CLASSICAL MUSLIMAH: 22

Ankara, Turkey.
Monday, 11th May, 2018.

"Hoşgeldiniz, merhaba {welcome. Welcome}" Abulkhair smiled while Eesh looked on wierdly. They both didn't know what the lady had said, it sounded like a form of greeting to them though.

"Sorry Ma'am. We don't understand Turkish, just English or Arabic." the lady chuckled nervously.

"My bad. I'm Zehra. And you?" the lady asked Eesh.

"Eesh."

"Aisha." Eesh and Abulkhair said simultaneously.

"Naga alama wani abu na damunka {I can see that something is wrong with you}." Eesh said with narrowed eyes then turned to the lady with a smile.

"It's Eesh." she smiled for emphasis.

"What do i call your husband Eesh hanim?" Eesh frowned before she smiled almost immediately.

"Knucklehead." Eesh smiled.

"It's Abulkhair. Pardon her." Abulkhair smiled.

"Okay, Eesh hanim, Abulkhair mey, Kaba won't be able to make it today so he sent me. I'm sure he told you."Abulkhair nodded and she continued.

"Now since it's almost time for Zuhr prayer, let's go to the mosque. I have two choices which I believe we can tour before it's time to pray. There's Haci Bayram Veli mosque, and Kocatepe mosque, which will it be?"

"Haci whatever!"

"The second." Eesh and Abulkhair said simultaneously again. The lady chuckled, finding their relationship cute.

"We are going to the Haci and there's nothing you're going to do about it." Eesh said with narrowed eyes making Abulkhair roll his eyes - something he unknowingly learned from Eesh during the trip.

"Let's see how it goes." Abulkhair smiled and Eesh looked around.

She found a bench and sat down then pulled out her phone from a crepe bag.

"What are you doing?" Abulkhair asked. She ignored him continued tapping the Samsung screen angrily.

"I hope you're aware that Samsung screens are highly sensitive." Eesh's finger stopped mid-way but she tapped the screen anyways, although, softly this time around.

"Can we go bey?" Zehra asked.

"Yes. Aisha, let's go." Eesh ignored him making him sigh.

"Aishatu. Get up let's go." Abulkhair said sternly. Eesh ignored him once again.

"Aishatu!" Eesh still ignored him.

"Fadis {Stupid}! Put me down." Eesh hit Abulkhair's back but he ignored her. She was ignoring him too few minutes ago.

"Hal anta majnun {Are you mad}? I know you're not so bleeping put me down." Eesh screamed again. She still got nothing but silence.

"Help! Help! He's kidnapping me! Help me!" Eesh screamed, the few people around were starting to come closer when Zehra spoke up.

"Merak etme. Onun karısı {Don't worry. He's her husband}. " the people stopped coming over. Some smiling at how cute it was, some sending curses to Eesh who couldn't care one bit.

"Wai ni akuya ce da zaka dauka haka? Wallahi idan baka sauke ni nan da minti daya bah... {Am I goat that you're carrying me as such? I swear by Allah if you don't put me down within one minute...}" Abulkhair laughed, registering that she was fuming. She only spoke a full sentence in Hausa when she was very angry. She preferred to speak English, Arabic, Shuwa or Fulfulde even though she couldn't speak Fulfulde well. He never cared to ask why but it seemed she had something against the Hausa tribe.

"Meye zakiyi {What would you do}?" Eesh huffed, giving up, not completely though. She was devising plans on how to murder Abulkhair the moment they got back to Nigeria. She wasn't going to allow him scot free after that embarrassment.

They got to where the driver who was supposed to take them round the city was and Abulkhair dropped Eesh.

"You shouldn't have dropped me, fadis {stupid}." Eesh hissed lowly and entered the car.

Surprisingly, they went to the Haci Bayram Velı mosque. Eesh wasn't pacified though.

She refused to talk to Abulkhair or even walk with him. She walked far behind them throughout.

"We still have time before I close for the day. Can you list the places you've gone to Eesh hanim?" Eesh narrowed her eyes at Zehra who smiled sheepishly.

"We've been to museum of Anatolian civilizations, Atakule, Cermodern and Unucalnar prison museum." Zehra nodded.

