Chapter 19
Once Kevin and Jackson both got to Jackson's workplace, the building was filled with booming music and the intense sent of alcohol from when you stepped foot through the door to enter. "This is where I work" Jackson introduces as he glanced back at Kevin who still looked pretty amazed.
"Who's this Berry?" Alaska questions, walking up to Jackson with a smile on his face and his eyebrows raised.
"This is a friend from school, his name is Kevin." Jackson introduces, looking back at Kevin and saying "Kevin, this is Alaska, one of my best friends."
"It's nice to meet you" Kevin says with a smile on his face, still looking pretty amazed.
"This your first time being at a drag show?" Alaska questions, walking further into the bar with the two others following behind her.
"Yea, it is...I think it's so cool, I can't wait for you guys to perform." Kevin says, sounding intrigued.
Alaska smirked, answering "well you're just in luck because we're about to start the show. Try squirming your way up near the front of the stage to get a good look, because this is what your boo thang does when the moon rises and lights dim." Alaska replies, winking at Kevin before grabbing Jackson's wrist and bringing him backstage.
"A-Alaska!" Jackson stutters in embarrassment, his cheeks turning a dark red.
"What girl?! He's cute and you need someone in your life! You've never had someone before, I'm just doing you a favor and starting you off on the right track with that cute guy. What, do you not like him? You can't tell me he's not cute- and he's interested in what you're doing and wants to know more, it's the perfect package deal right there-" Alaska says, looking at Jackson like he was crazy if he didn't say he didn't like Kevin.
"I...I do think he's cute and all but...I don't even know if he likes boys..." Jackson says, looking down at his feet as he bit down on his bottom lip.
"Hunny..." Alaska starts off with saying, looking at Jackson seriously. "I get high levels of gaydar off of that boy, trust me, he's gay." Alaska says in a smirk before saying "now touch up on your makeup, I'm next and you're going right after me. Good luck girlie!" She says before waving bye to Jackson and walking towards the stairs of the stage, waiting for them to call her out.
Meanwhile with Jacob and Todd, Jacob was trying to go home but Todd wouldn't stop following Jacob, wanting to know what was up with him and why he was acting so distant towards him. Todd ended up following Jacob all the way home which Jacob himself didn't even notice until they were actually at his house.
"Jacob, who's your friend?" Jacob's mother questions, coming to the front door and seeing Jacob and Todd both outside on the porch.
When Jacob saw that his mom was meeting Todd for the first time, his face instantly turned a bright pink as he looked down. "He-He's no one! He was just leaving.." Jacob says in a stutter.
Jacob's mother could tell just from Jacob's face that this was the boy that Jacob had a crush on. "Why doesn't he stay for dinner? Do you want to stay for dinner?" Jacob's mother questions, smiling at Todd who looked surprised that he was being invited inside to eat dinner with Jacob's family.
"Sure, I would never pass up on food." Todd answers in a smile, walking into Jacob's house first, taking off his shoes at the front door.
As Todd walked into the living room like this was his own house, Jacob looked at his mother seriously and questions in an aggressive whisper "why did you invite him to eat with us?!"
"You'll thank me later" his mother replies in a light chuckle, patting Jacob on the shoulder before turning around and walking back into the kitchen, just finishing up dinner.
Jacob walked into the living room where Todd had walked to and sat down on the couch while Todd was still standing up, observing everything in Jacob's house. "You have a pretty nice house, Jacob." Todd says in observation, still looking around at everything.
"Thanks..." Jacob replies in a quiet tone, his voice almost mumbled in his response.
Todd didn't know what to say- other than compliment Jacob's house that is. He was trying to pry out an answer from Jacob the whole walk home from school, but Jacob seemed so persistent on keeping his mouth shut, that he didn't know what he could say to make Jacob open up to him.
Todd sat down next to Jacob on the couch, so close that their thighs were touching. Jacob's cheeks turned into a bright pink as he questions in a quiet tone "why are you so close?"
"To try getting an answer from you" Todd says, now moving his body closer to Jacob. He could tell that Jacob became slight nervous when Todd was close to him, and Todd was using Jacob's weakness to get the truth out of him.
"This isn't going to get an answer out of me." Jacob says in a serious tone, about to stand up to walk away from Todd, when Todd grabbed Jacob's wrist before he could walk away and dragged Jacob back towards him- bringing Jacob into his embrace. The pull was so sudden that Jacob fell right into Todd's lap and was sitting in between his legs.
