He smiled back and waved, as I rode in the carriage alongside my father, King Lou of the kingdom of Brookstone. Quite the mouthful.

The trip was silent, yet I was content. All my father wanted to talk about usually was his dreams and visions for me. I was tired of them. I was 17, so why couldn't I make these kind of decisions? I could only pray that this whole marriage idea would work out. It would take 3 days to get to the kingdom of Valeskie, and I would treasure every one of them, praying for them to drag by.

No One's POV:

The next days seemed to fl by in a flash, much to the two royal teens disappointment. Neither wanted an arranged marriage, but because of their age and lack of a suitor, this was what had been chosen for them. Preparations were made at the castle in Valeskie. The castle was cleaned three times a day, food was prepared, and of course, a new dress had been made for Princess Nya.

"Ah, cheer up, Nya! Maybe this one will go well.", said Skylor reassuringly to her future sister-in-law.

"*sigh*I guess. I've just had to do this so many times, that now I have  lost the feeling of excitement to it. It's just another man to meet.", she replied, voice void of emotion. Skylor too sighed, as she pulled my bangs of her raven, black hair back, pinning them on the back of her hair. After a few minutes, she was all ready, and Nya twirled in front of the mirror, making sure she looked presentable. My red dress with golden sleeves and golden, stitched vines, flew out into a perfect circle, then rested in it's spot just above her toes. Nya's blue eyes contrasted brightly against her black hair and tanned skin. Blue flats were on her feet, and a blue necklace lay on her neck. The symbol of a Phoenix was on a golden charm on her silver bracelet-it was one of the many bracelets Nya and Pixal had crafted together. I contentedly smiled. At least she was happy about my looks.

Skylor smoothed out her orange dress, with red sleeves(Kai's favorite color), and they walked out of the room. After the excruciating long walk, they arrived at the doors to the throne room. The great wooden doors were covered in gold leaves, and red and blue markings. Truly, a sight to see. Voices were heard from behind them. "Are you ready?", Skylor asked Nya, smiling kindly. Nya had always been the sister she never had, and Kai was the perfect man for her. Now, she was going to do her best to help Nya's parents find a suitable man for Nya-one that she deserved. Nya nodded, and plastered on a sweet smile. The guards opened the heavy doors, and they stepped in. Immediately, Skylor made her may over to Kai, who greeted her with a warm smile, and squeezed her hand. "Nice dress.", he whispered knowing she liked it when he complimented her. While Kai and Skylor stood on one side of the King Ray and Queen Maya's thrones, Nya stood on the opposite side, doing her best to keep her composure, a fake smile on her face. Her face already hurt. And then he walked in.

King Lou of Brookstone, followed by his son and his highest guards, walked in with flair and power to their step-except one. His brown eyes were cast downward, watching the deep, red carpet as he walked. One would not have recognized the soon-to-be adult, for his step was filled with fear that his dear friend had forgotten him, causing him to walk like a servant boy. A smile was plastered on his face, like Nya's. But her smile became real once she recognized who it was. Forgetting every rule on how to behave, she ran down the short steps, and leaped into the boy's arms, engulfing him in a giant hug. "Cole! It's been so long!", she exclaimed as she almost crushed him with her hug.

"O-ka-y! CaN't-b-b-BreATh!", he barely said. She quickly let go and stepped back.

"Sorry. Wow! You've changed! In a good way of course. But your hair's longer, and your alot taller! How long as it been?", she said in excitment.

"Six years." He smiled as she bounced in joy. They were slowly walking out of the big room, and into the hallway that led to the gardens. He easily pushed open the doors, not caring they weighed a ton(2,000 pounds) each. Nya's eyes got big as they walked down the halls. Finally as soon as they were out of sight from the court room(leaving everyone shocked and rooted in their spot), they ran down the long hallway, ending in the garden.

"I can't believe it's really you!", she squealed as they sat down under an apple tree. "You've just-grown up I guess I could say."

"Well, so have you. Your hair is longer, your eyes are brighter, and your taller too. And you're wearing blue? Never thought I would see you in that one. But it looks good on you. Makes your smile look brighter.", the prince told her, making her blush from the praise. And then they started talking. And talking. And talking, and talking, and talking, and-I think you get the point. It was as if they had never been apart for six years. They were talking and acting like they saw each other every day. But one the side of feelings...that was hard to decide. Both of them did not want to marry the other-they were just best friends. They wanted to go and find love, to feel the rush of emotions that came with it. They would be content if they married, but being content was different than being in love. There was a big difference. But if Nya didn't find someone else, they would have to get married...She resolved that wouldn't happen. Cole and her didn't want to get married to each other, and that was that.

As I was saying, please be patient with me! I have some high hopes for this book! I will slowly introduce all the characters-and yes. By the end of this the team will be fully formed, Nya included. Also Cole's love interest, but ANYWAYS! So, thank you for your time, and to all of my Pixane, Jaya, Kailor, and Lloyrumi(haven't gotten to Akita yet) fans-----------

I salute you.

So thank you, and I love you! Please expect a lot of fluff in the next chapter, and if you get hysterical over this stuff like me, please buckle up, and don't blow the roof off with your hysterical laughing and squealing. Do not worry. I feel you.
