Chapter 16

When the end of the day came and everyone was gathering into the club room, an awkward aura filled the room.

Nate walked in front of the class with a huge smile on his face. "Thank you for inviting all of us to your party yesterday, Kevin! It was really fun, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves very much." Nate explains in a smile that couldn't leave his face.

While Nate said that, Jacob looked down into his lap and started pulling on the bottom of his shirt with his fingers. Todd glanced in Jacob's direction to see him doing so and bit down on his bottom lip. He knew Jacob was upset with him because of yesterday, and didn't know how to make it up to him.

"It was Carter's idea to have the party, but yeah it was a fun time." Kevin replies, glancing at Jackson who seemed to be looking back at him with a slight smile on his face.

"Yeah...a great time last night." Carter hesitantly chuckled, trying to play it off that he enjoyed himself last night. He got so drunk to the point where he didn't remember anything that happened last night, and woke up in a random strangers house, his night wasn't the best, but he played if off as best as he could that it was fun.

Nate smiled hearing everyone talk about the party and explains "it's good to see things like this are bringing all of us closer together one by one. Let's get back into our groups and start working on our projects, okay guys?" Nate asks and everyone nodded meaning okay, getting up from their seats and going to where their partner was to continue with their project and or brainstorming ideas.

Ryan didn't get up to stand from his desk, which was weird because he was the one always standing to go to Max. Max groaned seeing that Ryan wasn't getting up to walk towards him. All he saw was Ryan's back as he was sitting in his seat, staring at nothing in front of him.

Max slowly got up from his own seat and stood in front of Ryan's desk, looking down at him. "Come on, let's work on the project." Max says, which was surprising for anyone to hear. Max, saying that he was willing to do work and was asking Ryan to assist him with the work he was willing to do. A once in a lifetime moment right there.

Ryan looked up at Max's face before looking down at his desk. "I don't think I'll be much help" Ryan mumbles, Max being almost not able to understand what he said.

Max was starting to get annoyed, not impressed by Ryan's sulking. "We'll be back" Max says before grabbing Ryan's wrist and dragging him out of his seat, and out of the classroom.

"Max, Max let me go!" You could hear Ryan exclaim all the way out of the classroom and down the hall.

Since school was over, Max pushed Ryan into an empty classroom and closed the door behind them. He looked at Ryan and crossed his arms over his chest. "So whats up..." he says in a stern voice, you could hear Max was trying to put on a cold persona.

"What, you dragged me out of the class to just ask me how I am?" Ryan questions in annoyance, looking slightly upset as he turned his head away from Max.

Max saw that and explains "no...I'm asking what was up about this morning, because I know that's why you're acting like this now."

Ryan shot a glare at Max, questioning "you're really asking about this morning as if you don't know what you did wrong? Why should I even bother reminding you. If you forget about what happened and it didn't even happen that long ago, it just shows how much respect you have for me." Ryan scoffs, sitting down on a chair closest to the nearest desk and looking down into his lap.

Max walked up to Ryan, standing in front of him before saying "I do remember what happened. I know I messed up...and...I'm sorry..." Max says, saying he was sorry under his breath, almost as if it was a whisper, but loud enough for Ryan to hear.

Ryan looked up at Max when he heard him apologise, a small smile appearing on his face as his heart started to pound roughly. "So...you do care about me?" Ryan questions, standing up and looking up into Max's eyes.

Max looked back down into Ryan's eyes, he didn't want to admit he cared about someone. It was out of his 'character' to do so. He barley even cared about himself, so to say out loud that he cared about another person like that, was a little embarrassing.

Ryan could see Max was hesitating to answer his question and decided to repeat his question; "so you do care about me?" Now the smile on his face turning wider as the seconds went by.

Max looked around the room to make sure for the second time that no one was in the room before looking back down at Ryan and mumbling "fine, I guess I do..."

Ryan looked at max surprised. He knew he was pushing Max, but he didn't think Max would actually say it from his own mouth. It was like Ryan was in shock for a second before smiling brightly.

Max groaned loudly, bringing one hand up and rubbing the back of his neck with one hand. "I tend to speak before I think...so about this morning...I didn't really mean it, I just wasn't thinking. I'm use to pushing people away all the time...because it's the only thing I'm good at. You know me, you know who I am and my reputation. I'm sure you've heard of it. People use me, try causing fights with me, disrespect me. I'm use to pushing people away, so that's why I was so harsh on you this morning without realising it until after it all went down." Max tries to explain, defending himself and his actions from that morning.

Ryan looked at Max more seriously before nodding. "It's fine Max, and yes  I do know the rumours going around about you. Who wouldn't when you're in almost all the drama this school has." Ryan chuckles which Max slightly smiled to as he looked down at his feet. Ryan then continues to say "it's fine Max, I don't hold anything against you."