"Let's go to Anitkabir. It's the closest." they entered the car again and the driver took them to the ancient building.

They enterer after taking all the necessary steps.

"The Anitkabir is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the war of Independence and the founder and first president of the republic of Turkey. It is known to be the eternal resting place of the great leader, Atatürk. Anitkabir, which is the expression of the great respect and appreciation of the Turkish nation towards their great leader is the most meaningful work of the Republic of Turkey." Zehra continued to show them around with Abulkhair occasionally asking questions while Eesh scoffed.

By the time they were done, it was dark already and Zehra had surpassed her closing time. She hurriedly wished them farewell and a happy stay in Ankara as Kaba, their former tour guide had called and said he'd make it the next day, which meant they'd probably not see each other again.

As they approached the car, Eesh saw a man talking to the driver. He hurriedly walked away when he saw them coming.

"How long from here to the apartment?" Abulkhair asked their driver.

"Two hours forty five minutes, approximately three hours." Abulkhair sighed. He didn't want to keep the driver and it was already quite late. Some minutes to 9pm already.

"Is there a hotel or somewhere we could lodge?" Abulkhair asked making Eesh gasp.

"Are you crazy? We can't just lodge anywhere. Daddy made sure he warned us when I told him about the person that was following us." Abulkhair rolled his eyes.

"There's no man. We can't be taking a three hours long drive from here at this time of the night. It's not safe."

"Well then let's call daddy and tell him."

"Aisha, there's really no need for all this. We've got this." Eesh shook her head frantically.

"No, we've got nothing! I don't like the way you're so carefree about our safety. If you aren't worried about your safety then I'm worried about mine." Eesh deadpanned before getting into the car.

"Look, you're going to take him to wherever the hell he wants to go to and me, back to the hotel." Abulkhair smirked inwardly. Oh, who knew the great Aisha Muhammad Umar Jalingo, alias Classical Muslimah could get scared.

"Oh sweetheart, are you scared?" Eesh angrily whipped her head to him.

"I'm not!" She snapped, folding her hands against her bosom.

"Nah, you are. It's okay. I knew you were always a Scaredy cat to begin with." Abulkhair entered the car.

"Take us back to the hotel. Miss Scaredy cat here can't sleep elsewhere." Abulkhair said nonchalantly, faking a yawn. He knew he was riling Eesh up. But that was the plan.

"I'm. Not. Scared." Eesh said through gritted teeth, enunciating each word.

"It's okay. I understand. Girls tend to get scared of every little thing. I won't bug you or tease you." Eesh groaned.

"Take us to the motel. This man here needs to see that I'm not scared." Eesh said adamantly and Abulkhair smirked. Mission accomplished!

When they reached the front of the motel, Eesh started to feel queasy. Maybe she should've just accepted that she was scared. But she wasn't, she was just thinking about her safety.

"Are you starting to rethink, miss Scaredy cat?" Eesh looked around. Abulkhair had already gone out and was now standing in front of the car. The driver was patiently waiting for her to come out.

"No." Eesh walked outside and only then did she get a clear view of the motel. She gulped. It looked okay, a little bit dilapidated but still okay.

It was an unfenced three story building, noise was coming from the inside. She could sight some broken windows and zero air-conditioners. There were no cars around and the street it was situated on was quiet and had an eerie feeling.

A chill ran down her spine. Abulkhair noticed and slipped his hand into hers, she looked down at it and he squeezed her hand. It did nothing to make her feel better. She just felt uncomfortable with his hand holding beds.

"Let's go." Abulkhair gave her a small reassuring smile and they walked into the place.

Unbeknownst to them, the spy was following them. It was such a perfect opportunity he couldn't miss.

The driver stopped in front of the spy and the spy gave him a bundle of money wrapped ina thick black polythene bag.

"Come meet me at the location I'll send you now. Come with five other men, you all should be armed. We have work to do." the man from the other side said something making the spy groan.

"Then send Yaktuk, I know he lives around this area. He has some men too, right?" they talked some more and within some minutes, the said Yaktuk who was a scary looking man with a tattoo covering the whole of his left arm and half of his face came with three other men with the same body build as he.

