"Ah," Hawk purred, having scanned their minds, "it seems you have figured out exactly what I happen to be."

Before Emily's would-be attackers could think of anything to say (or even do, for that matter), Hawk narrowed his eyes and bared his fangs at them in a hiss before making his attack in reaching over and pulling the leader to him. Cocking his head, Hawk buried his fangs into the man's throat and began to drain the mugger of almost all his blood, casually taking his time in doing so; the leader didn't have time to yell out in shock, or pain, for that matter. His other two fellow muggers screamed in shock, whereas Emily did her best to stay as calm as possible, despite her only action being to blink in surprise once.

As soon as Hawk pulled his fangs out, he casually dropped the leader (who was still breathing, as Hawk had left him with some blood in his body) onto the ground with a thump before turning to the other two still shocked would-be muggers; he still had one drop of their leader's blood on one corner of his mouth, which he wiped away with a small kerchief from his jacket pocket.