When Max had heard that, he didn't show on his face how happy he was, he looked more neutral than ever. On the inside though, he was extremely happy. He wanted to throw his first in the air and cheer of joy, but he had an image to maintain. All Max did to show Ryan how happy he was, was to walk closer to Ryan, put his hands around Ryan's waist, pulling him closer and kissing him passionately.

Meanwhile back at the class, Lucas walked up to Ethan and Carter who both looked like they weren't conversing with each other at all. Since Max and Ryan were out of the room, his partners weren't in the classroom for him to do anything.

He pulled over a chair from a nearby desk when he walked up to the two of them and sat down. Once Lucas sat down, both Ethan and Carter looked at him in a questionable matter with a; 'what are you doing here?' Kind of look.

"You two seem just as awkward as ever" Lucas says, starting conversation as he began laughing.

"How can it not be awkward? I'm partners with him." Carter says as he continued to look down at his new phone.

Lucas looked from Carter who was still staring down at his phone in hand, to Ethan who looked like he was just blankly staring down at the desk in front of him. Lucas couldn't see Ethan's expression on his face because Ethan's bangs were covering most of his face.

Lucas lightly started to chuckle and explains "it's because you two don't know each other. That's why I think the three of us after club, should go to Ethan's house like how we once suggested to begin with." Once Lucas suggested that, that's when Ethan brought his head to look up in slight horror.

"We're still doing that?" Carter asks in annoyance.

"Of course we are...so what do you say Ethan? Is it okay if Carter and I come to your house today after club?" Lucas questions, now turning his head to look at Ethan.

Ethan stared back into Lucas' eyes, knowing he couldn't say no to him he sighed and said a small "it's fine."

"Great!" Lucas exclaims, clapping both his hands together like he had accomplished something. "That seals it, we're going to your house after club ends today." Lucas says once again which made Carter sigh in annoyance and Ethan felt slightly nervous.

Meanwhile with Todd and Jacob, they were sitting at the front of the class where they normally did with Todd bringing his chair towards Jacob. An awkward tension was left between them, even Todd didn't know what to do.

He cleared his throat, hoping that would get Jacob's attention, but Jacob was just as focused on the game on his laptop as before. Todd cleared his throat again before saying Jacob's name.

Jacob heard Todd call out his name, he even knew that Todd was trying to get his attention by clearing his throat so much. Either that, or Todd had a bad cold, which Jacob didn't think he had. Jacob was hesitant to answer to Todd calling out his name. He knew Todd would know for sure he was ignoring him if he didn't answer to when he called out his name.

That's what Todd ended up thinking. He looked at Jacob seriously and says "Jacob, please stop ignoring me."

Jacob couldn't ignore Todd, having Todd speak to him in a tone like that. He bit on his bottom lip, thinking about it for a second before letting out a deep sigh and saying "yes?"

"So you're not ignoring me anymore?" Todd questions, looking at Jacob in slight hope.

"Maybe" Jacob says quickly, before clicking off of the game he was playing.

Todd saw  that and took the chance to look at Nate and ask him from across the room "Nate, can Jacob and I leave early today? We need to go to the art store because we decided to make a poster and need to get the supplies."

Nate looked up when he heard Todd call out to him and replied "sure Todd" in a smile before looking back down at the paper he was writing down on from before hand.

Todd then stood up, looking down at Jacob, waiting for him to stand as well. Jacob looked at Todd totally confused but hesitantly, slowly started to stand anyway.

"Have a good one guys!" Todd says in a loud tone to everyone before leaving the room with Jacob following behind him with his head down.

"Why did you lie to Nate and tell him we were going to go to the art store when we haven't even talked about what we want to do yet?" Jacob questions, walking side by side with Todd as they were both walking down the hall.

"So we could go out together by ourselves." Todd explains before stopping in front of a classroom, hearing questionable noises. He saw Jacob still walking, not noticing he had stopped and called him back. "Jacob, hold up a second" Todd says, motion his hand for Jacob to come to him.

Jacob walked towards Todd once again, asking "what is it Todd?"

"You hear that noise, right?" Todd asks Jacob, making sure he wasn't the only one hearing things.

He didn't give Jacob a chance to reply to him. He instantly walked towards the classroom he heard the suspicious noises from and an instant gasp left his mouth, surprised on what he was witnessing. "What, what is it?" Jacob questions, walking up to the classroom himself to peek inside to see what Todd was looking at.

To his surprise, they both saw Max and Ryan making out on the floor of the classroom. Max was on top of Ryan, while Ryan was being pinning onto the ground by Max, as they were making out. "Oh my gosh-" Jacob says, stepping away from the classroom.

"We have to stop Max, we both know Ryan isn't gay, why would he be? He's attacking Ryan!" Todd says, looking at Jacob concerned.

Hey guys, thank you for being so patient with this story. Next chapter you'll see more Max and Ryan drama because Todd and Jacob pry themselves into their business. If the next chapter goes as I plan, Carter and Lucas will also be going to Ethan's house as well. Who do you want to see in the next chapter ?