"T-Todd" Jacob was only able to let out a slight stutter, wanting to get out of the position he was in, but Todd tightened his legs between Jacob's body, so Jacob couldn't get away. "Looks like you can't get away...now tell me...what's wrong?" Todd asks, looking at Jacob seriously.
Jacob turned his head, looking back at Todd. Both boys staring into each others eyes, inches apart from each others face, Jacob was getting more flustered than ever. "I...when I went to the party...you were all over the girls there...you didn't even notice me." Jacob says, trying to give Todd an answer as vaguely as possible- and to be let go out of the position he was in.
A slight chuckle could be heard coming from Todd as he questions "so you were jealous of the girls at the party?"
Jacob turned his face away so he could hide his expression from Todd. "Just forget I said anything." Jacob says, looking down at the ground in front of him. He really wanted to leave the situation he was in, but Todd was not letting him go.
"Were you jealous I was kissing all of the girls at the party, were you jealous I was giving them attention and not you?" Todd continues to ask those type of questions over and over again, wanting an answer from Jacob, but Jacob was staying quiet.
Todd let go of Jacob, but instantly pushed Jacob onto the couch they were originally sitting on and was on top of him, Jacob laying down, looking up at Todd. Todd gave Jacob a light smirk, asking "did you get jealous?"
Jacob could feel his heart beat extremely fast- it seemed as if he had run a marathon with how fast his heart was beating. Todd leaned down into Jacob's neck, kissing the side of Jacob's neck, licking it slightly before going up to his mouth and starting to make out with him.
Max had just gotten home, not hearing a peep coming from the house, he figured his parents were either past out somewhere or were outside the house, getting some 'medicine' for themselves. He rushed up to his bedroom where he could finally be alone and sighed, laying down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling.
Max had a bad habit- a bad habit of overthinking everything. A bad habit to get into his own mind and to think too much about things. "Maybe I should text Ryan..." he thought to himself, debating if he should start a text conversation with Ryan.
Max doesn't text people...or so to say- Max doesn't like texting people. Whenever he was left in his own thoughts, he never thought he would have anyone to talk to- to distract himself from being in those horrible thoughts, but for some reason- thinking about Ryan made Max...happy? It made him feel something other than sad. That small feeling is what made Max want to text Ryan.
He slowly pulled out his phone from his pants pocket and started at it for a while, looking up at his phone as he held it in front of his face. Contemplating for about ten minutes whether he should text Ryan or not- Max finally grew the 'courage' to text Ryan- saying a small "hi."
ten minutes pass with no response as Max continued staring at his phone, waiting for a reply. "Are you there?" Max continues to text- waiting a next twenty minutes, before sending the next text saying "if you don't want to text me- just tell me."
After an hour of waiting for Ryan to respond to his three messages, Max sighed, throwing his phone beside him on the bed and continued to stare at the ceiling. "Why would I think he would want to talk to me..." he says lightly to himself.
Meanwhile with Ethan and Carter, Carter cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck as he stood up. "Maybe I should leave...you know- to start on the project we have to do for class..."
Ethan knew there was no project they had to work on for class, but knew Carter was using that as a poor excuse to leave the awkward situation they were in. "Uh- yea..the project..I should start on it as well." Ethan says, playing along so he wasn't stuck in a grimy situation either.
At the same time Lucas had come back from the convenient store with a white plastic bag full of snacks and drinks. "I bought some food!" Lucas exclaims in excitement until he realized the thick aura he left the apartment with- was still lurking in the air between Carter and Ethan.
"I was actually- just about to leave" Carter says, wanting to walk past Lucas, but Lucas closed the door behind him before Carter could leave the house.
"We didn't even hang out yet altogether. I'm sure whatever you need to do can wait. Right, Carter?" Lucas asks in a smile, the smile no one could say no to.
Carter stared at Lucas for a second before lightly sighing. "I guess it could wait..." Carter mumbles, sounding like he didn't want to agree with Lucas, but was agreeing with him anyway.
Lucas happily skipped over to the couch where Ethan was still sitting down on. He placed the white plastic bag he brought back with him on the coffee table in front of the couch and sat in the reclining chair next to the couch. "I have an idea...let's play a card game!" Lucas exclaims.
"Card game?" Ethan repeats with one eyebrow raised in question.
"Yea- it'll be fun! Let's all play a card game. Whoever wins get a prize and whoever loses- gets a surprise." Lucas says- saying 'surprise' in a mischievous tone.