"Let's wait for thirty minutes. When they're fully relaxed." Yaktuk didn't reply. He just said something to one of the men who immediately removed his shirt and sprawled on the floor. Yaktuk sat on it, awaiting the thirty minutes to collapse.

"I honestly don't know if this place is safe, but let's call Abba." Abulkhair said. Maybe he should've listened to Eesh. They would've gone at least half the way of the hotel. Or they could've found a better place to lodge.

"Okay." Abulkhair ringed up Alhaji Muhammad who picked on the third ring.

"Assalamu Alaikum Ahmad yadai?" Abulkhair explained the situation to him.

"Baku da hankali ne {Are you mad}? What's the point of me doing everything from here if you people are just going to throw away my efforts? Do you think I didn't know what I was doing ne when I specifically asked you to stay in the hotel I booked for you? There are people..." Alhaji Muhammad's words were cut off by the door being burst open. The impact sent the door flying, merey missing Eesh's face by a few inches. Eesh in turn screamed while Abulkhair dropped his phone.

Before Abulkhair could say his surname, one of the men that came inside was dragging a shabbily dressed Eesh by her hair.

"Promise me you'll take care of Aishatu for me."

That reminder snapped Abulkhair to reality and he grabbed the thing closest to his which was a lamp. He threw it at the man dragging Eesh and another man his his side, laughing maniacally.

Abulkhair wasn't very strong, but he was smart. He bent down while holding his torso, he took about a minute to quickly observe the men. They were three, two of them had guns, one was holding his and was and standing beside the unarmed one who seemed to be the leader, the other has his gun tucked into his back pocket as he dragged Eesh, and he was the closest to Abulkhair.

Bending down as if he was going to collapse, Abulkhair snatched the gun from the man's pocket and without thinking twice shot in the air.

Eesh screamed, tears were rolling down her closed eyes and she was trying to get her hair released from the man's strong grip.

"Let her go." Abulkhair said pointing the gun to the man holding Eesh.

Asokoro, Abuja, Nigeria.

Alhaji Muhammad was wet with sweat, he had been pacing his room.

"I don't care Philip! Track the damn phone!" Alhaji Muhammad snapped into the phone. He could hear Abulkhair say something about shooting one of the men and a laugh followed.

The second phone in his hand rang an he picked immediately.

"We've tracked the phone. They're in a brothel like place in a secluded part of Ankara. I've sent my men there." Alhaji Muhammad said an okay and asked the man to keep him updated then cut the call.

He called someone and the person picked when it wad about to end.

"Hello, Alhaji lafiya da qira a wannan lokaci {Is everything alright that you're calling me by this time?}." Alhaji Muhammad said something in Fulfulde.

"Yes, the jet is available. Just tell me when to send a driver." Alhaji Muhammad thanked him and ended the call. He sat on his bed and continued listening to the men and Abulkhair negotiate.

Ankara, Turkey.

"Whatever the person that sent you is paying you, I'll pay you more." Abulkhair bargained. The leader had been quiet all through. They weren't even going to be paid that much, just a few dollars that would be exhausted within a day. But it was the loyalty that mattered. And this man in front of him seemed desperate.

"Kai banza kawai ka harbe su {You foolish man just shoot them}!" Eesh shouted. The man wasn't holding Eesh's hair anymore. He was holding her hand so tight it'd definitely leave a bruise.

Yaktuk smiled at Eesh. He was a pure Hausa man. And she thought she was smart.

"Idan ya harbe mu sai meye zai faru {If he shoots us what will happen}?" Eesh gasped in disbelief. Before she could recover, they heard noises from below.

"Freeze!" two uniformed men with bulletproof vests said pointing guns.

The next ten minutes were in frenzy. The men were trying to take Eesh, Abulkhair had shot one of the men on the knee, he was shot on the hand in return. He didn't give up though. He ran to the man and hit him making him stagger, he grabbed Eesh's hand and started running towards the uniformed men who had multiplied.

Yaktuk and his men had to escape so they broke one of the windows and jumped down.

After making sure Eesh was safe, Abulkhair had lost consciousness due to the amount of blood he had lost. Eesh screamed when she saw his eyes closing.
